1. Nitin Gadkari inaugurates 81-th Annual Session of Indian Road Congress – IRC

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath jointly inaugurated the 81-th Annual Session of Indian Road Congress – IRC in Lucknow . The 81-th ‘Indian Road Congress’ is being organized in Lucknow from October 8 to 11, hosted by Uttar Pradesh. More than one thousand five hundred delegates are participating in this program. During this, the Indian Road Congress will discuss modern techniques in road construction and several sessions will be organized for this.

2. Approval to start a new weapon system arm ‘Disha’ in the Indian Air Force

The Government has approved the introduction of a new weapon systems arm ‘Disha’ in the Indian Air Force . This branch will enhance the combat capability of the Indian Air Force. The Defense Ministry said it deals with four distinct branches of weapon system operations in surface-to-surface missiles, surface-to-air missiles, remote pilot centrally controlled pilotless aircraft and twin multi-crew aircraft. Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Choudhary , Chief of the Air Staff , said that such a system is being introduced for the first time since independence.

3. Union Home Minister chairs review meeting of Northeast Space Applications Center

Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired the review meeting of Northeast Space Applications Centre . The Northeast Space Applications Center is located in Shillong and is a joint initiative of the Department of Space and the North Eastern Council . The Application Center will help in the development process of North East. The North Eastern Space Applications Center (NESAC) was established in 2000 to provide space technology inputs and services for the development of the North East region.

4. Indian Air Force celebrates its 90th Raising Day

The Indian Air Force celebrated its 90th Raising Day on 8 October . A traditional parade was organized at the Air Force base on the occasion. About 80 military aircraft and helicopters took off on Air Force Day organized in the Sukhna Lake area . This is the first time that the annual parade and fly past has been organized outside the National Capital Territory of Delhi . The Indian Air Force was officially established on 8 October 1932 and the first flight of the Air Force was carried out on 01 April 1933 . The Indian Air Force was initially known as the ‘ Royal Indian Air Force ‘ in the year 1950 .After India was established as a republic, the word ‘ Royal ‘ was dropped. At present the ‘Indian Air Force’ is the air wing of the Indian Armed Forces and is the fourth largest air force in the world.

5. First Seminar of Agni Tattva Abhiyan under Life Mission was organized in Leh

Power Foundation of India in association with Vigyan Bharati (VIBHA) is currently running a campaign to create awareness on the element of fire under ‘ Life-Lifestyle for Environment ‘. The campaign includes conferences, seminars, events and exhibitions across the country involving educational institutions, communities and relevant organizations to create awareness about the basic concept of the fire element. The fire element is an element that is synonymous with energy and is one of the five elements of the Panchmahabhuta. The first conference of Agni Abhiyan was held yesterday in Leh on the theme ‘Sustainability and Culture’. The conference saw participation from key stakeholders working in the areas of energy, culture and sustainability from diverse sectors such as governance, policy makers, academia and start-ups.

6. ‘White Shipping Information Exchange’ agreement between India and New Zealand

The Indian Navy has recently signed an agreement on White Shipping Information Exchange with the Royal Navy of New Zealand to promote greater transparency in the maritime sectors . This was announced by the Ministry of Defense by issuing a statement. Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar recently visited New Zealand. Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar was presented the Guard of Honor by the Royal New Zealand Navy at the traditional Pohri ceremony held at Te Taua Moana Mara. White Shipping Information Exchange is a technical term. It deals with the exchange of information between the navies of commercial vessels within the maritime zones of the two countries.

7. Mohit Bhatia appointed CEO of Bank of India Mutual Fund

Bank of India Mutual Fund has appointed Mohit Bhatia as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). His appointment is effective from October 04. Prior to this, he was associated with Canara Robeco Asset Management Company as Head of Sales and Marketing. Bhatia has more than 26 years of professional expertise in the fields of Sales & Distribution, Team Development, Marketing & Branding and Creation of Digital Eco-system.

8. WhatsApp banking services launched by PNB

On the occasion of Durga Puja , Punjab National Bank (PNB) has launched WhatsApp Banking . The bank says that this service has been started for people to get all banking facilities sitting at home. According to the bank, customers will be given information about the services on WhatsApp, which will be on both Android and iOS phones. This service will be available 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Those who are not customers of the bank will also get services on it. They will get information about various schemes, loans and other products of PNB on WhatsApp itself.

9. Wildlife gallery “Aranya” inaugurated by Delhi Customs Zone

Government of India ‘s special drive for cleanliness in government offices started from 2 October 2022 , which will end on 31 October 2022 . During this, special attention will be given to cleanliness. At the same time, an annual program National Wildlife Week has also started on 2 October 2022 , which will end on 9 October . In view of this, the Delhi Customs Area has established ‘ Aranya ‘ at the new Customs House in New Delhi .Celebrating Clean India and Indian Wildlife Heritage by organizing the event. The program showcased India’s rich biodiversity through a picture gallery of mammals and birds. The officers who made significant contribution in the prevention of illegal trade in wildlife were felicitated by the Chief Guest Shri Vivek Johri, Special Secretary to the Government of India and Chairman, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC).

10. Bureau of Indian Standards signs MoU with Testing, Inspection, Certification Council

India’s national standards body, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) signed an MoU with Testing, Inspection, Certification Council , India. The two organizations will collaborate to promote and harmonize the implementation of standards and quality, safety and sustainable practices in laboratories . The organizations resolved to work to improve accountability for laboratories and to exchange and disseminate global best practices in the field of laboratories. The MoU was signed on 29 September 2022. Subsequently, a seminar on “Emerging Global Trends in Laboratories for Self-reliant India” will be jointly organized by both the organizations on 3rd November 2022 in New Delhi.

11. Important bridge connecting Russia with Crimea damaged in blast

An important bridge connecting Russia to Crimea has been damaged in an explosion. Due to this a part of the road adjoining the bridge partially collapsed. Russia’s state-run news agency said the incident was caused by a fuel tank fire, while Ukrainian media said the bridge exploded. Following the explosion, a train passing through a parallel rail section caught fire, engulfing seven fuel tanks. Russia has started its repair and security work. The crashed bridge was inaugurated by President Vladimir Putin in 2018.

Junior world champion in weightlifting Harshada Garud has won a bronze medal in the women’s 45 kg weight category at the ongoing Asian Weightlifting Championships in Manama, Bahrain . Yesterday, 18-year-old Harshada lifted a total of 152 kg including 68 kg in snatch and 84 kg in clean and jerk. Vietnam ‘s Khong Mi Phung won gold and Indonesia’s S. Nafisatul Hariro won silver in the competition .

13. Pankaj Advani joined I.B.S.F. Won the twenty-fifth gold medal at the world level by winning the World Billiards Championship title

Pankaj Advani joined IBSF in Kuala Lumpur . Won the title of World Billiards Competition and secured the twenty- fifth gold medal at the world level . He won the title for the fifth time in a row by defeating Saurabh Kothari 4-0 in the final. Last year Pankaj Advani joined IBSF in Qatar. 6 – Won the Red Snooker World Cup. With his twenty-fifth title, Advani has become the Indian to win the most gold medals in world championships of all sports.

14. World Migratory Bird Day 2022: 8 October

Since its inception in 2006 , World Migratory Bird Day is celebrated twice a year . This day is celebrated on the second Saturday of May and the second Saturday of October . This year, it was first celebrated on 14th May and for the second time, the world is celebrating this day again on 8th October . Every year people around the world organize public events such as bird festivals, education programs, exhibitions and bird-watching excursions to celebrate World Migratory Bird Day. The theme of 2022 World Migratory Bird Day focuses on light pollution.

October 6th is celebrated all over the world as ‘ World Cerebral Palsy Day ‘. Cerebral palsy is commonly known as CP . It is a kind of muscular disease , which affects the physical balance of the sufferer as well as hinders the development of the brain. Cerebral palsy is classified as a disability, as this disease destroys the ability to see, hear, speak and learn, making the sufferer physically and mentally handicapped.
