1 NDA supported C.P. Radhakrishnan became the 15th Vice President of the country
National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate and Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan was elected the 15th Vice President of India on Tuesday . He defeated opposition India Block candidate, retired judge B. Sudarshan Reddy by 152 votes. The Vice Presidential election saw a voter turnout of 98.20 per cent. According to the Election Commission, the total number of voters for the Vice Presidential election was 788. Due to 7 vacancies, the effective voter turnout was 781. A total of 767 MPs cast their votes. In the results, Radhakrishnan got 452 first preference votes, while Sudarshan Reddy got 300 votes. A total of 15 votes were declared invalid. Rajya Sabha Secretary General P.C. Modi informed that a total of 13 MPs abstained from voting, including seven MPs from BJD, four from BRS, one from Shiromani Akali Dal and one independent MP.
2 A contingent of Indian Army left for Russia to participate in multilateral joint military exercise Zapad 2025

A contingent of the Indian Army left to participate in the multilateral joint military exercise Zapad 2025 starting in Russia. The contingent will participate in the multilateral joint military exercise ‘ Zapad 2025 ‘ , which will be held from 10 to 16 September 2025. The seven-day exercise aims to enhance military cooperation, improve interoperability and provide a platform for exchange of tactics, techniques and procedures in conventional warfare and counter-terrorism operations.

“ Clean Air Survey Award and Wetland City Award Ceremony ” was organized at Indira Paryavaran Bhawan located at ITO, Delhi . On this occasion, those cities across the country were honored, which have done excellent work in improving air quality, environmental protection and water conservation. In this award, cities were divided into three categories on the basis of their population – cities with a population of more than 10 lakh, cities with a population of 3 to 10 lakh and cities with a population of less than 3 lakh. Indore city of Madhya Pradesh remained number-1 once again in the category of population more than 10 lakh . Indore was given a cash prize of Rs 1.5 crore, trophy and certificate for this. Jabalpur remained in second place , which got 199 marks out of 200 and was given a prize money of Rs 1 crore. Agra of Uttar Pradesh and Surat of Gujarat were jointly at the third place , both got 196 marks out of 200. These two cities were given Rs 25 lakh each from the combined amount of Rs 50 lakh. Among the cities with a population of 3 to 10 lakh, Amravati in Maharashtra stood first and was given a prize of Rs 75 lakh. Jhansi and Moradabad of Uttar Pradesh jointly came second and got a sum of Rs 50 lakh, while Alwar of Rajasthan stood third . Among the cities with a population less than 3 lakh, Dewas of Madhya Pradesh stood first and was given a prize of Rs 35 lakh. Parwanoo of Himachal Pradesh stood second and got Rs 25 lakh, while Amdul city of Odisha stood third and was given a sum of Rs 12.5 lakh.
4 Prime Minister Narendra Modi surveyed flood and landslide affected areas in Himachal Pradesh, announced assistance of Rs 1500 crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted an aerial survey of the areas affected by floods, landslides and heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh . The Prime Minister also held a meeting with the state government to review and assess the damage caused by the natural disaster. During this, the Prime Minister announced financial assistance of Rs 1500 crore for the flood and rain affected areas of Himachal Pradesh .

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced financial assistance of Rs 1600 crore to flood-affected Punjab . This amount is in addition to the Rs 12000 crore given to the state earlier. At the same time, installments of State Disaster Relief Fund and Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi will also be released in advance. An assistance of Rs 2 lakh to the next of kin of each person killed due to floods and Rs 50,000 to the seriously injured has also been announced. After taking stock of the flood situation in Gurdaspur, Punjab, the Prime Minister held a meeting with senior officials and assessed the damage. He also conducted an aerial survey of the area.
6 Nepal: Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli resigned

Nepal Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli has resigned from his post after 19 people died and more than 300 people were injured during nationwide protests by youth . He submitted his resignation to President Ramchandra Paudel . Technically, President’s rule has been imposed in Nepal at this time. Oli could remain in office for only 1 year and 2 months.
