1.Arunachal Minister Jomde Kena Is No More :-
Jomde Kena, BJP leader and Health and Family Welfare Minister of Arunachal Pradesh died at a private hospital in Guwahati after a prolonged illness.
52-year old Kena was admitted at the hospital for the last one month.
2.PM addresses Indian Community in Yangon :-
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today addressed the Indian community in Yangon, Myanmar.
“You represent thousands of years of the shared culture and civilisation, geography and history, aspiration and achievements of the great sons and daughters of India and Myanmar,” the Prime Minister said, addressing the gathering.
The Prime Minister elaborated on the rich spiritual traditions of Myanmar.
3.Stricter Norms for Corporate Governance: Punishment for Siphoning off Money from Bank Accounts of “Struck Off” Companies; Disqualifation of Directors from Being Appointed or Reappointed in Companies :-
In continuation of the Government’s resolve to strengthen the rules and procedures of Corporate Governance, the Government today took some major decisions to further strengthen these norms.
It has been decided that in case the Director or authorized signatory of any “struck off” company tries to unauthorizedly siphon-off money from its bank account, he/she may attract punishment of imprisonment of not less than six months extendible to 10 years.
If it is found that the fraud involves public interest, the punishment shall not be less than 3 years and fine may also be imposed which would be three times the amount involved.
4.Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman to assume charge as Defence Minister :-
Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman will assume charge as the Defence Minister on September 07, 2017 in South Block, New Delhi.
She will assume the charge from Shri Arun Jaitley who was holding the additional charge of the Ministry of Defence since March 14, 2017. Smt. Sitharaman will become the first full time woman Defence Minister of India.
5.Shri Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary Assumes Charge as Minister of State in Ministry of Mines :-
The Secretary Mines, Shri Arun Kumar along with the senior officers of the mines ministry welcomed the newly appointed Minister of State in the Ministry of Mines and Ministry of Coal, Shri Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudharyin his office in Shastri Bhawan.
Shri Chaudhary was Minister of State in Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) earlier and he has served as Minister of State in Ministry of Home Affairs.
6.UJALA scheme launched in Melaka, Malaysia :-
Energy Efficiency Services Limited ( EESL) , under Ministry of Power, Government of India has launched UJALA (Unnat Jyoti by Affordable Lighting for All) Scheme in the State of Melaka, Malaysia.
The Scheme was launched by Chief Minister of Melaka Datuk Seri Utama Ir. Hj. Idris Bin Hj. Haron.
In due course of time, the successful Indian model of UJALA scheme has become a sought-after example for the different nations of the world and will now be implemented in Melaka to extend programme benefits to people of the region.
7.Sushma Swaraj arrives in Russia on a three-day trip to participate in Third Eastern Economic Forum :-
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today visited the Russian port city of Vladivostok on a three-day tour to participate in the Third Eastern Economic Forum, where she will discuss global business issues.
He will also hold bilateral talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, during which there is a possibility to discuss various issues related to trade, investment and defense cooperation.
The Eastern Economic Forum is considered the largest international communication platform for cooperation among business associates and senior government representatives of Russia’s leading government representatives, Pacific region and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Representatives from at least 24 countries, including America, Japan, China, Australia, Canada, UK and Germany, are participating in this meeting.
8.Donald Trump Canceled Amnesty Program :-
US President Donald Trump announces Obama’s Amnesty Program; This decision will affect seven thousand Indians
US President Donald Trump canceled Obama’s era Amnesty program These programs provided work permit to refugees entering illegally as children in the country. This trump is expected to have an impact on a large number of people who do not have valid documents. These include more than seven thousand Indian Americans.
There was a possibility of such a declaration for the past few days and after the declaration of the DACTA i.e. DAFFED Action for Children Arvival, there were demonstrations across the country.
Hundreds protesters protested against trumpets gathered in front of the White House. Tom Perez, president of the Democratic National Committee, has said that by canceling the DACA, Trump has made a brutal image more firm.
Former President Barack Obama described Trump’s decision as inhumane, inaccurate and cruel. Mexico has also termed this decision wrong.
9.INDvsSL: 9-0 clean sweep of Sri Lanka, India won by seven wickets :-
The Indian team defeated Sri Lanka by 7 wickets in the only T20 match played in Colombo.
At the same time, Team India has cleaned all the matches of the Sri Lanka tour to 9-0.
Earlier in the match, losing the toss, Sri Lanka kept a huge target of 171 for Team India.
Chasing the target, Team India won the match easily by losing 3 wickets in 19.2 overs. Virat Kohli was awarded Man of the Match award for his excellent batting performance.
