1 PM Modi will be given Dominica’s highest national honor
The Dominica government has announced to honour Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with its highest national honour ‘ Dominica Award of Honour ‘ for his help during Covid-19 . He will be given this honour during a ceremony at the India-CARICOM Summit (19-21 November) held in Georgetown, Guyana . Dominica President Sylvanie Berton will present this award. In February 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi provided 70,000 doses of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine to Dominica . This gift enabled Dominica to extend assistance to its Caribbean neighbours. Papua New Guinea has also honoured PM Modi with the highest honour of its country. He was given the ‘Grand Companion of the Order of Logohu’ in May 2023. France has also given its highest honour to PM Modi. On July 13, 2023, France honoured PM Modi with the ‘Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour’. PM Modi received the ‘The Grand Cross of the Order of Honor’ honor from Greece on 25 August 2023. At the same time, PM Modi was awarded the ‘King Hamad Order of the Renaissance’ by the King of Bahrain in the year 2019.

As part of the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Baku , Azerbaijan, the Global Alliance for Banking on Values has announced that 25 of its member banks have ratified the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty . This is the first collective approval of this initiative by financial institutions. This treaty proposes a global binding plan to stop the expansion of new coal, oil and gas projects . By ratifying the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty, these 25 banks have urged the financial sector to take meaningful action against climate change. This global alliance was established in the year 2009. It is a network of 70 banks, which operate in every major region of the world. Collectively these banks manage 117 billion dollars and provide services to more than 11.3 million people around the world. Delegates from nearly 200 countries, business leaders, climate scientists, journalists and other experts and stakeholders will attend the conference amid calls from rich nations for funding to combat the climate crisis.
The Army ‘s Jaipur -based South Western Command has set up a think tank called ‘ Gyan Shakti ‘ with an aim to empower Rajasthan’s defence industrial base . The initiative aims to provide a platform for discussion and collaboration between the armed forces, industry, state government and academia on defence and security-related issues at the regional and national levels. The think tank will utilise the insights of experienced military officers on defence and national security, who will provide valuable suggestions for self-reliance in defence manufacturing. The Rajasthan chief minister aims to transform the state into a $350 billion economy by 2029, in which defence manufacturing will play a key role.
6 Uttar Pradesh’s first double-decker electric bus launched by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has recently launched the state’s first AC double-decker electric city bus . This bus is being run by the Urban Transport Directorate between Kamta Bus Station and Amausi. AC double-decker electric roadways buses will be run from Lucknow to five major cities. Now the Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation (Roadways) administration is also going to run AC double-decker electric buses.

Delhi Metro has launched a new bike taxi service through its official app DMRC Momentum (Delhi Saarthi 2.0) . The service is launched on 11 November 2024 in partnership with First And Last Mile Connectivity India Pvt. Ltd. , which also includes an exclusive bike taxi option for women , which will boost passenger convenience and safety.
10 Indian economy will grow at a rate of 6.5 to 7 percent by FY 2026-27: S&P
Regarding the country’s economic growth rate, S&P Global Ratings released its estimate on Thursday that India will grow at an annual growth rate of 6.5 to 7 percent in the three financial years till March 31, 2027. The rating agency has said in its Global Bank Outlook Report that the Indian economy is expected to grow between 6.5 to 7 percent annually in the three financial years (2024-25, 2025-26 and 2026-27) till March 31, 2027, due to growth driven by spending on infrastructure and private consumption. Earlier, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has projected India’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate to be 7.2 percent for the current financial year 2024-25. In the last financial year 2023-24, the country’s economic growth rate was 8.2 percent.
