1.Group of 136 countries signed historic global treaty to introduce at least 15% corporate tax rate for large multinationals

A group of one hundred and thirty-six countries have signed a historic global treaty to introduce at least a 15 percent corporate tax rate for large multinationals . This agreement is likely to change the tax policy. With this, not only will the minimum corporate tax rate be applicable, but companies will also have to pay tax wherever they are operating and not just where they are headquartered. Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Developmentannounced this important agreement after several years of disagreement. The organization said that one hundred and thirty-six countries have agreed to this agreement and these countries contribute more than 90 percent of the global GDP. With this agreement, more than $125 billion of profits of the world’s 100 largest and most profitable multinational companies will be transferred to other countries of the world. This will ensure that these companies pay a fair share of the tax from where they operate and make profits. The new corporate tax rate will be applicable from 2023. Of the 140 countries involved in the process of the global tax treaty, 136 countries supported the agreement, excluding Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

2.Prime Minister Narendra Modi holds talks with the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Fredriksson, in New Delhi

India and Denmark signed four agreements to enhance mutual cooperation . These agreements are about skill development and entrepreneurship, traditional knowledge digital library, establishment of a Center of Excellence for Natural Refrigerant for Tropical Climate with Potential Uses and Mapping of Ground Water Resources and Water Bodies . Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Danish Prime Minister Matti Frederiksen held bilateral talks in New Delhi.

3.WMO released “The State of Climate Services 2021: Water” report

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) on October 5, 2021, “ The State of Climate Services 2021: Waterreleased its new report titled. According to the WHO, climate change increases the risk of water-related hazards such as floods and droughts. Climate change will also increase the number of people affected by water scarcity. According to this report, in 2018, 3.6 billion people worldwide had inadequate access to water for at least one month per year. This number is expected to exceed 5 billion by 2050. This report also states that, this situation is getting worse as only 0.5 percent of the water on earth is usable and fresh water is available. Water-related hazards have increased over the past 20 years. There has been a 134% increase in flood-related disasters since 2000 compared to the previous two decades. Although, The number and duration of droughts have increased by 29% during the same period. About two billion people in Africa live in water-scarce countries. They face a lack of safe drinking water and sanitation.

4.Heli-borne Survey Technology

Minister, Dr. Jitendra Singh on October 5, 2021 at the latest heli-borne survey techniques ( Heli-Borne Survey Technology of launch). Heli Survey Technology was introduced for groundwater management. Rajasthan, Punjab, Gujarat and Haryana in the first phaseHeli-borne survey is being done to the states. The survey was started on October 5 from Jodhpur in Rajasthan. Heli Survey Technology is developed by CSIR-NGRI Hyderabad. State-of-the-art technology, heli survey technology, will be used for mapping groundwater sources in arid regions. This survey will help in using ground water for drinking purposes. The heli-borne geophysical mapping technique will provide high-resolution 3D images for the subsurface to a depth of 500 m below ground level. This project has been developed with the objective of mapping potential groundwater sources and its management to provide safe drinking water to the people in water scarce arid regions of India.

5.PM to launch Indian Space Association on October 11

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, on October 11, 2021, through video conferencing, Indian Space Association (ISPA)will launch. He will also interact with representatives of the space industry on this historic occasion. ISPA is the premier industry association of space and satellite companies, which aspires to be the collective voice of the Indian space industry. ISPA will advocate relevant policies as well as ensure its engagement with all stakeholders in the Indian space sector, including the government and its agencies. Underlining the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Self-reliant India’, ISPA will help make India self-reliant, technologically advanced and a pioneer in the space sector. ISPA is represented by leading domestic as well as global companies with advanced capabilities in space and satellite technologies. Founding members of ISPALarsen & Toubro, Nelco (Tata Group), OneWeb, Bharti Airtel, MapmyIndia, Walchandnagar Industries and Anant Technology Limited . Other prominent members include Godrej, Hughes India, Azista-BST Aerospace Pvt Ltd, BEL, Centum Electronics, Maxar India.

6.Shipping Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal launches ‘MyPortApp’ for digital monitoring of port operations

The Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal has launched a port mobile application named MyPortApp in Kolkata . All the port details are digitally captured in this app and monitor the operations virtually. It is intended for port users to avail various port services. The objective of this app is to promote transparency and easy access to port related information. This app also contains various information like Vessel Berthing, Rake & Indent, Rake Acknowledgment, Container Status, Tariff, Bill & Port Holidays etc and can be used 24×7 (24×7 on all days in a week) from anywhere and directly The port can be reached.

7.Shri Jyotiraditya M Scindia launches Doon Drone Fair in Uttarakhand

Civil Aviation Minister Mr Jyotiradiya and Civil Aviation Minister, General (retd) Dr. VK Singh has Dehradun , Uttarakhand in Dehradun drone Fair 2021launched. Mr. Scindia launched the program with a demonstration of paragliding and also interacted with the companies that have showcased the prototype at the Doon Drone Fair. Drones and aerosports demonstrations were held during this. These included a paragliding demonstration by the Border Security Force, a paramotor demonstration by Harsh Sachan and an agricultural spraying drone demonstration by IOTechworld Aviation and Daksha. In addition, the event also included an emergency search and response drone demonstration with 3D-printed drones indigenously by the Drone Application and Research Center (DARC) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). This was followed by a brief survey drone demonstration by Aarav Unmanned Systems (AUS) under the proprietary scheme, as well as a training drone demonstration by Squadron Leader Varsha Kukreti (Retd).

8.India and Croatia to collaborate for academic research and skill building in traditional systems of medicine

The Ministry of AYUSH signed an MoU with Croatia on October 06, 2021 , paving the way for academic cooperation between the two countries in the field of India’s traditional systems of medicine , especially Ayurveda . The MoU was signed between All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) and Kvarner Health Tourism Cluster of Croatia. AIIA is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of AYUSH. The MoU with Croatia is an important step towards strengthening India’s relations with other countries and promoting academic research, clinical and educational activities, medical education, training and skill building.

9.RBI Monetary Policy Committee Announcements

The three-member Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) maintained a lenient stance and kept the repo rate unchanged at 4% to revive and sustain growth and mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. . The Monetary Policy Committee has also ensured that inflation remains within the target. The reverse repo rate was kept at 3.35% as before . The marginal standing facility (MSF) rate and the bank rate are also unchanged at 4.25% . This was the 8th time in a row that the RBI maintained status quo on the policy rate. The central bank last revised its policy rate on May 22, 2020 in an off-policy cycle to boost demand by cutting interest rates.

10.The annual international G-20 conference was held

The 13th Annual International G-20 Conference was held on 6 October 2021. India was represented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in this conference . During the conference, the Finance Minister mentioned that, in the backdrop of India assuming the G20 presidency in 2023, international policy coordination is working to identify vacuum areas. India is also working to strengthen the effectiveness of institutions like FATF (Financial Action Task Force) and IMF (International Monetary Fund). According to the Finance Minister, the G20 Presidency will provide an excellent platform for India to pursue its vision of a future that reflects sustainability, innovation, inclusivity and justice.

11.ICMR releases Mudra Toolbox in 5 Indian languages

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) released the “ Multilingual Dementia Research and Assessment (MUDRA) ” toolbox in five Indian languages on October 5, 2021 . The toolbox has been launched to expand access to and care for people with dementia . This toolbox is available in Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Telugu and MalayalamIncluding languages. The Mudra Toolbox project is being led by the ICMR Neuro-Cognitive Tool Box (ICMR-NCTB) partnership. It seeks to improve dementia and mild cognitive impairment research and therapeutic practices in India. To implement this project, ICMR-NCTB has partnered with AIIMS (New Delhi), NIMHANS (Bengaluru), NIMS (Hyderabad), SCTIMST (Thiruvananthapuram), Manipal Hospital (Bengaluru), Apollo Hospital (Kolkata) and Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College. collaborated with.

12.SVAMITVA: PM Modi distributes 1.7 lakh e-property cards in Madhya Pradesh

13.Business Summit organized on National Mission on Edible Oils-Oil Palm in North Eastern States

The “ National Mission on Edible Oil- Oil Palm Business Summit ” for North Eastern States was organized in Guwahati on 6th October, 2021 . The summit was organized in line with the Prime Minister’s vision for inclusive and balanced progress of the North East. The summit was started under the chairmanship of Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. The Government’s decision to make major interventions in the North Eastern States to promote Palm Oil, will turn the North Eastern States into Palm Oil Hubs of India. The special package and assistance for the northeastern states will bring about a change in the socio-economic condition of the farmers. It will also open up employment opportunities as it will lead to infrastructure development as well as setting up of palm oil mills.

14.Territorial Army celebrates its 72nd Raising Day

Territorial Army celebrated its 72nd Raising Day on 9th Octobercelebrated. On this occasion, the Director General of the Territorial Army, Lt Gen Preet Mohinder Singh paid tribute to the martyrs by laying a wreath at the National War Memorial. Several programs were organized across the country to commemorate this. Initially the Territorial Army consisted of infantry, armored corps, air defense artillery, signals, supplies and other departmental units. It was formally established on 9 October 1949 by the first Governor General C Rajagopalachari. According to the Ministry of Defense, the Territorial Army has several units belonging to different regiments of the Indian Army apart from the Harth Battalion based on the concept of Griha and Bhumi Putras. Engineer TA battalions are deployed for the maintenance of the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. The Territorial Army has ten Ecological TA Battalions which are involved in carrying out plantation in inaccessible and barren areas, rejuvenating wetlands, for environmental protection of the country.
