1 President Murmu presented the National Florence Nightingale Awards 2024 to outstanding nursing personnel
President Draupadi Murmu on Wednesday (September 11, 2024) presented the National Florence Nightingale Awards for the year 2024 to nursing professionals at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The award consists of a citation and prize money of Rs 1 lakh . On this occasion, Union Health Minister JP Nadda thanked President Draupadi Murmu. Actually, the National Florence Nightingale Award was established by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to recognize and honor the commendable services rendered by outstanding nursing personnel. President Draupadi Murmu has presented the National Florence Nightingale Awards to 15 distinguished nurses and ANMs at Rashtrapati Bhavan . These nurses and midwives play an important role in enhancing the health and well-being of the nation. Nurses are at the forefront of the world facing significant challenges such as pandemics, climate change, and conflict, playing an important role in solving these issues with ease and supporting the health system. Florence Nightingale is widely regarded as the founder of modern nursing. She was born on May 12, 1820 in Florence, Italy. In honor of her contribution to the nursing field, International Nurses Day is celebrated every year on her birthday i.e. May 12. Her work during the Crimean War (1853-1856) revolutionized health care practices and laid the foundation of trained nursing as a respected profession for women.
2 PM Modi inaugurates SEMICON India 2024 exhibition
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Semicon India 2024 exhibition on September 11 at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida . The event is being held at Knowledge Park 2 and will run till September 13. Leading semiconductor manufacturing companies from around the world are participating in this exhibition. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav were also present with the PM. According to the schedule of Semicon India 2024, the exhibition will be held from 10 am to 6 pm on all three days from September 11 to 13. Semiconductor manufacturers from all over the world have set up their stalls in it. A smart manufacturing workshop will be organized on the first day. A presentation will also be made on the semiconductor ecosystem in India. On the second day, cross regional partnerships, flexible hybrid electronics, supply chain management, mighty industry academia workshop and sustainability sessions will be organized. On the last day, there will be a presentation by Micron on the journey of semiconductors so far by Package Manufacturing Bootcamp IESA. An introduction to semiconductor fabrication will also be provided. Semiconductor chips are made of silicon which controls electricity in the circuit. This chip helps gadgets to operate like a brain and without it any electronic instrument is incomplete.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch ‘ Subhadra Yojana ‘ in Bhubaneswar , Odisha on 17th of this month on the occasion of his 74th birthday . He will arrive at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar and later launch the Odisha government’s Subhadra Yojana at a public meeting at Janata Maidan. In the last assembly elections, BJP had promised to implement this scheme for women. Under the scheme, women beneficiaries aged between 21 to 60 years will get Rs 10 thousand per year for the next five years . The first installment of Rs 5 thousand will be released on the day of launch of the scheme. The state government aims to cover more than one crore women under this scheme.
4 Indian Government launched website with technical terms in 22 languages
The Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology (CSTT), under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Education, has launched a unique website on September 10. Technical terms in 22 official Indian languages will be provided on this website. Its aim is to become a central collection or repository of all glossaries prepared for Indian languages. Apart from CSTT, other institutions or agencies can also present their dictionary in digital form on this platform. At present, 450 dictionaries of 30 lakh words are available on the website. At present, a total of 322 glossaries containing about 22,00,000 words are available on searching on the portal. Its ultimate goal is to provide 450 glossaries. The website aims to support efforts to provide dictionaries of all technical education including medicine and engineering in Indian languages. CSTT was established in 1961 with the aim of developing and defining scientific and technical terms in Hindi and all Indian languages. It regularly publishes a large number of textbooks and monographs. Apart from this CSTT also publishes quarterly magazines named ‘Vishnavi Garima Sindhu’ and ‘Gyan Garima Sindhu’.
Elon Musk ‘s company SpaceX ‘s Polaris Dawn mission was launched on September 10. In the Polaris Dawn mission, 4 astronauts are going to do a spacewalk in space about 700 kilometers above the Earth . This will be the world’s first private spacewalk . The Crew Dragon capsule of this mission was launched from SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket . This mission was to be launched on August 27 but it had to be postponed due to helium leak and bad weather. Astronauts Jared Isaacman and Sarah Gillis will do a spacewalk 700 km above the Earth on the third day of this mission. This walk will be of 15-20 minutes. However, this entire process will take about 2 hours. During this mission, the Dragon capsule will try to reach a height where no one has gone since the Apollo program. Here two astronauts will do the first private extravehicular activity (spacewalk) . During this, they will wear SpaceX’s developed EVA suit . During the mission, 36 research studies and experiments related to human health will also be done. Apart from this, Starlink ‘s laser-based communication will be tested in space . This will be the first time that two SpaceX employees will be part of a human spaceflight crew.
6 National Security Advisor Ajit Doval at the meeting of security advisors of BRICS countries
National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has said that modern security challenges, including issues related to information and communication technology and terrorism, should be addressed through joint efforts within the BRICS framework. He was speaking at the meeting of security advisors of BRICS countries in St. Petersburg, Russia . Mr. Doval’s visit to Russia comes at a time when Russian President Vladimir Putin and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni are acknowledging that both India and China can play an important role in resolving the Ukraine conflict.
7 India needs an investment of Rs 30 lakh crore to achieve 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030
Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Prahlad Joshi has said that India needs an investment of Rs 30 lakh crore to achieve 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by the year 2030. He said this while announcing the organization of the ‘ 4th Global Renewable Energy Investor Meet-Expo-RE-Invest 2024 ‘ in New Delhi . Mr Joshi said that for the first time the exhibition will be held outside Delhi from 16 to 18 September in Gandhinagar , Gujarat .
8 Union Minister Kiren Rijiju inaugurated six portals as 100 days achievements of the ministry
Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju inaugurated six initiatives as 100 days achievements of the Ministry in New Delhi . He launched National e-Vidhan Application 2.0, Subordinate Legislation Management System , Consultative Committee Management System , National Youth Parliament Scheme 2.0 and Eklavya Model Residential School Initiative. These initiatives aim to achieve paperless legislative environment, promote real-time governance and lead to better decision making. Shri Rijiju also launched a new scheme of National Youth Parliament Competition for students of Eklavya Model Residential Schools. This will strengthen the roots of democracy and by organizing National Youth Parliament Competitions every year, tribal students will be introduced to the functioning of Parliament and parliamentary institutions.
9 The Union Cabinet has approved health coverage to all senior citizens above 70 years of age under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.

Giving information to the media after the cabinet meeting in Delhi, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that this decision will provide free treatment facility to senior citizens up to Rs 5 lakh . He said that about four and a half crore families and six crore senior citizens of the country will benefit from this. Eligible senior citizens will get a new unique card under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana under this scheme. will be issued
10 Union Cabinet approves PM E-Bus Service Payment Security Mechanism Scheme
The Union Cabinet has approved the PM-eBus Service-Payment Security Mechanism Scheme for the purchase and operation of e-buses by public transport authorities with an outlay of Rs 3,435 crore . Under this scheme , more than 38 thousand electric buses will be operated from the year 2024-25 to 2028-29. The dedicated fund for this scheme will ensure timely payment to the operators and these e-buses will be operated for 12 years from their deployment. The scheme will encourage private sector participation in the operation of e-buses. This will significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions that harm the environment and will also reduce the consumption of fossil fuels.
11 Madhya Pradesh became the first state in the country to provide AYUSH services in all the primary health centers of urban areas
Madhya Pradesh has become the first state in the country to provide AYUSH facilities in all 328 primary health centres in urban areas. Whereas, out of 1440 primary health centres in rural areas, 695 have AYUSH facilities and this facility is being expanded in the remaining health centres as well. Madhya Pradesh is at third place in the country with the availability of AYUSH doctors in 228 primary and community health centres in tribal areas. Odisha is at first place with 296 doctors and Chhattisgarh is at second place with 279 doctors. . This information was given by Public Relations Officer Avnish Somkuvar on Wednesday.
12 Nagaland government approves implementation of Inner Line Permit for Dimapur, Chumoukedima and Newland districts
The Nagaland government has approved the implementation of Inner Line Permit for Dimapur, Chumoukedima and Newland districts. The decision was taken in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio . Under the Inner Line Permit system, residents of Dimapur will be classified into three categories , category-I and II residents will be exempted from the requirement of Inner Line Permit. Category-I includes persons who settled in Dimapur before 1st December, 1963. These persons will not require Inner Line Permit and will be given smart cards. They will also have the option to obtain Permanent Resident Certificate and Domicile Certificate. The second category relates to persons who settled in Dimapur between 1st December, 1963 and 21st November, 1979. These persons will also not require Inner Line Permit and will be issued Permanent Resident Certificate with the option to obtain Domicile Certificate. The third category comprises those who settled in Dimapur on or after November 22, 1979. This group will be required to obtain Inner Line Permit to stay in the district. Certain groups, including students, teachers, technical professionals and business partners, will be issued Inner Line Permits valid for two to five years, depending on their purpose of staying in the state, the minister said. The digital system is being strengthened to simplify its application process.

T.G. English School of Manipur has won the Junior Boys Cup title in the 63rd Subroto Cup International Football Tournament. They defeated Mingken Christian Higher Secondary School of Meghalaya 4-3 in the final played at BR Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi . Manipur has won this prestigious title for the first time in 44 years and won the Subroto Cup for the third time in history. Subroto Cup is one of the oldest tournaments in Asia. This tournament steeped in tradition aims to promote football at the grassroots level in the country.
