4.Cabinet approves merger of Bank of Baroda, Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank, merged with the

Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet has approved its merger plan for the merger of Bank of Baroda , Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank. Bank of Baroda Transfer Bank and Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank will be the transfer bank.This is the first trilateral merger in India. After the merger, this bank will be the second largest public bank in India.The merger will help the bank to become a strong global competitive bank. In terms of size and mutual coordination, the bank will get the benefit of each other’s network , low cost deposits and the powers of the three subsidiaries of banks, and it will increase the consumer base, market access, operating capacity, product and service base.

     Key points of the merger plan: –

  • Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank are the transfer bank and the Bank of Baroda Transfer Bank is located.
  • The scheme will be effective from 01.04.2019 .
  • At the commencement of the scheme, all business transfers of transferring banks will be transferred to the bank and transferable bank will have all business assets , rights , ownership , claims , licenses , approvals , other privileges and all assets , all liabilities , liabilities and liabilities. .
  • All the permanent and regular officers of the transferee bank, or employee transfer officers, will have officers and employees. The salaries and allowances given to them in the transferable bank will not be less attractive by their pay and allowances of the banks.
