1 Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by eight runs to win the Women’s Premier League title for the second time

 In the final of Women’s Premier League cricket  in   Mumbai , Mumbai Indians  defeated  Delhi Capitals  by eight runs and won the title for the second time. This is Delhi Capitals’ third consecutive defeat in the final. Mumbai Indians batted first and scored 149 runs for seven wickets in the stipulated twenty overs.  Harmanpreet Kaur  played a brilliant innings of 66 runs in 44 balls. In reply, Delhi Capitals could only score 141 runs for nine wickets. Harmanpreet Kaur was awarded the Player of the Match award.  Nat Siver Brunt  was chosen as the most important player of the tournament. He scored 523 runs in this tournament and was   given  the Orange Cap . Amela Kapp  took 18 wickets and   was awarded  the Purple Cap . Amanjot Kaur  received the Emerging Player award.

Transfer of land of 2 Assam Rifles Battalion to Mizoram Government

 In the presence of Union Home and Cooperation Minister  Shri Amit Shah, the transfer  of land of  Assam Rifles Battalion  to  the  Mizoram Government and formal exchange of maps took place  in  Aizawl  , Mizoram   . Many dignitaries including Mizoram Chief Minister  Shri Lalduoma , Union Home Secretary, Director, Intelligence Bureau and Director General, Assam Rifles were present on this occasion. On this occasion, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah said that today’s program is a very important moment for the development of Mizoram. He said that for about 35 years, due to the specific type of topography and lack of space, there was a long-standing demand that Assam Rifles be sent to the interior for the development of entire Mizoram including Aizawl. He said that due to the visionary decision of Modi ji, large land is going to be available in the major areas of Mizoram, which will give a new direction to the development of the state. Due to an important decision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, today this demand of about 30-35 years is being fulfilled. It is worth noting that  on   26 October 2024 , Chief Minister Lalduhoma  had announced that a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Assam Rifles and the Government of Mizoram on 23 October 2024 at Mizoram House, New Delhi. It outlined the transfer process and the terms of land transfer. Under this agreement, the official  transfer  ceremony of Assam Rifles Headquarters  from  Aizawl to Jokhavsang took place.

 

3 UP CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurated Sify Infinite Space’s data center in Noida

On March 11, 2025,  Uttar Pradesh  (UP) Chief Minister  Yogi Adityanath  inaugurated  the  Artificial Intelligence (AI)  -powered  Sify Noida 02 data centre campus  in Noida  (UP)  . The facility is operated by Sify Infinite Space Ltd , a leading data centre provider based in  Chennai, Tamil Nadu (TN)   . The facility is expected to play a key role in enhancing data processing and storage capabilities, meeting the needs of businesses and industries across India. It is a significant milestone in the development of India’s digital infrastructure, enhancing the country’s AI capabilities and supporting the growth of its digital economy. The campus  is North India’s largest data centre facility  , with  a total capacity of 130+ megawatts (MW)  .

4 RBI awarded Digital Transformation Award 2025 by Central Banking London

The Reserve Bank of India  has   been awarded  the Digital Transformation Award 2025  by  Central Banking London . RBI  has been honored and recognized for its initiatives including  ‘Pravah’ and ‘Saarathi’ systems developed by the in-house developer team. The award committee noted that both digital initiatives have reduced the use of paper-based submissions , thereby transforming RBI’s internal and external processes. Both these initiatives have been crucial for this work, Central Banking said in a press statement. With the Sarathi initiative, all internal workflows of RBI have been digitized. This initiative, which went live in January 2023, allowed employees to store and share documents securely. Along with this, record management was also improved. The second phase of digital transformation was launched in May 2024 in the form of ‘Pravah’, which created a digital medium for external users to submit regulatory applications to RBI.

 5 India’s Vaidehi Chaudhary and Rashmika Bhamidipati have won the women’s doubles title at the W-35 Nonthaburi Tennis Tournament

 

India’s  Vaidehi Chaudhary  and  Rashmika Bhamidipati  have   won  the women’s doubles title  at  the W-35 Nonthaburi Tennis Tournament . In the final, the Indian pair defeated second seeded Thailand’s Punin Kovapituktid and Japan’s Yuki Naito  . The third seeded Indian pair dominated the match and won 6-4, 6-3 over their opponents.

6 World Consumer Rights Day 2025

World Consumer Rights Day is celebrated  every year  on March 15  , reminding people of the importance of upholding consumer rights and protection. The theme for World Consumer Rights Day 2025 is ‘ A just transition to a sustainable lifestyle .’ The theme reflects the urgent need to make sustainable and healthy lifestyle choices available, accessible and affordable to all consumers – while ensuring that these transitions uphold people’s basic rights and needs. The day is an opportunity to promote the basic rights of all consumers and encourage them to respect and protect those rights. World Consumer Rights Day   was first celebrated  in 1983. The date was chosen to commemorate President John F. Kennedy ‘s address to  the US Congress   on March 15, 1962 , where he became the first world leader to formally recognise consumer rights.

7 Former Indian cricketer Syed Abid Ali passes away

On 12th March 2025 Former Indian Cricketer Syed Abid Ali  passed away in California, United States(USA) at the age of 83. He was born on 9th September 1941  in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh , AP (now Telangana). Syed Abid Ali represented India in 29 Test matches from 1967 to 1974 and 5 One Day Internationals(ODIs) between 1974 to 1975.
