1.Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore approved the upward revision in pension for talented sportspersons :-
As a major step towards the welfare of the players, Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, has approved the upward revision in pension for talented sportspersons.
Under this amendment, the current rate of pension has been doubled for those who win medals in international sports events.
2.Mr. Ashwani Lohani, Chairman, Railway Board, jointly launched “Awareness Campaign with the support of Railway on the protection of children” with NCPCR :-

Chairman of the Railway Board, Shri Ashwani Lohani, along with Ms. Stuti Kakkar, President of National Child Rights Protection Commission (NCPCR), children, children destroying children, smuggled children as passengers coming in contact with railways, as an effort to spread awareness. ,

3.Myanmar and United Nations agreement on the return of Rohingya Muslims :-

Myanmar and United Nations agencies signed an agreement which could help in returning 7 lakh Rohingya Muslims who left the country due to atrocities of security forces in Myanmar. These Rohingya Muslims are living in temporary camps in Bangladesh.
This consent sheet has agreed to create a ‘framework of cooperation’, whose purpose is to create conditions for the Rohingya refugees ‘voluntary, safe, respected and permanent’ withdrawal. In fact Myanmar and Bangladesh had agreed to start Rohingya’s home country last November. The Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator of the United Nations in Myanmar Ostby said that this agreement is the first important step in solving this crisis. They said, ‘Have to do a lot of work. The importance of this work should not be seen in the short term. ‘ The United Nations said that the agreement will provide access to its health and development agencies to the province.
4.Technical cooperation with Denmark for sustainable development :-

The Union Cabinet has approved various agreements in different areas with Britain, France, Denmark and Netherlands to accelerate the growing urbanization and Smart City mission.
Proposals of these agreements were approved in the Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During the meeting, the agreements signed between India and the UK on technical cooperation in the field of urban development were exposed in April 2018.
The aim of this agreement is to provide institutional support and strengthening it between India and the UK in the field of sustainable urban development.
Development of smart cities in areas of cooperation, solid waste management, environment friendly affordable housing, waste water management, capacity building in urban institutions, skill development in urban areas, urban transport, transport system and transit-centric development, Financial access includes innovation and other related fields. Both sides had mutually agreed for cooperation in these areas.
Under the agreement, India-UK Joint Working Group will be constituted.
5.Health Ministry stops imposing admission in 82 medical colleges :-

On the basis of the recommendation of the Medical Council of India, the Health Ministry has banned the admission in 82 medical colleges for the academic session 2018-19.
In his inspection, the Medical Council had found the shortcomings of infrastructure, teachers and other resources in these colleges. These include 70 private and 12 government colleges.
6.Mumbai airport crossed for the first time in more than 1,000 flights a day :-

For the first time, Mumbai Airport crossed the figure of more than 1,000 flights a day.
With this, he broke the old record of 988 flights in one day. It includes the movement of both the aircraft landing at or near the Mumbai airport.
Mumbai International Airport (MIAL) spokesman said that the traffic of 1,003 aircraft has been recorded in 24 hours at Mumbai airport.
He said that it is the largest number of airports in the air from this airport till now.
7.Government announced a package of Rs 8,000 crore for sugarcane farmers :-

The Central Government has announced a package of more than Rs 8,000 crorefor providing relief to sugarcane farmers and removing their liabilities.
According to thegovernment official, the package contains three elements. A buffer stock of 30 lmt (lac MT) sugar will be made with Rs 1.2200 crores .
8.RBI raises repo rate by 6.25% :

On June 6, 2018, the six member monetary policy committee of RBI decided to increase the repo rate (short term lending rate) from 6.00% to 6.25%. According to the second bi-monthly monetary policy, the current repo rate of RBI is 6.25% while the reverse repo rate is 6.00%. This increase in recent rates has been seen for the first time in four and a half years since the formation of the National Democratic Alliance government in May 2014.
Repo rate –
Repo rate is the rate at which the RBI lends credit to banks for a short period of time. This is done by the RBI with an agreement to sell government bonds at a fixed rate by buying government bonds. When the Reserve Bank of India raises the repo rate, the bank has to lend at higher rates. It can be said, therefore, that the rise in the repo rate is one of the reasons for the rise in interest rates in the markets.
Reverse repo rate –
The reverse repo rate is the interest rate on which the RBI takes loans from other banks for short-term time.
This is done by the RBI with the commitment of government bonds / securities to buy back the banks in the future.
Banks also use the reverse repo facility to earn their short term surplus money by depositing them in the RBI.
9.World Bank gives permission to Atal Bhujal Yojana :-

World Bank has approved the Central Sector Scheme, Atal Bhujal Yojana (ABHY), of the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Protection with the cost of 6000 crores.
This scheme is to be implemented in the five year period from 2018-19 to 2022-23 with the help of World Bank.
Special things related to planning –
With the intention of reducing the shortage of ground water resources in large parts of the country, the Ministry has constructed Atal Bhujjal Yojna, the objective of this scheme is to improve the situation of ground water management in the primary areas of the country through collective participation. Among the primary sector states selected under the scheme, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh are included and out of 78 districts of these states, around 8350 Gram Panchayats are expected to be benefitted under the scheme. The reason for funding this scheme is to improve the utilization and protection of water resources in the management of ground water and to improve the water management in ground water management. Ministry’s Finance Expenditure Committee has already approved the proposal of the scheme, the ministry will now ensure the Cabinet’s recommendations promptly.
10.Center will merge four cooperative banks :-

The central government is going to merge four government banks IDBI, Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC), Central Bank of India and Bank of Baroda (BOB).
The reason for this merger is that the loss of these banks is about Rs 21,646.38 crore till the financial year ending 2017-18.
The bank formed after the merger of these four banks can be the second largest bank in the country.
Key Facts –
With the aim of incorporating SBI into the top 50 banks of the world, the Central Government merged with the State Bank of India on 1st April, 2017, along with five associate banks of SBI, Indian Women Bank.
And after the success of this merger, the government is now going to merge four more banks.
If this merger is successful, then as a result, the bank formed after the merger will be the second largest bank after the SBI.
Whose total assets can be up to Rs 16.58 lakh crore. With this merger, the government will also be able to collect up to Rs 10,000 crores.
This merger will surely see improvement in the disastrous erosion of weak banks.
After the merger, the branches of banks will be closed and the employees will be cut off.
11.Yes Bank launches ‘Green Future: Deposit Scheme’ :-

On the occasion of World Environment Day celebrated on 5th June, Yes Bank (Private Sector Bank) has launched a new scheme ‘Green Future: Deposit’.
Under this deposit scheme, the investor can earn an annual interest of up to 8% from the bank.
Key Facts –
‘Green Future: Deposit Scheme’ is a deposit scheme under which any investor can earn 18% 8% or 18 days of annual interest up to 8% from the bank by investing his zodiac sign.
On the amount invested, the bank will pay the annual rate of 7.50% and the rate of interest upto 8% to senior citizens.
With the help of this new scheme, Yes Bank plans to raise Rs 1,000 crore in the next three months.
Yes Bank has given a big gift to World Bank for this year’s World Environment Day.
Yana Bank’s Managing Director and CEO (MD & CEO) Rana Kapoor has also reported that this green futures offered by the bank in the current financial year: Deposit Scheme is the first product of the Green Retail Product category, and the bank is in the future. This will launch even more product.
