1.Prime Minister Narendra Modi conferred with the first Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award in Mumbai

2.PM visits J&K to participate in National Panchayati Raj Day celebrations

The Prime Minister , Shri Narendra Modi , visited Jammu and Kashmir to participate in the celebration of National Panchayati Raj Day and addressed all Gram Sabhas across the country. He visited the Palli Panchayat of Samba district . Prime Minister around Rs 20,000 croreInaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several development projects. He also launched the Amrit Sarovar initiative. On this occasion the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Shri Manoj Sinha, Union Minister Shri Giriraj Singh, Dr. Jitendra Singh and Mr. Kapil Moreshwar Patil were present on the occasion. Earlier, the Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of three sections of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway. It is being constructed at a cost of more than seven and a half thousand crore rupees. He also inaugurated a five hundred kilowatt solar power plant at Palli village along with 108 Jan Aushadhi Kendras at Samba. He also inaugurated the Banihal Qazigund road tunnel. More than three thousand crore rupees have been spent on this. The tunnel, which is about eight and a half kilometer long, will reduce the distance between Banihal and Qazigund by 16 kilometer and will save one and a half hour travel time. The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of 800 MW Rattle Hydro Electric Project and 540 MW Quar Hydro Electric Project. Which are being built on Chenab river in Kishtwar district. The Prime Minister also launched the Amrit Sarovar initiative. Its objective is to develop 75 water bodies in each district of the country.

Addressing the Global AYUSH Investment and Innovation Summit , PM Modi announced that the country will soon launch ‘ AYUSH Mark ‘ to give authenticity to quality AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy) products . This launch will be done with an aim to boost the traditional medicine industry of the nation. Ayush Visa will help all those persons who are seeking traditional treatment .want to come to India. AYUSH wellness centers will be able to attract a lot of visitors from all over the world which will boost the economy of the country. In 1995, the Indian Department of Medicine and Homeopathy (ISM&H) was created with the aim of developing AYUSH systems. In the year 2003, the name of this department was changed to Department of AYUSH. On 9 November 2014, the Ministry of AYUSH was formed with the objective of reviving the knowledge of ancient medicines and ensuring the development of health care related to AYUSH. The Ministry of AYUSH has also taken steps aimed at encouraging start-up culture in the field of traditional medicine. An incubation center was recently inaugurated which has been developed by All India Institute of Ayurveda.

5.India-Maldives navigation chart unveiled

During a three-day visit to Maldives , Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral R. Hari Kumar unveiled the first navigation chart jointly prepared by India and Maldives . He also handed over hydrography equipment to strengthen the capabilities of the National Defense Forces (MNDF) of Maldives. He also visited the maritime assets of MNDF and appreciated the joint efforts of the Indian Navy and MNDF in maintaining the role of these assets. India is committed to augment the capacity building efforts of MNDF. INS Sutlej has been deployed in Maldives for the purpose of conducting joint hydrographic surveys under the MoU on Hydrographic Cooperation. A reception was organized onboard INS Sutlej by Admiral Kumar on 18 April 2022 in honor of Maldivian Defense Minister Maria Ahmed Didi.

6.’Kisan Bhagidari, Priority Hamari’ will be organized from 25th April to 30th April 2022 as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in collaboration with various other Ministries/Departments of Government of India as part of ‘ Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav ‘ from 25th to 30th April, 2022 ‘ Farmers Participation, Priority Ours ‘‘ is organizing the campaign. During this campaign, the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare will organize nationwide programs for the farmers at the regional level. Agriculture Research and Education Department will organize Krishi Mela and field exhibition on natural farming in each Krishi Vigyan Kendra. Union Agriculture Minister will launch nationwide workshop on Crop Insurance organized by Common Service Center (CSC). A National Self-Reliant India Conference will be organized for selected 75 farmers and entrepreneurs on this occasion. Agricultural development in the last 75 years will be depicted during the campaign. This will include achievements like Green Revolution and self-reliance in food production. Farmer Participation Priority More than one crore farmers and other stakeholders are expected to participate in our campaign.

8.Collaboration between NITI Aayog and UNICEF to prepare India’s first report on ‘Status of Children in India: Status and Trends in Multidimensional Child Development’

Government think tank NITI Aayog and UNICEF-India joined hands to work towards achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals related to children in the country. NITI Aayog and UNICEF India jointly titled ‘ The Status of Children in India: Status and Trends in Multidimensional Child Development ‘‘ will develop and launch the first report on The report will lay out a framework to understand health and nutrition, education, water and sanitation, household living standards and child-friendly environment in the states. This effort will contribute to India’s commitments to the 2030 Agenda by providing a set of policy suggestions for concerted action in terms of rapid progress towards the SDGs and ensuring holistic development of all children. One out of every third person in India is a teenager under the age of 18, while one out of every fifth person is a teenager between the ages of 10 and 19. NITI Aayog and UNICEF India collaboration for the first report on ‘Children’s State of India’ focusing on multidimensional aspects of child development such as health, nutrition, education, water and sanitation, safety and other relevant issues methods, technical analysis, Reporting and developing action plans. The project will take a whole-society approach involving all stakeholders including central ministries, state governments, academia, civil society organisations, child rights and civil rights groups.

9.China and Solomon Islands sign security agreement
