1.India to chair G20 group for one year

India will chair the G-20 group for one year . Its duration will be from 1st December this year to 30th November next year . Bangladesh during the presidency of India G20 summitwill be invited as a guest country. The Ministry of External Affairs said that India has decided to invite Bangladesh, Mauritius, Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Singapore, Spain, United Arab Emirates and Egypt as per the G20 tradition of inviting some guest countries and international organizations. During this, more than two hundred meetings of the G-20 group are likely to be held. The Summit of the Heads of Government and Government of the G20 Group will be held in New Delhi on 9 and 10 September next year. The G-20 grouping is an intergovernmental forum for the world’s major developed and developing economies. This includes 19 countries Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, UK, USA and European Union. This group of G-20 countries accounts for 85 percent of the global GDP,

2.Election commission declared two hundred 53 registered unrecognized political parties inactive

Election Symbols Order , 1968 declaring 253 registered but unrecognized political parties- RUPP inactiveprohibited from taking advantage of The Election Commission has said that 86 other non-existent political parties will be removed from the list and they will not get any benefit of the symbol order. According to the commission, action will be taken against all these 339 parties who disobey the rules. The number of such parties has gone up to 537 since May 25, 2022. The Election Commission had delisted 87 such parties in May this year and 111 in June this year. Under the Representation of the People Act, every political party has to immediately inform the Commission about the change in its name, head office, office bearers, address and PAN number. After verification done by the Chief Electoral Officers of the respective states or union territories or on the basis of reports of letters or notices sent by post to the registered address, 86 political parties were found to be non-existent.

The Startup Center and META , Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, launched a fast- paced XR Startup program to build the next generation startups of Augmented Reality technologies across the country in New Delhi . XR Startup Program Metaversefocuses on the skilling and building of technical capabilities for The program will help shape the ecosystem in the country to adapt to emerging technologies like Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality. Under this program, each 40 early stage startups working in XR technologies will be given an assistance of Rs. In addition, early innovators working in areas such as education, learning and skills, healthcare, gaming and entertainment, agritech, climate action, tourism and sustainable development will also be encouraged. Support will be provided to innovators from the R&D stage to the development of practical products and services. First, 80 innovators will be selected to participate in a bootcamp. Out of these, a total of 16 innovators will be provided a grant of Rs.20 lakh each.

A new climate study has found that the West Asian region is warming at almost twice the global average . This is expected to have devastating effects on people and economies. 27th United Nations Conference on Climate Change in Egypt later this yearwill be organized. The report released ahead of the summit said that more than 400 million people in the region are facing extreme heat, prolonged drought and sea level rise. The study showed that the oil-rich region is becoming the source of more greenhouse gas emissions than the European Union over the past several years. The study covers an area stretching from Greece and Egypt in the west to Lebanon, Syria and Iraq, and the Gulf states of Bahrain, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates, as well as Iran in the east. Delegates from nearly 200 countries will meet in November this year in the Egyptian Red Sea resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh to implement the 2015 Paris Agreement.

6th edition of Japan India Maritime Exercise 2022 (GIMEX 2022) organized by Indian Navy in Bay of Bengal on 11 Sep 22originated in. The Japanese warship is led by Rear Admiral Hirata Toshiyuki, Commander Escort Flotilla Four, while Indian Navy ships are led by Rear Admiral Sanjay Bhalla, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet. Japan welcomed Izumo, a helicopter carrier, and missile destroyer Takanami, on arrival in the Bay of Bengal, participating in the Indian Navy’s exercise. The Indian Navy is represented by three indigenously built warships, the Sahyadri, the multi-role stealth frigate and the anti-submarine frigates Kadmat and Kavaratti. The joint exercise will have two phases, one at sea and the other at Visakhapatnam port. This joint exercise is an attempt to strengthen mutual coordination and share experiences between the maritime forces of the two countries.

The Indian Air Force contingent has returned after successfully participating in the Exercise Pitch Black 22 exercise with armies of several countries in Australia . Exercise Pitch Black 22 was hosted by the Royal Australian Air Force at its Darwin Air Base . Air forces from 17 countries and over 2,500 military personnel participated in the three-week-long exercise. The IAF contingent consisted of four Su-30 MKIs and two C-17 aircraft. The participating armies participated in multi-aircraft maneuvers day and night, involving complex aerial scenarios, large aircraft configurations.

13.PhonePe tokenizes 14 million debit and credit cards

PhonePe , the largest fintech platform in India, said that 14 million debit and credit cards have been tokenized on the platform , which is in line with the Reserve Bank of India ‘s (RBI) mandated card tokenization, to mitigate risk. There is one step. PhonePe started developing the token in December 2021 as per RBI guidelines and was the first player in the digital payments space to offer the token along with all three major card networks: Visa, Mastercard and RuPay. As of now, over 80 percent of PhonePe’s active users have already tokenized their cards, and the company is on time to meet the RBI’s September 30 deadline.

15.Railways registers 38 per cent growth in total revenue by the end of August 2022

Due to the meaningful initiative of the Central Government , the Railways has registered a growth of 38 percent in the total revenue till the end of August 2022 . The total revenue of Railways increased by 38 per cent to Rs 95,486.58 crore at the end of August 2022. This figure was Rs 26,271.29 crore in the same period a year ago. The revenue from passenger traffic in the reporting period stood at Rs 25,276.54 crore, showing a growth of 116 per cent year-on-year, the statement said. A year ago this figure was Rs 13,574.44 crore.
