1.PM addresses ‘Save Soil’ program organized by Isha Foundation
The Prime Minister , Shri Narendra Modi , initially greeted the people present on the occasion of World Environment Day . Appreciating the ‘ Save Mitti Andolan ‘, the Prime Minister said that at a time when the Amrit Mahotsav of nation independenceWhile taking new resolutions, such movements acquire a new importance. He expressed satisfaction that the major programs of the last 8 years lay emphasis on environmental protection. He cited the Swachh Bharat Mission or the Waste to Reduction Program, Single Use Plastic Reduction, One Sun One Earth or the Ethanol Blending Program as examples of India’s multi-faceted efforts to protect the environment. ‘Save Soil Andolan’ is a global movement to raise awareness about the health of deteriorating soil and launch conscious initiatives to improve it. The movement was started in March 2022 by Sadhguru, who embarked on a 100-day motorcycle journey passing through 27 countries. June 5 is the 75th day of this 100-day journey.

3.Turkey will now be known as Turkiye in the United Nations
Turkey will now be known as Turkey in the United Nations . The United Nations has accepted the official request sent by the capital Turkey to change the name of the country.has approved. Last year, a campaign was launched by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to rebrand Turkey, after which the word Turkish has been used by government documents and on behalf of the Turkish people. This name was chosen in the year 2021 as Turkiye which best reflects and expresses the culture, civilization and values of the Turkish nation. Locals also refer to their country as Turkiye, but internationally the English version “Turkey” was adopted. The Turkish government has started a re-branding campaign under which “Made in Turkey” will be displayed on all products exported. A tourism campaign has also been started by the government with “Hello Turkey” as the tag line.
4.eSanjeevani integrated with ABDM
On June 3, 2022, the National Health Authority (NHA) announced that the government’s ‘ e-Sanjeevani ‘ telemedicine service has been integrated with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission . This integration enables existing e-Sanjeevani users to easily access their Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA)will help create. Users will also be able to use it to add and manage their existing health records. Users can share their health records with doctors on e-Sanjeevani, which in turn will help in better clinical decision making and ensure continuity of care. Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission aims to build digital highways to bridge the gap between existing digital health solutions and stakeholders in India. This will also enable people to share their already linked health records with doctors on e-Sanjeevani. Thus, the entire counseling process will become paperless.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin flagged off the luxury cruise liner ” Empress ” from Chennai port . This eleven-storey tourist ship has a capacity of two thousand passengers and about eight hundred employees. According to the ship’s operator Cordelia, the packages available include deep sea return from the city port and stay at Puducherry and Visakhapatnam docks. For this, there are three different packages of two days, three days and five days. The ship also features a swimming pool, children’s play area, gym, theater and a variety of cuisine restaurants. This is the first state-run luxury cruise service to promote maritime tourism.
6.World’s largest blood donation campaign in Khardung La started in Leh
The world’s largest blood donation drive has started in Leh at Khardung La , one of the highest motorable roads in the world. This blood donation camp was organized by Akhil Bharatiya Terapanth Yuva Parishad , Bharatiya Janata Party and Ladakh Rescue Center . International Para Sports Champion Prakash M Nadar donated blood on the occasion. Shri Nadar has a record of donating blood 120 times in 23 states. The Khardung La Pass blood donation program is part of the campaign launched in Kanyakumari, Rann of Kutch, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagpur and will culminate with the organization of over thousand blood donation camps to mark the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17.

Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has said that the government has decided to pay medical claims of retired employees up to Rs 500 without any scrutiny. Inaugurating the new office of the Additional Director, Central Government Health Scheme – CGHS in Patna yesterday, Shri Mandaviya said that the officers have been directed to organize Panchayats at the district and block level to listen and solve the problems of the beneficiaries of CGHS. .
9.Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will go on a three-day visit to Vietnam from June 8 to hand over 12 high-speed guard boats to India.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will be on a three-day visit from June 8 to Vietnam to hand over 12 high-speed guard boats manufactured by India’s USD 100 million defense line . During this, Mr. Singh will hold bilateral talks with Vietnamese Defense Minister Phan Van Giang and explore ways to further strengthen defense cooperation between the two countries. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will also visit other training institutes including Telecom University in Nha Trang. Army Software Park is being built at Telecom University with a grant of US$ 5 million from the Government of India.

This will help in improving the environment by spreading the message of clean and green to the people. Prime Minister Narendra Modi did Mann Ki Baat program last monthI had urged the citizens to make efforts for cleanliness and tree plantation on the occasion of World Environment Day. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has issued a comprehensive advisory to the States and Union Territories to take up various activities in this direction in line with India’s resolve to ban single-use plastic by the end of this month on World Environment Day. Under this, emphasis has been laid on strictly adhering to the ban of single use plastic across the country.

14.Union Minister Shri Bhagwant Khuba launches NSEFI’s All India Rooftop Solar Awareness Campaign
The Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy, Shri Bhagwant Khuba launched the All India Rooftop Solar Awareness Campaign at an event in Bidar , Karnataka . In this scheme, farmers will be given 30% subsidy for installing solar pumps by the Center and the state each . NSEFI Sequa KVP program in collaboration with the German Solar Union (BSW) and the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)It is launching a three-year pan-India rooftop awareness program aimed at raising awareness about solar energy. It aims to spread awareness about solar rooftops in 100 Indian towns and cities, especially in tier II and III cities.
15.India-Bangladesh joint military exercise begins in Bangladesh
As part of the ongoing bilateral defense cooperation between India-Bangladesh , a joint military training exercise ” Purva Samprati-X ” is being conducted at Jashor Military Station , Bangladesh from 05 June to 16 June 2022 . Exercise is currently an important bilateral defense cooperation conducted by the two countries alternately, with the aim of strengthening and widening interoperability and cooperation between the two armies. The aim of the exercise is to strengthen interoperability between the two armies and understand each other’s tactical exercises and operational techniques. In this exercise, the Indian contingent is represented by a battalion of Dogra Regiment and this contingent left by road to the exercise site on 4 June 2022.
16.Tata Projects will build the country’s largest Jewar airport
Shapoorji Pallonji Group and Larsen & Toubro for Tata Projects contractWill build a new airport for the National Capital Region at Jewar. Though the size of the deal has not been disclosed, sources put it at over Rs 6,000 crore. Tata Projects, the infrastructure and construction arm of the Tata Group, will construct terminals, runways, airside infrastructure, roads, utilities, landside facilities and other ancillary buildings at Noida International Airport. The new airport is expected to be operational by 2024. With the closure of the EPC contract, the first phase of the airport is to be delivered within three years from the commencement of the concession period. As per the terms of the contract for Jewar airport, the developer of the upcoming Noida International Airport will be fined Rs 10 lakh per day in case of delay in the project.
17.Government approves 8.1 percent interest rate on EPF deposits for 2021-22
The government has approved 8.1 per cent interest rate on Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) deposits for 2021-22, provided by retirement fund body Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO).This is the lowest level in more than four decades for nearly 50 million customers. Earlier in March this year, the EPFO had decided to reduce the interest on provident fund deposits for 2021-22 from 8.5 per cent provided in 2020-21 to 8.1 per cent. The Ministry of Labor and Employment has conveyed the approval of the Central Government to credit 8.1 percent interest rate for 2021-22 to each member of the EPF scheme. The Labor Ministry had sent the proposal to the Finance Ministry for consent. Now, after the ratification of the interest rate by the government, EPFO will start depositing fixed interest rate for the financial year in the EPF accounts. The 8.1 percent EPF rate of interest is the lowest since 1977-78, when it was 8 percent.

India organized FIH for the first time. Has won the title of Hockey 5-S Championship . India defeated Poland 6-4 in the final in Lausanne , Switzerland . The Indian team did not lose a single match in the tournament. In this five-team tournament, India finished first with 10 points after league matches. The Indian team won three matches while one was drawn. Hockey 5-S is a newer and shorter version of hockey played with a lot of speed and high skill. In this match of total 20 minutes, there are five players each in both the teams. The hockey 5-s match was played for the first time at the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games in 2014.

India won a total of 11 medals including six gold, one silver and four bronze in the Combined World Wrestling Ranking Series. Of these, five gold medals have been won by women participants.

World Environment Day is celebrated globally on 5th June every year . It is celebrated to raise awareness globally about environmental issues and actions to be taken to combat them. The year 2022 is the 50th WED . Sweden is the host this year and its theme is Only One Earth .It focuses on the need to live in harmony with nature. Following the Human Environment Conference or Stockholm Conference in June 1972, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) adopted a resolution in December 1972 to designate June 5 as World Environment Day (A/RES/2994 (XXVII) ) adopted. The date of 5 June coincides with the first day of the historic Stockholm Conference. The day was first observed in 1974, and since then it has been widely celebrated in more than 100 countries.
