1 PM Modi presented Sohrai painting of Jharkhand to Putin at BRICS summit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted Jharkhand artwork to President Vladimir Putin during the recent BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia. Sohrai paintings from Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand showcase the beauty of the indigenous art of the region . Sohrai paintings have been recognised under the One District One Product scheme. Sohrai paintings are known for their natural colours. Artists use twigs, brushes made of rice husks or their fingers to create them. Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted Maharashtra ‘s unique artwork to the leaders of Iran and Uzbekistan during the BRICS Summit. He gifted a Mother of Pearl Sea Shell Vase, a work of coastal craftsmanship, to the President of Iran . Prime Minister Modi gifted a Warli painting to the President of Uzbekistan , which is made by the Warli community living in Dahanu, Talasari and Palghar regions of Maharashtra. This art reflects simplicity, nature and daily life. This tribal art is one of the oldest arts of India, whose origin is believed to be in 3000 BC.
2 Gujarat Tourism: ‘Barda Wildlife Sanctuary’, the second home of Asiatic lions in the state, inaugurated on Dhanteras
A new place is going to be added for tourists in Gujarat . On the day of Dhanteras i.e. on October 29, the second new sanctuary of Asiatic lions i.e. Barda Wildlife Sanctuary and Barda Jungle Safari Phase-1 will be inaugurated at Kapurdi Checkpost of Devbhoomi Dwarka . State Forest and Environment Minister Mulubhai Bera will inaugurate it on Tuesday. Asiatic lions are very famous in the world and are found only in Junagadh Forest Range of Gujarat. 368 plant species are found in Barda Wildlife Sanctuary, which include 59 types of trees, 83 types of plants, 200 types of shrubs and 26 vine species.

4 Airbus launches state-of-the-art headquarters and training centre in India
Airbus has inaugurated its new headquarters and training centre in India and South Asia , marking a significant investment in the Indian aerospace sector. Located in the National Capital Region (NCR), the facility aims to train pilots and technicians and expand Airbus’ industrial presence in India. The centre is equipped with four A320 simulators and has the capacity to train 800 pilots and 200 technicians annually. At the inauguration event, Michael Schöllhorn, CEO of Airbus Defence and Space, emphasised the company’s commitment to boosting India’s aerospace ecosystem.

6 India provides solar rooftop systems to Sri Lanka for religious places
India provided solar rooftop systems for religious places to Sri Lanka , taking forward energy partnership with neighbouring countries . Representatives of the Indian High Commissioner, Ceylon Electricity Board and Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority donated solar panels and other materials for four major religious places in Colombo. These places include Buddhist Temple at Hokandara, Sri Anjaneya Temple, St. Anthony’s Church and Mutwal Jumma Masjid . This initiative is part of the US$ 17 million Indian project to install solar rooftop systems at 5000 religious places in Sri Lanka. The project, which aims to reduce energy expenditure and support the country’s move towards renewable energy, is spread across all 9 provinces and 25 districts of Sri Lanka. This initiative is in line with India’s Neighbourhood First policy which emphasizes cooperation according to Sri Lanka’s priorities. This includes solar electrification of Buddhist temples, hybrid energy project and other energy cooperation.

8 Government announced additional pension for senior citizens above 80 years of age
The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) has announced an important new initiative for Central Government pensioners by introducing an additional pension, called “ Sensitive Allowance ”, for pensioners of the age of 80 years and above . Under this new initiative, guidelines have been issued to simplify the process for pensioners to access this additional benefit. Pension enhancement as per age group 80 to 85 years: 20% of basic pension/sensitive allowance 85 to 90 years: 30% of basic pension/sensitive allowance 90 to 95 years: 40% of basic pension/sensitive allowance 95 to 100 years: 50% of basic pension/sensitive allowance 100 years and above: 100% of basic pension/sensitive allowance

On this occasion, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi said that ‘Phool Walon Ki Sair’ is not just a festival but it has maintained the centuries-old tradition of Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb of Delhi. She said that such festivals bring people together and these festivals are the true identity of Delhi’s unity and diversity.
