1 Prime Minister Modi reached Tokyo on a two-day visit to Japan

Prime Minister  Narendra Modi   will attend  the 15th India-Japan Annual Summit  in  Tokyo . Mr Modi  arrived in Tokyo on a two-day official visit to Japan. The visit is taking place at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister  Shigeru Ishiba  . During the summit, the two leaders will review the entire gamut of bilateral relations and discuss ways to take the special strategic and global partnership, which has steadily evolved over the last 11 years, to the next phase.

2 India, Bhutan sign MoU on technical cooperation in agriculture and allied sectors

India and Bhutan  have   signed a Memorandum of Understanding on  technical cooperation in agriculture and allied sectors . Agriculture Ministry Secretary Devesh Chaturvedi and Bhutan Agriculture Secretary Thinley Namgyal signed the MoU in Thimpu. The signing of the MoU is an important milestone in the enduring partnership between India and Bhutan, the Agriculture Ministry said in a statement. It reflects the shared commitment of both countries towards food security, sustainable farming and rural prosperity  . The MoU will serve as a framework for cooperation in various areas including agricultural research and innovation, livestock health and production, post-harvest management, value chain development, and exchange of knowledge, skills and expertise.

3 India appoints Dinesh K Patnaik as new High Commissioner to Canada

India  has  announced the appointment of  Dinesh K. Patnaik  , the current Ambassador to  Spain  , as  the next High Commissioner to Canada  . According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Mr. Patnaik, a 1990 batch Indian Foreign Service officer, will take up his duties shortly. Canada has also announced the appointment of  veteran diplomat  Christopher Cooter  as  its new High Commissioner in New Delhi  . Earlier in his tenure, he was First Secretary in the High Commission of Canada to India and Nepal.

4 A big gift for women of Haryana: They will get 2100 rupees every month, the scheme will start from September 25

The Haryana government  has made a big announcement for women. Chief Minister  Naib Singh Saini  announced after the cabinet meeting on Thursday that  eligible women of the state  will be given financial assistance of Rs 2100 every month. The scheme has been  named ‘ Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi Yojana ‘ and it will be launched on 25 September 2025  on the birth anniversary of Deen Dayal Upadhyay. This scheme is considered a big step towards making women financially strong. Chief Minister Saini told in a press conference that the first phase of the scheme will include women from families whose annual income is less than Rs 1 lakh. Later gradually women from other families will also be added to it. The benefit of the scheme will be given to those women who are 23 years or above. It will include both married and unmarried, but the condition is that the woman should be a permanent resident of Haryana for the last 15 years.

 5 Over 5,700 armed forces set to participate in ‘Exercise Bright Star 2025’

More than 700 Armed Forces personnel   from  the Armed Forces and Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff are set to participate in  the multilateral exercise ‘ Bright Star 2025 ‘ from August 28 to September 10, 2025  in  Egypt . Exercise Bright Star is a multilateral exercise conducted by Egypt in collaboration with the US since 1980 and is one of the largest tri-service multilateral exercises in the region. The exercise is conducted every two years with the last exercise being held in the year 2023 in which many countries including India participated with their troops.

6 Delhi Cantonment Board launches Learning & Support Centre initiative ‘Aarambh’

 Under the aegis of  Ministry of Defence , Delhi Cantonment Board  has  launched  a learning and support centre initiative “ Aarambh ” at Silver Oak School, Delhi Cantonment  on  26th August, 2025. The initiative focuses on  inclusive development of child welfare  . It aims to provide free education and essential medical facilities to the children of construction workers working in the cantonment area   . Children of migrant labourers are often deprived of the rights to basic education due to the temporary lifestyle of their parents and lack of stable housing or access to education. To address this serious gap, ‘Aarambh’ will prove to be helpful in stabilizing the class order of these children by providing them basic education, life skills and safe space.
