1.G20 Summit 2020: PM Modi called for Spirit of trusteeship towards planet Earth at 15th G20 Summit:- Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the 15th G20 Leaders Summit on November 21, 2020. The two-day summit was convened by Saudi Arabia, chair of G20 for this year. The summit saw the participation of the heads of governments of 19 member countries, the European Union and other invited countries and international organizations. It was conducted virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While speaking at the summit, PM Narendra Modi congratulated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its leadership for its successful Presidency of the G20 in 2020 and for organizing the second virtual G20 Summit in 2020 despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 outbreak.

2.Prime Minister Modi lays the foundation stone of rural drinking water projects in UP:- Prime Minister Modi on November 22, 2020, laid the foundation stone of rural drinking water projects via video conferencing in Sonbhadra and Mirzapur districts in Vindhyachal, Uttar Pradesh. During the event, Prime Minister also interacted with the village water and sanitation committee members. The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath was also present at the event. In his address, he stated that in 70 years drinking water supply projects can be regulated only in 398 villages in the Vindhya region. He continued that today, the government will take forward such projects in over 3,000 villages of the region.

3.China to launch spacecraft to Moon to bring back lunar rocks, first attempt since 1970s:- China is all set to launch an unmanned spacecraft to the moon this week for bringing back the lunar rocks. It will be the first attempt by any nation in the world for retrieving the samples from the natural satellite of Earth since the 1970s.Named after the ancient Chinese Goddess of the moon, Chang’e-5 probe will seek on collecting the materials from the moon. It will help the scientists to understand more about its origin and surface. If China becomes successful in its mission, it will become the third country to retrieve moon samples, following the Soviet Union and the United States decades ago. The mission will also be testing China’s ability to remotely acquire the samples from space. China also plans on retrieving the samples from Mars by 2030. In July 2020, China had also launched an unmanned probe to Mars. It was its first independent mission to another planet.

4.30th India-Thailand Coordinated Patrol:- The 30th edition of the India-Thailand Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) was conducted between the Indian Navy and the Royal Thai Navy. Corporate was started on 18 November and ended on 21 November 2020.The Indian Naval Ship (INS) became part of Karmuk Corporate and the Crabri Ship represented the Thailand side.

5.Maharashtra Habitat Scheme:-CM of Maharashtra State Shri Uddhav Thackeray has launched a new scheme called ” Maha Awas Yojana ” on 21 November 2020 . According to the Maha Awas Yojana , over 8.82 lakh rural houses will be constructed in a span of 100 days.The plan will also cover the construction of toilets. About 4000 crore rupees will be spent on this project. The scheme will cover middle income groups whose annual income is more than Rs 6 lakh and less than Rs 18 lakh.

6.MasterCard Launches Project Kiran for Women Empowerment with USAID:- Master Kiran has partnered with the United States Agency for International Development to launch an initiative called Project Kiran. The main objective of Project Kiran is to empower women and it will last for 2 years.To implement the program, some cities of UP have been selected are Lucknow, Kanpur and Varanasi.

7.CAG GC Murmu as External Auditor of IPU:- CAG Mr. Girish Chandra Murmu has been elected External Auditor of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Geneva. He will serve as an IPU for a period of three years.He will assume responsibility for the post. He has been selected in the 284th season of IPU. General Secretary Martin Chungong unveiled the results.n the IPU, 179 countries serve as members and over 13 serve as associate members.
