Prime Minister  Narendra Modi  laid   the foundation stone and inaugurated development projects worth five thousand five hundred crore rupees  at  Nathdwara  in  Rajasthan . These   include four national highways and three rail projects . Shri Modi laid the foundation stone for redevelopment of Udaipur railway station, conversion of narrow gauge rail line to broad gauge rail line and Nathdwara to Nathdwara rail line. The Prime Minister dedicated three National Highway projects to the nation. These include 6-laning of 114 kms between Udaipur to Shamlaji on NH-48, widening and strengthening of 110 kms of Bar-Bilara Jodhpur on NH-25 and 2-laning of stone paved road on NH-58E. Are. 2 Lithium Reserve was discovered in Rajasthan

India recently  discovered lithium reserves at Degana (Nagaur)  in  Rajasthan  , another step towards achieving the country’s net zero emissions target  . This is the second lithium reserve to be discovered in India after 5.9 million tonnes of lithium reserves  were found  three months ago in  the Union Territory  of Jammu and Kashmir . Lithium, known as ” White Gold “,  has become a highly sought-after metal , especially  for the electric vehicle industry .  Geological Survey of India The Geological Survey of India (GSI) has recently confirmed the discovery of lithium reserves in Rajasthan, although the potential of the reserve has not been disclosed. This reserve is believed to be bigger than the 5.9 million tonnes of lithium reserves discovered in Jammu and Kashmir. Lithium deposits in Rajasthan are located in the same Rainvet hill of Degana and its surrounding area, which once supplied tungsten ore to the country.

3 Telangana government launches robotics framework

Telangana government  has   launched Robotics Framework  to promote  robotic ecosystem . This is the first initiative of its kind in the country. Under this, Telangana  Robotics Innovation Center  will be set up, which will initiate the framework with special focus on the key pillars of infrastructure accessibility, business facilitation, research and innovation nurturing, skilled workforce development and responsible workforce deployment. The State Government  has signed Memorandum of Understanding  with  IIT HyderabadAGHub  of  State Agricultural University and some other institutions. Signed to promote innovation, research and growth in the field from the robotics ecosystem in the state. The government will set up a Robo Park, which will provide testing facilities, collaboration, collaboration and manufacturing options. It will also set up a robotics incubator to provide startups with incubation, infrastructure, authorization support, market insights, investor linkages and mentorship support.

4 Union Health Ministry Enables Online System of Training

Union Health Ministry has enabled  online system of training Saksham  (Stimulating Advanced Knowledge for Sustainable Health Management) Has started. This digital learning platform has been developed by National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), New Delhi. It aims to promote improved knowledge for health management. Online training and medical education is made available to all health professionals in the country under the Saksham platform. It was launched by Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan. According to the Ministry of Health, this digital platform will ensure inclusive capacity building of health professionals. At present, two thousand public health courses and one hundred clinical courses are being made available through Saksham. Registration for these courses can be done at lmis.nihfw.ac.in and certificates can be obtained after undergoing the requisite training.

5 India and Canada agreed to increase coordinated investment, exchange information and enhance mutual cooperation

India and Canada  have agreed to enhance coordinated investments, exchange information and explore ways to enhance mutual cooperation through a memorandum of understanding in the near future. Commerce and Industry Minister  Piyush Goyal  with   Canadian Minister  Ms. Mary Ng at the 6th India-Canada Ministerial Consultations on Trade and Investment  on 8th May in  Ottawa Co-chaired by Both the Ministers emphasized on laying a solid foundation for trade and economic relations between the two countries and acknowledged the importance of bilateral ties and economic partnership. The two Ministers reviewed the progress made in discussions on the India-Canada Free Trade Relationship. Ms. Mary Ng expressed Canada’s support for India’s chairmanship of the G-20 grouping. They supported the continuation of the priorities by India in the G-20 Trade and Investment Working Group. They indicated that they look forward to participating in the upcoming G-20 Trade and Investment Ministerial Meeting, scheduled to be held in India in August.

7 Trial run of blood bag delivery under IMCR’s iDrone initiative successfully completed

 Continuing with the national mission to expand  the drone ecosystem in India,  the Indian Council  of  Medical Research (ICMR), Union Health Ministry,  under   its  iDrone initiative  successfully completed the trial run of delivery of blood bags by drones. IMCR, Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC), New Delhi  Government Institute  of  Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida  and  Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida This trial run has been carried out for the first time in the country as part of a very important validation study with the collaborative efforts of Dr. This inaugural trial flight transported 10 units of whole blood samples from GIMS and LHMC in Visual Line of Sight (VLOS). While LHMC and GIMS have been roped in as centers for supply of blood bags and testing of samples, JIIT is working as the implementation center for drone flights. Its protocol development, study designing, implementation and coordination of the project is being done by the scientists of ICMR-HQ.

8 42nd ASEAN Summit begins in Indonesia

The 42nd summit   of  the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has begun  in Indonesia with the theme “ ASEAN Affairs: Epicenter of Growth ”. The aim of the summit is to showcase the bloc’s hopes and efforts to become the center and driving force behind global development. President Joko Widodo, who chairs the bloc, stressed the huge potential of the ASEAN region, which has a total population of about 650 million inhabitants and consistently outperforms the world average in terms of economic growth. He called upon the member countries to unite in terms of productive power to make Southeast Asia the center of global growth.

The Green Port Guidelines 2023  ‘ Green Sea ‘ has been launched  by  the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways  with the objective of fulfilling the comprehensive vision of achieving  zero carbon emission target . 11 India achieved another major achievement of cleanliness – 50 percent villages now open defecation free under Swachh Bharat Mission Rural Phase-II

 The country has achieved another major achievement under the Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin (SBM-G) . Now half of the total villages in the country  (50 percent)  have achieved the status of Open Defecation Free (Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin)  under the second phase of the mission  . Open defecation free villages are those rural areas which have maintained their open defecation free status along with implementing solid or liquid waste management systems. So far more than 2.96 lakh villages have declared themselves open defecation free. This is a significant step towards achieving the SBM-G Phase-II targets by 2024-25. The best performing states in terms of percentage of open defecation free villages are – Telangana (100 per cent), Karnataka (99.5 per cent), Tamil Nadu (97.8 per cent) and Uttar Pradesh (95.2 per cent) and Goa (95.3 per cent) and Sikkim (69.2 per cent)  are  among the smaller states  . Union Territories –  Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman Diu and Lakshadweep have 100% open defecation free  model villages. These States and Union Territories have achieved remarkable success in achieving the Open Defecation Free status and their efforts have played a major role in achieving this feat.

12 Center’s big action against diversion and black marketing of  fertilizers: Fertilizer flying squad

The Department of Fertilizers (DoF)  under  the Union Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers  has implemented several measures to combat corruption and ensure availability of  quality fertilizers to farmers in India. These initiatives have successfully prevented diversion and black marketing of fertilizers across the country.  Formation of special teams called Fertilizer Flying Squads (FFS) to  strictly monitor and prevent diversion, black marketing, hoarding and supply of substandard fertilizers To crack down on such activities. Also, for strict action, surprise inspections were conducted in the States/Union Territories and suspected urea bags were seized. In addition, sample testing has been intensified to prevent misuse of urea for non-agricultural purposes. In the last one year, for the first time, 11 people have been sent to jail under the Prevention of Black Marketing and Maintenance of Supplies Act, 1980 in connection with diversion and black marketing of urea. Fertilizer Control Order, Many other legal and administrative actions have also been taken under 1985. These measures have not only benefited the farmers but have also created a nationwide demand for Indian fertilizers. Neighboring countries have approached India for urea import due to stoppage of smuggling of urea across the border. DoF has also encouraged innovative practices like Integrated Fertilizer Management System (IFMS) to increase awareness among farmers about fertilizer quality.

Recently,  NASA  and  IBM developed a new geospatial model  to convert satellite data into high-resolution maps of flood, fire and other landscape changes.  to help provide insight into the history and future of our planet. The collaboration aims to provide a preview of the geospatial platform in the second half of this year, with potential applications in assessing climate risks, monitoring forests for carbon-offset initiatives, and providing forward-looking information to combat climate change. 15 Uttar Pradesh will get its first Pharma Park in Lalitpur district

The Uttar Pradesh government  has   given green signal to the project of setting up a Pharma Park  in  Lalitpur district of Bundelkhand . For this, the state government will transfer 1500 hectares of land to the Animal Husbandry Department in Lalitpur district. The state government will spend Rs 1560 crore on development works and providing necessary facilities to the investors in Lalitpur Pharma Park. A proposal has been prepared to transfer the vacant land of the Animal Husbandry Department in Lalitpur to the Industrial Development Department. The proposal will soon be presented in the Council of Ministers meeting after its approval. The detailed project report (DPR) will be prepared soon after selecting a consultant for the development of the Pharma Park.

17 Telangana CM lays foundation stone of Hare Krishna Heritage Tower in Hyderabad

 Chief Minister of  Telangana K. Chandrasekhar Rao  laid   the foundation stone of  the Hare Krishna Heritage Tower  in  Hyderabad .  The 400 feet high structure will be constructed on six acres of land at Narsingi at a cost of Rs 200 crore. The tower will have shrines of Sri Sri Radha Krishna and Sri Venkateswara Swamy.

Clinical trial activity in India was historically low until 2014 due to unfavorable policies. These measures have streamlined the approval processes, reducing the time frame by 30-40%. Although India has contributed about 4% of global clinical trials on an annual basis since 2010, its clinical trial activity has been steadily increasing since 2014 due to regulatory harmonisation. Which has allowed unrestricted entry into clinical trials within the country. India’s diverse population and developing healthcare infrastructure create a conducive environment for clinical trials to be successful. The COVID-19 pandemic has also contributed to increasing awareness about the importance of clinical trials in India. According to this report, among the top 20 pharma companies, AstraZeneca, Novartis, Eli Lilly, Pfizer and J&J are the top sponsors of clinical trials in India.

Retired beneficiaries of Employees Health Scheme will  now  be able to get medicines  from  AIIMS for six months instead of three months . All India Institute of Medical Sciences-AIIMS has informed about this in one of its orders. AIIMS said that there was a demand from the retired beneficiaries to extend the time period, after which this decision has been taken. At present, these retired employees were getting medicine only for three months with the approval of the Medical Superintendent.

20 Guatemala’s Fuego Volcano erupted

Recently,  Guatemalan  authorities evacuated more than a thousand people and closed a road as  the Fuego volcano  erupted, sending a thick cloud of ash over nearby towns and farms. Fuego Volcano is spewing a high temperature mixture of gas, ash and rock fragments. The ash column spewed by Fuego surpassed an altitude of 6,000 meters. The ash was falling toward the western and southwestern flanks of the volcano, which is located far from the capital, Guatemala City. Strong emissions are still expected as “high-level” eruptions continue, and rainfall is forecast to lead to mudslides.
