1.Indian peacekeepers for UNESCO medals for dedicated service and sacrifice in southern Sudan :-

The United Nations has honored more than one thousand Indian peacekeepers with the United Nations Medal for dedicated services and sacrifices in southern Sudan. This medal is given to the peacekeepers deployed for peace building, humanitarian aid and disaster relief operations worldwide. Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated the contribution of these peacekeepers in the recent program of mind.

Indian jawans have served in about 50 operations of the UN Peacekeeping Operations from around the world. Over 20 thousand patients have been treated in the Indian Army Hospital in Congo and southern Sudan and countless people have been rescued.

2.New Island can solve land crisis of Bangladesh: Expert :-

In the water sector around Bangladesh, dozens of new islands have emerged in the past decade. This has given the country a potential solution to the danger of rising sea levels. The government said yesterday that 29 arelands with 125,370 acres of area have emerged in the Bay of Bengal since 2007.Indeed, every year the Himalayan rivers produce one billion tons of silt and deposits them in the Bay of Bengal near the Bangladesh coast, from which the islands are formed in shallow waters. Many of these islands are inhabited. At the same time, experts told AFP that they can reduce the risks born with ‘global warming’.

The chief of the Center for Environment and Geographic Information Services, Mameenul Haq Sarkar said that every year new lands are emerging in Bangladesh and the rivers and the sea are swallowing new land.

Renowned Hindi poet and writer, Kunwar Narayana, died today in New Delhi. He was 90 years old. Kunwar Narayan, a recipient of Sahitya Akademi and Gyanpeeth Award, was born in Faizabad in 1927. He was also honored with Padam Bhushan Adornment. Kunwar Narayan is considered to be a strong signature of the new Hindi poetry.

Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has said that the internet is of the whole world and no one can have monopoly over it. 7.Green Tribunal blames Amarnath Shrine Board for lack of facilities for pilgrims :-

Amarnath Shrine Board has been reprimanded by the National Green Tribunal for not providing suitable basic amenities to Amarnath pilgrims. Tribunal said that the Board was not following the directions of the Supreme Court of 2012. He has asked the Shrine Board to submit a status report to this in the first week of December. President of the Tribunal, Justice Swatan Kumar said that there are no facilities like toilets and there is a lot of trouble for women. Green Tribunal has constituted a committee of experts headed by Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forests who will prepare a plan for providing facilities for the devotees.

 

8.Preview program organized in Bonn, Germany for the establishment of International Solar Coalition :-

According to PIB, the preview program was organized in Bon, Germany for the installation ceremony of the International Solar Coalition (ISA). On this occasion, Shri Anand Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India expressed the hope that the developed countries will set the percentage of foreign development assistance (ODA) in the solar power projects of developing countries by the spirit of positive action. He said that multilateral development banks and other financial institutions try to provide full support to solar projects worldwide through low cost finance and research and technology institutions so that solar energy and its storage can be accessible to everyone.

 

9.Inflation based on wholesale price index reached 6-month high level of 3-point-five-nine percent in October :-

According to the official figures released today, food items have more than doubled to four point three percent. In October, the prices of vegetables also increased by 36 decimal six-one percent compared to September, while the prices of onion increased by one hundred 27 percent, but pulses became 31 percent zero-five percent cheaper. In the price of potato, the decline of 44 decimal two-no percent was recorded.
