1 Prime Minister flags off nine Vande Bharat Express trains

Prime Minister  Shri Narendra Modi  flagged   off nine Vande Bharat trains  through  video conferencing . These new Vande Bharat trains are a step towards realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of improving connectivity across the country and providing world-class facilities to rail passengers. The new trains that were flagged off are:

  1. Udaipur- Jaipur Vande Bharat Express
  2. Tirunelveli-Madurai-Chennai Vande Bharat Express
  3. Hyderabad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express
  4. Vijayawada-Chennai (via Renigunta) Vande Bharat Express
  5. Patna-Howrah Vande Bharat Express
  6. Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat Express
  7. Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Puri Vande Bharat Express
  8. Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat Express
  9. Jamnagar-Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express

These nine trains  will boost connectivity in 11 states – Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, Odisha, Jharkhand and Gujarat. The Prime Minister informed that 25 Vande Bharat trains are serving the people in various states and union territories. He said that 9 more Vande Bharat trains are being added to it and the day is not far when Vande Bharat will connect every part of the country.

2 A contingent of the Indian Army leaves for the United States of America for “Exercise Yudh Abhyas-23” to be held at Fort Wainwright, Alaska.

The 19th edition of “ Exercise Yudh Abhyas ”   is being held at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, USA from 25 September  to   8 October 2023 . It   is an annual exercise jointly conducted by the Indian Army and the US Army . The previous edition of the exercise   was conducted in Auli, Uttarakhand,  India  in November 2022 . A contingent of 350 Indian Army personnel will participate in this edition of the exercise. A battalion attached to the Maratha Light Infantry Regiment will lead the Indian Army in the exercise.

3. Arogya Manthan 2023 organized on the occasion of completion of 5 years of Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY and 2 years of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.

 On completion of five years  of  Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY)  and  two years  of  Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM),  National Health Authority (NHA)  and  Ministry of Health and Family Welfare  (MoHFW) launched ‘ Arogya Manthan ‘.‘Organizing the event. Informative discussions and deliberations on challenges, trends and best practices related to both the schemes will be organized during the two-day event (25 and 26 September 2023) at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY, launched on 23 September 2018, has written a new saga of health, productivity and prosperity. 5.5 crore beneficiaries of this scheme got admitted in hospitals free of cost on which Rs 69,000 crore worth was spent by the government. ABDM, launched on 27 September 2021, is a very ambitious scheme of the government, which aims to create a digital pathway connecting various stakeholders of the healthcare ecosystem. More than 45 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA) have been created in the last 2 years. Additionally, more than 30 crore health records are linked to these ABHA accounts.

4 India and UN launch joint capacity building initiative for the Global South

India and United Nations  launch   joint  capacity building campaign for the Global South  . Its objective is to share India’s development experience, best practices and expertise with the countries of the South. The campaign was announced   at the India-UN South Africa event  in  New York .  The India United Nations campaign will join the already running  India United Nations Development Partnership Fund . Under this,  75 development projects have been going on in 61 countries for the last six years. Are. Under this campaign, the United Nations India team and the Bill & Melinda Foundation will cooperate through India’s Technical and Economic Cooperation Platform. A joint expression of interest in this regard was exchanged between the UN Habitat Coordinator in India and the Bill & Melinda Foundation. Under this campaign, support will also be provided in implementing the development programs undertaken under India’s chairmanship of G-20. This also includes the G-20 Action Plan for Accelerating on SDGs, Technological Transformation and Building Digital Public Infrastructure.

5 India, Israel, UAE and America announced joint space venture

The I2U2 Group  of  India, Israel, United Arab Emirates and the US  has announced  a new  joint space venture . It aims to develop a unique space based tool for policy makers, institutions and entrepreneurs. The group of four countries also launched its own website to increase cooperation among member countries and partnerships around the world.

6 Meeting of Quad Foreign Ministers on the sidelines of UNGA

 Foreign ministers of Quad group  countries  India, Australia, Japan and America  met  on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session  in  New York . External Affairs Minister  S Jaishankar , US Secretary of State  Antony Blinken , Australia’s Foreign Minister  Penny Wong  and Japan’s Foreign Minister  Yoko Kamikawa were present in the meeting. participated. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar met Japan’s Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa during the United Nations General Assembly session in New York. The Quad reiterates its firm commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific that is inclusive and resilient, the Quad foreign ministers said in a joint statement. We the Quad leaders recommit to carrying forward the vision expressed in Hiroshima on 20 May 2023.

7 Assam’s Vishwanath Ghat selected as India’s best tourist village in 2023

In a recent announcement,  the Ministry of Tourism  has   declared Biswanath Ghat  in  Assam  as the Best Tourism Village of India  for   the year 2023 . The recognition comes after an extensive selection process that included the review of 791 applications from 31 different states and union territories across the country.  Expressing happiness over the achievement, Assam Chief Minister  Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted the immense efforts made by the government to promote rural tourism in the state. Biswanath Ghat situated to the south of Vishwanath Chariyali town is known as ‘Gupta Kashi’. The name is derived from the ancient Vishwanath temple of the city and has parallels with Kashi during the famous Gupta Empire era.

8 Documentaries made on Rabindranath Tagore – Shinapotra-Padma Pare Rabindranath were screened by the Indian High Commission in Bangladesh.

Indian High Commission  in   Bangladesh  screened  Shinapotra  -Padma Pare Rabindranath, a documentary film  on Rabindranath Tagore . Directed by Dr. Chanchal Khan,  this film   is based on the letters written  by  Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore to his niece Indira Devi . Tagore wrote these letters during his stay in Bangladesh between 1889 and 1895. On this occasion, India’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma said that Tagore has the extraordinary distinction of writing the national anthems of both Bangladesh and India. Tagore received the Nobel Prize for Literature for his work Gitanjali. He was the first non-European poet to win the Nobel Prize.

9 Axis Bank launches ‘Neo for Business’ banking platform for MSMEs

Axis Bank has announced the launch of  ‘ Neo for Business ‘. It is a  special transaction banking platform  specially   designed for Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) . It is a first-of-its-kind offering designed for the real, current and emerging transaction banking needs of MSMEs. There are more than 6.5 crore MSMEs in India, with a contribution of more than 30% to the GDP, MSMEs are the backbone of the economy.

10 Finance Ministry confident, despite risks, growth rate may remain at 6.5 percent in FY24

The Finance Ministry  expressed confidence that the country   will achieve 6.5 percent growth rate in the current financial year despite risks of rising crude oil prices and lack of monsoon. The main reason for this is the improvement in profitability of companies, private capital formation and bank credit growth. The Finance Ministry’s monthly economic review for August said that strong domestic demand, consumption and investment were the main reasons behind the growth rate of 7.8 percent in the April-June quarter. Various high-frequency indicators like GST collections, power consumption, freight movement etc. also recorded growth.

11 Zagorochoria, located on Mount Pindos in Epirus, added to UNESCO World Heritage List

A group of traditional, picturesque villages  on  Mount Pindos  in  Epirus ,  known as Zagorochoria (or Villages of Zagori)  , was recently   added to the UNESCO World Heritage List . This important decision  was taken during  the 45th session of the World Heritage Committee   in  Riyadh , Saudi Arabia  ,   marking an important milestone in Greece ‘s cultural heritage conservation efforts.

12 Adani Group ready to redevelop Dharavi, one of Asia’s largest slums

Taking a significant step towards rehabilitating one of Asia’s biggest slums, billionaire  Gautam Adani  has   formed a joint venture with Mumbai  ‘s Slum Rehabilitation Authority  to redevelop Mumbai  ‘s slum  Dharavi . The redevelopment of Dharavi, which has a population of about 10 lakh, has been pending for decades. An Adani Group spokesperson confirmed the formation of an entity called Dharavi Redevelopment Project Private Limited.

13 TCS partners with BankID BankAxept to strengthen Norway’s financial infrastructure

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)  has   joined hands with Norway  ‘s  national payment and electronic identification system ,  BankID BankAxept . The collaboration is set  to strengthen Norway’s financial infrastructure  , focusing on flexibility, security and availability. Norway’s national payments system, Bankaccept, stands at the core of the country’s payments ecosystem. BankID is an electronic identity verification solution in Norway. More than 90% of Norway’s population, financial institutions, public entities and commercial enterprises rely on BankID for secure identity verification.

14 India won 5 medals on the first day of Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, Nikhat Zareen reached pre-quarterfinals of boxing.

On the first day  of  the Asian Games ,  India   is ranked seventh  in the medal table after winning  a total of five medals including three silver and two bronze medals. India’s medal winning streak  started in shooting  by the Indian team of  Mehuli Ghosh, Ramita and Aashi Choukse  by winning the silver medal in the 10 meter air rifle event . Ramita  won  bronze medal in individual competition  . In rowing , Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh  won silver medals  in the men’s lightweight double sculls event  . India also won silver medal in eight competition. Babu Lal and Lekh Ram  won bronze medal in pair competition  .

15 19th Asian Games begins in Hangzhou, China

Asian Games have started in  Hangzhou China   .  Indian men  ‘s hockey team captain  Harmanpreet Singh  and  boxer Lovlina Borgohai  led the Indian contingent at the opening ceremony. At the ceremony, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced the opening of the Games. 655 athletes from India have reached China to participate in 39 sports. Earlier, India had won 16 gold medals in the 2018 Asian Games, which was India’s best performance in these games so far.

16 Italian racer Marco Bezzecchi becomes India’s first Indian Grand Prix champion.

 Creating history at  the Buddha International Circuit  in  Greater Noida ,  adjacent to  the national capital Delhi, Italian racer Marco Bezzecchi won  India’s first  Indian Grand Prix. (Indian Grand Prix)  in his name. Mooney VR46 Racing Team  ‘s Marco displayed great skill and spirit to win the inaugural Indian Grand Prix.  Sunday was the last and final race of  MotoGP Bharat 2023 . Uttar Pradesh (UP)  Chief Minister   Yogi  Adityanath  organized  MotoGP Bharat 2023 in Greater Noida.  The trophy was handed over to  the winner Italian rider  Marco Bezzecchi . Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur and Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri were also present on this occasion. Earlier, CM Yogi   also reached the circuit to watch the MotoGP race. During this tour, he was also seen accepting the greetings of the audience.

17 India became number-1 in all three formats of ICC

The three-match ODI series  between  India and Australia  started on 22 September. Team India’s acting captain  KL Rahul  won the toss and decided to bowl first. Australia scored 276 runs in 50 overs. In reply, Team India won the match by scoring 281 runs in 48.4 overs. With this victory, India   reached first place in the ICC ODI rankings . He was already on top in T20 and Test.  In this way India has become number-1 in all three formats at the same time  . Team India created history with the victory under the captaincy of KL Rahul.  They became the second team to reach first place in all three formats at the same time. South Africa before  Had done this. She was at the first position in Test-ODI and T20 simultaneously in August 2012.
