It has been prepared jointly by the well- known British pharma company GlaxoSmithKline and biotech company Medicago . To make a vaccine using molecular farming technology, scientists first prepare the genetic material of the virus in the lab, then transfer it to a plant. inject in. In this way the genetic material of the virus reaches the whole plant. When the plant grows up, its leaves are plucked and extracted. That is, in a way, extract its juice. After filtering the extract, a vaccine is prepared from it. CoVLP is a virus-like-particle vaccine. That is, it has been prepared from such a particle which is like a virus in every sense, but does not infect. Understand in simple language, when the virus-like-particle reaches the body through the vaccine, there will be no harm, but the body will start making antibodies against it in large numbers.

4. Bharat Petroleum starts door-to-door delivery of diesel

• Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited ( BPCL ) has started door-to-door delivery of ‘ High Speed Diesel ‘ with an aim to meet the growing demand . BPCL also dedicated 15 mobile tankers on the eve of Independence Day in Eastern Region. The initiative of door-to-door delivery using mobile dispensers has resulted in the commissioning of 1588 fuel carts and 129 fuelants within two years across the industry. Fuelkart helps in enhancing operational efficiency for the customers in line with the vision of ease of doing business. This ensures delivery within time, ensuring complete assurance of quality and quantity. BPCL has already launched 63 mobile dispensers in West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand as well as North-Eastern states.

5. Telangana government initiates farm loan waiver

State Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy said that loans worth more than Rs 2,000 crore would be waived off and more than 6 lakh farmers taking crop loans up to Rs 50,000 would be benefitted. The loan waiver process is expected to be completed by the end of this month. Following the election promise, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government had waived farm loans up to Rs 25,000 last year, benefiting about three lakh farmers.

6. Dalit Bandhu Scheme launched in Telangana

• Telangana government is launching Dalit Bandhu scheme in Salapally village of Huzurnagar Assembly Constituency . On this occasion, Chief Minister of. Chandrashekhar Rao will formally launch the scheme by giving certificates to the selected beneficiaries who have received financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh for income-generating activities . More than 20 thousand such families have been identified in Huzurabad assembly constituency. Apart from this, a security fund of ten thousand rupees will be created with the help of each beneficiary and the government so that necessary financial assistance can be provided to the beneficiaries in case of failures in their undertakings.

7. Second phase of ‘Duare Sarkar’ campaign begins in West Bengal

8. Odisha government will provide smart health card under Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana

• Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik ( Naveen Patnaik announced) that his government Biju health care plan ( Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojan under) smart health card will provide. Smart health cards will be provided to 3.5 crore people of 96 lakh families in the state. These cards will be provided to the beneficiaries of national and state food security schemes and Annapurna and Antyodaya initiatives. Under this, women can avail treatment up to Rs 10 lakh annually. Other family members will get benefits up to Rs 5 lakh each. According to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Odisha is the first state in India to provide such smart health cards.

12. Assam passes Cattle Protection Bill

• Assam Assembly by August 13, 2021 the ” Assam animal protection legislation, 202l ” ( Assam Cattle Preservation Bill, 202l passed). The Assam Cattle Protection Bill, 2021 prohibits the sale and purchase of beef in areas inhabited by non-beef-eating communities . It also prohibits the sale and purchase of beef within a 5 km radius of the temple or santra (Vaishnava Math). This bill will repeal the Assam Cattle Protection Act, 1950. It was passed with an aim to regulate the “slaughter, consumption, illegal transport” of cattle. It prohibits inter-state transport of cattle to and through Assam without any valid documents.

13. Union Agriculture Minister inaugurated the world’s second largest refurbished gene bank

• National Plant Genetic Resources Bureau ( National Bureau Of Plant Genetic Resources- NBPGR ), Pusa, New Delhi, the world ‘s second largest take-art national gene bank inaugurated Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar said. In the year 1996 to preserve the seeds of Plant Genetic Resources (PGR) for future generations. The established National Gene Bank has the capacity to preserve about one million germplasm in seed form. Presently it is protecting 4.52 lakh accessions, of which 2.7 lakh are Indian germplasm and the rest have been imported from other countries. National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources is meeting the need of in-situ and ex-situ germplasm conservation through Delhi Headquarters and 10 regional stations in the country.

14. Project Bold of Khadi and Village Industries Commission receives military support in Leh

• Project BOLD ( Bamboo based green area on dry land area ) of Khadi and Village Industries Commission ( KVIC ) has received the support of Indian Army in Leh . On August 15, the army started this by planting 20 bamboo saplings in its premises in Leh. These 20 saplings of a particular species of bamboo were handed over to the Army in Jammu by KVIC on 12 August for planting in Leh. This is the first attempt to plant bamboo trees in the high Himalayan regions with the aim of preventing land degradation and developing green areas here. Continuing this effort, 1000 bamboo plants will be planted on 18th August in Chuchot village of Leh.
