1.Prime Minister Modi was first awarded the Philip Kotler Pre Presidential Award:-Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was given the first Philip Kotler Prashadential prize at the residence of 7 Lok Kalyan Marg in New Delhi. This award focuses on three base lines, profits, profits and planets. This award will be given to the leader of any country every year.The citation has said that Shri Narendra Modi has been chosen to give excellent leadership to the country. Due to his unselfish service with untiring energy for the country, the country has achieved excellent economic, social and technological development. It has been said in the citation that India’s identity under the leadership of Shri Modi has now become a center of professional services like innovation and value-added production center (Make in India), as well as information technology, accounting and finance.It has also been stated in the citation that due to his visionary leadership, the digital revolution (digital India) revolution could be achieved with a unique identification number, base for social gain and financial inclusion. This has helped in entrepreneurship, trade facilitation and infrastructure development of the 21st Century for the country.

In this, initiatives like Make in India, Startup India, Digital India and Clean India have been discussed, making India the most attractive production and trading center in the world.

Professor Philip Kotler is a world renowned professor of marketing at Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management. Due to the illness, Professor Kotler sent Dr. Jagdish Seth of Emory University to Georgia to award the prize to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Georgia.

2.World’s largest religious and cultural human congregation – Kumbh Mela begins in UP:-

The world’s largest religious and cultural human congregation -Kumbh 2019 has begun with the holy dip at Sangam, the confluence of rivers Ganga, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati at Prayagraj early this morning. The first bathing was taken by saints and seers of different Akharas. According to Kumbh Mela administration around one crore 25 lakh devotees area expected on this Royal bathing Makar Sankranti.Twenty-one Snan Ghats have been set up for bathing. Special arrangements have been made for women devotees and for the first time three women police units have been pressed into service. More than one lakh twenty thousand toilets have been erected for making Clean Kumbh. the Kumbh Mela will conclude on 4th of March. Whole the area is reverberated with the sound of conch shells, bells, drums and chanting of Mantras, Bhajan and Kirtan. People are donating khichdi bhog and cloths on Makar Sankranti. Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place for the safe bathing. Besides, three Jal police stations, 9 NDRF water emergency teams have been pressed in service. The whole kumbh area is divided into 20 sectors and 9 zones for keen vigil by sector and zonal magistrates. Forty police stations, 58 police outposts including three women police station are erected where more than  20 thousand security personnel are deployed.

3.2-day Global Aviation Summit 2019 to take off in Mumbai:-A two-day Global Aviation Summit 2019 will take off in Mumbai. Union Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu said this will be the first-of-its-kind event in the world with participation from more than 86 countries. Addressing a press conference in Mumbai, Mr. Prabhu said India is among the fastest growing aviation sector. He said the Vision 2040 for aviation sector and the Air Cargo Policy will also be unveiled during the summit. The Global Aviation Summit with a theme “Flying for all – especially the next 6 Billion”, being organised by Ministry of Civil Aviation in association with FICCI. The Summit offers stakeholders an opportunity to explore, deliberate and understand how technology-driven innovations will change air travel in the decades to come.  Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Jayant Sinha; Chairman of Airports Authority of India, Dr. Guruprasad Mohapatra; DG of Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Mr. B S Bhullar and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will address the summit.

4.The Gold Bond Plan 2018-19 series will continue from 5th Monday and continue till Friday:-The series 5 of the Gold Bond Plan 2018-19 is commencing. It will continue until Friday. In this period, the value of a bond will be three thousand two hundred fourteen rupees per gram and the date of payment will be January 22 , 2019.

The Center has consulted with the Reserve Bank and decided that the investors who will pay the amount through digital medium by applying online will be given a concession of fifty rupees per gram in fixed price. For such people, the value of gold bond will be 3 thousand one hundred and 64 rupees per gram.

5.Wommia on government e marketplace:- 

Government E-marketplace (GEM) has been entrusted with the sale of handicrafts and handlooms, accessories, jute products, home furnishings and office office goods to various government ministries, departments and institutions to women entrepreneurs and women self-help groups. To help, ‘Womania On GEM ‘ initiative has been launched. This initiative will help women entrepreneurs to achieve a consolidated economic growth.CEO of Government E-Marketplace, S. Radha Chauhan has released a three minute video highlighting the main points of the Womania initiative and its advantages. They said that about 80 percent of women’s Malakana organizations are self-financed and more than 60 percent of the 80 lakh units are operated by the backward women entrepreneurs at social level. Women invest up to 90 percent of their earnings on better nutrition, health and education of their children. In this way economic empowerment of women is a good initiative towards eradicating poverty.

6.Shakil Ahmed sets world record in indoor rowing:-

Asian Cup gold medallist Shakil Ahmed has added one more feather to his cap when he set up a world record in indoor rowing by completing one lakh metres in above-40 years category in Kolkata. Shakil began his record-setting indoor rowing feat in Salt Lake stadium complex at  8 a.m. achieved the milestone of covering one lakh metres of simulated distance in 10 hours.Secretary of  West Bengal Rowing Association Souvik Ghosh and Committee Member Aniruddha Mukherjee said they would now certify the feat to the authorities of Limca Book of Records for entering the achievement in their record book.  Rowing Federation of India General Secretary Girish Phadnis congratulated Shakil for the unique feat.

7.Khelo India Youth Games: Akshata wins gold medal:-

Akshata Basvani Kamati of Karnataka has won a gold medal in the Under-21 age 71-kilogram category in weightlifting at the Khelo India Youth Games being held in Pune. Kamati, the daughter of a farmer, initially seemed nowhere in the running for the gold. She heaved a modest 73 kilogram in the snatch and then failed twice at 76 kilograms, while her main rivals — fellow Karnataka lifter Lavanya Rai (79) and PH Roshni of Arunachal Pradesh with 77 — built a handy lead. Stung by that reverse, Kamati opened with a successful attempt at 100 kilograms in the clean & jerk and then improved it to 103 kilograms before failing at 107 kilograms in the next two attempts.Kamati comes from Halaga near Belgaum. Kamati credited her father for encouraging her towards the sport.

8.2nd ODI between India and Australia to be played in Adelaide today:-The second One-Day International of the three match series between India and Australia will be played in Adelaide this morning.  The match will begin at 8.50 AM Indian Time.
Australia lead the series 1-0 by winning the first ODI in Sydney by 34 runs.
