The Center for Oldest Ice Exploration ( COLDEX ) will soon be established to investigate the discovery of the oldest ice in Antarctica and to track changes in Earth’s climate over the past several million years . This exploration campaign was supported by America’s National Science Foundation.‘ and will include researchers from various universities. The primary objective of this study is to find out how Earth is currently behaving when it has warmed over the past million years. As part of this study, efforts will be made to find the oldest part of the ice in Antarctica. The information obtained through this study can be very important for continuing efforts to address climate change and its effects. The oldest record of Antarctic ice is currently about 800,000 years old, collected by drilling miles below the continent’s surface. Researchers hope that through this study, ice pieces ranging from 1.5 million years to 3 million years old will be discovered.

10.India-US Strategic Clean Energy Partnership

Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister, Hardeep Singh Puri and US energy secretary Jennifer Granhom co-chaired by a virtual ministerial meeting and revised Indo-US strategic Clean Energy Partnership ( US-India Strategic Clean Energy Partnership – SCEP) was launched. In this meeting, both sides reviewed progress and major achievements and prioritized new areas for cooperation across multiple pillars. The Indian side expressed that this Revised Clean Energy Partnership will intensify efforts to take advantage of the complementarities that exist between the two countries. He also announced the addition of the fifth pillar on Emerging Fuels as both countries seek to promote clean energy fuels. On the occasion, a new India-US Task Force on Biofuels was also announced to build on the scope of work on cooperation in the biofuels sector.
