President Draupadi Murmu inaugurated and dedicated the Vishwashanti Buddha Vihar at Udgir in Latur district . She also installed a statue of Gautam Buddha inside the Vihar and paid floral tribute to the statue of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar . Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan , Chief Minister Eknath Shinde , Union Minister of State for Social Justice Ramdas Athawale and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis were present on the occasion. This Buddha Vihar is a replica of the Buddha Vihar located in Kalaburagi , Karnataka . Spread over 15 hectares, this Buddha Vihar has a meditation center that can accommodate 1,200 followers. Its main entrance has been built inspired by the Sanchi Stupa of Bihar .

On September 3, the Home Ministry issued a notification related to increasing the powers of the Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Delhi . President Draupadi Murmu has increased the powers of LG. Now LG will be able to form authority, board, commission or statutory body in the capital . LG will also be able to appoint members in authority, board, commission or statutory body. Earlier, this power was with the Delhi government . The ministry said that this decision has been taken under the National Capital Territory of Delhi Government Act, 1991. The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi can directly appoint councilors in MCD. For this, it is not necessary for him to consult the Delhi government. On July 13 this year, the central government had increased the administrative powers of the Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Jammu and Kashmir. Like Delhi, now in Jammu and Kashmir, the state government will not be able to post and transfer officers without the approval of LG. The Lieutenant Governor will now have more powers in matters related to police, law and order and All India Service (AIS).
3 Tripura peace agreement was signed in the presence of Amit Shah
On September 4, the Tripura Peace Accord was signed in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah . Representatives of the Government of India, the Government of Tripura, the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and the All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) signed the agreement. After this agreement, the NLFT announced the end of 35 years of armed struggle. 328 people of NLFT and ATTF will join together with this agreement. The central government also gave a package of Rs 250 crore for Tripura. NLFT and ATTF were one of the big armed organizations of Tripura. They used to demand the identity of tribal and adivasi people in Tripura. The Government of India assured both the groups not to compromise on the interests of the tribals. So far, about 10 thousand militants of Tripura have surrendered.
4 Indian Navy and South African Navy sign Implementation Agreement aimed at enhancing Submarine Rescue Support cooperation
In a significant milestone towards expanding bilateral naval cooperation, the Indian Navy and the South African Navy have signed an Implementation Agreement (IA) that ensures safety of South African Navy submarine crew in case of distress or accident. The agreement was signed by Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi and South African Navy Chief Vice Admiral Monde Lobese . Under the agreement, the Indian Navy will provide assistance to the South African Navy by deploying its Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle (DSRV) whenever required, thereby further strengthening the cooperative relationship between the two navies.

8 Paris Paralympics: Harvinder Singh created history by becoming the first Indian archer to win a gold medal
Paris Paralympics 2024 Harvinder Singh created history by winning the gold medal in the men’s individual archery recurve open final. He became the first Indian archer to win a gold medal in the Paralympics or Olympics. After this, in the final of men’s club throw F-51, Dharamveer won the gold medal by breaking the Asian record by throwing a distance of 34.92 meters. Pranav Surma won the silver medal in the same competition by throwing a distance of 34.59 meters.
9 Sachin Sarjerao won silver in shot put
