1 President inaugurated the National Tribal Festival ‘Aadi Mahotsav’
President Smt. Draupadi Murmu inaugurated the National Tribal Festival ‘Aadi Mahotsav’ in New Delhi. Aadi Mahotsav is being organized by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs from 16 to 24 February 2025 at Major Dhyanchand National Stadium, New Delhi. The festival aims to provide a glimpse of the rich and diverse traditional culture of the tribal communities of our country.
Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi met Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk at Blair House in Washington DC on 13 February 2025. During the meeting, Musk gifted PM Modi a hexagonal ceramic heatshield tile that was used on SpaceX ‘s Starship Test Flight 5 in October 2024. As part of the gift exchange, PM Modi also gifted Indian classical books to Musk’s children. The exchange symbolised deep collaboration between India and Musk’s companies in the fields of space, electric mobility and technology.
3 Indian Naval ships arrive in Indonesia to participate in International Fleet Review 2025 and multilateral naval exercise Komodo
Indian Naval Ship INS Shardul and Long Range Maritime Surveillance P8I aircraft are at Bali , Indonesia to participate in the International Fleet Review (IFR) 2025 scheduled from 15 February to 22 February 2025. The International Fleet Review, a prestigious multinational naval event, will be reviewed by the Hon’ble President of Indonesia and will see the participation of naval forces from various countries. After the International Fleet Review 2025, both INS Shardul and P8I will participate in Exercise Komodo , a multilateral naval exercise aimed at enhancing maritime cooperation and regional security cooperation. This event follows the participation of INS Mumbai and P8I aircraft in Exercise La Perouse in Indonesia in January 2025 and the visit of Admiral Mohammad Ali, Chief of Staff, Indonesian Navy to India as part of a high-level delegation accompanying His Excellency President Prabowo Subianto, the Chief Guest for the Republic Day Parade 2025 .
4 India-Japan joint military exercise to begin from February 25 at Mount Fuji
The sixth edition of the joint military exercise ‘ Dharma Guardian ‘ between India and Japan will be held from February 25 to March 9 at Mount Fuji in Japan , the Indian Army said on Sunday. The aim of this exercise is to enhance interoperability between the two armies while carrying out urban warfare and counter-terrorism operations under the mandate of the United Nations.
The 8th Indian Ocean Conference is being organised by the India Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman on February 16-17, 2025 in Muscat, Oman . The theme of the conference this year is Journeys to New Horizons of Maritime Partnership . Addressing the opening session of the ‘8th Indian Ocean Conference’, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar described the Indian Ocean as a ‘global lifeline’. He said its production, consumption, contribution and connectivity are central to the way the world operates today.
6 Meta will lay 50,000 km long undersea cable in the sea between India and America
Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, has announced a 50,000 kilometer long undersea cable project ‘Waterworth’. The aim of this project is to increase digital connectivity between India and America . It is believed that this project will start a new era of high-speed internet connectivity between the two countries and will also support India’s digital ecosystem. Meta said that the new project Water Birth will provide industry-leading connectivity in America, India, Brazil, South Africa and other important regions and this project can be completed by the end of this decade. The company further said that Project Water Birth will increase economic cooperation between these areas, increase digital access and open new opportunities for technology development. Once this project is completed, it will connect five continents of the world and its length will be 50,000 kilometers. It will be the world’s longest marine cable project built using the highest capacity technology available.

8 World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES), IEIC and Winzo launch Tech Triumph Season 3 to showcase India’s gaming innovation at global platforms
Tech Triumph Programme (TTP) has been launched by Interactive Entertainment and Innovation Council (IEIC) in partnership with Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) under Create in India Challenge Season – 1. Ahead of the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) , the challenge will identify, recognise and showcase India’s gaming talent on the international platform of WAVES and India Pavilion at Game Developer Conference, 2025. The initiative is in line with India’s vision of becoming a global superpower in gaming technology and intellectual property, fuelled by the growth of India’s AVGC and (extended reality) XR sectors, which now contribute significantly to the economy. According to a FICCI-EY report, digital and online gaming has seen the highest growth in the Indian media sector.
9 NTPC wins Forward Faster Sustainability Award 2025 on Water Resilience
NTPC Limited, India’s largest integrated power company has been awarded the ‘ Forward Faster Sustainability Award 2025 ’ by the United Nations Global Compact Network India (UN GCNI) . The award was given for outstanding contribution in water conservation and sustainable water management. The award was received by Shri Harekrishna Dash, ED (Sustainability, Environment & ASH) and Shri K Karthikeyan, AGM (Environment & Sustainability) in recognition of the company’s outstanding efforts in water conservation and sustainable water management initiatives. The Forward Faster Sustainability Awards honour organisations in India that have made significant progress in advancing sustainability and corporate responsibility in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 10 Famous actor Pankaj Tripathi becomes co-founder of audio stories platform VELVET
Pankaj Tripathi , who is famous for films like “ Stree 2 ”, “ Gangs of Wasseypur ”, and “ Bareilly Ki Barfi ”, has now entered the world of audio storytelling . He has co-founded “ Velvet ”, which launched in October 2024. Velvet is a cinematic audio storytelling platform that offers immersive storytelling experiences. The platform focuses on Hindi audio content, but will also be expanded to English and other Indian languages.
