7 IIT Delhi’s amazing, developed a system called Androcon

It can even detect whether  a user is on a metro or an airplane, whether they are alone or in a crowded area  . Researchers at IIT Delhi  have developed a system called AndroCon  . This system demonstrates that apps with precise location permissions on Android phones can use the precise GPS data already available as a covert sensor. According to the researchers, without using cameras, microphones, or motion sensors, this system can analyze nine types of low-level GPS parameters (such as Doppler shift, signal power, multipath interference, etc.) to determine whether a person is sitting, standing, or lying down. Furthermore, it can also detect whether a person is in a metro, an airplane, a park, or a crowded area, whether they are alone in a room or in a crowded area. The research, conducted by Soham Nag, an MTech student at IIT Delhi’s Centre of Excellence in Cyber Systems and Information Assurance, and Dr. Smriti R. Sarangi, a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, shows that these invisible GPS signals are capable of predicting a person’s movements, their surrounding environment, and even the layout of a room or building.
