1 Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the Lakhpati Didi Sammelan in Jalgaon, Maharashtra

Prime Minister  Shri Narendra Modi  attended  the Lakhpati Didi Sammelan  in  Jalgaon  ,  Maharashtra . He  felicitated and gave away  certificates to 11 lakh new Lakhpati Didis  who have recently become Lakhpatis during the third term of the present government.  The Prime Minister also interacted with Lakhpati Didis from across the country. Shri Modi released a revolving fund of Rs 2,500 crore  which will benefit  about  48 lakh members of  4.3 lakh Self Help Groups (SHGs).  He also disbursed bank loans worth Rs 5,000 crore which will benefit 25.8 lakh members of 2.35 lakh SHGs. Since the launch of the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, one crore women have been made Lakhpati Didis and the Government has set a target of three crore Lakhpati Didis.

Prime Minister  Shri Narendra Modi  addressed  the closing ceremony of the Platinum Jubilee program   of  Rajasthan High Court  in  Jodhpur  ,  Rajasthan . The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Rajasthan High Court Museum. Initially, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the museum located in the High Court premises through remote and dedicated e-service Tatkal to the public. Rajasthan High Court has become the first court in the country to start e-service Tatkal. On this occasion,  Governor Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde  released the stamp issued by the Department of Posts on the Platinum Jubilee year of the High Court and presented it to the Prime Minister. State  Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma , Supreme Court Senior Justice  Sanjeev Khanna , Union Minister of State for Law and Justice  Arjun Ram Meghwal  and Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court  Manindra Mohan Shrivastava  also addressed the program.

3 Telegram app founder and CEO Pavel Durov arrested in Paris

Pavel Durov,  the   founder and CEO of  the popular messaging application  Telegram,  was arrested at  Le Bourget airport  outside  Paris . French authorities have said that Durov was arrested under a warrant related to crimes related to the Telegram platform  . The investigation focused on the lack of moderation on Telegram that allowed criminal activity. After Durov’s arrest, the Russian Embassy in France is taking immediate steps to gather more information about the situation. Pavel Durov (Telegram CEO Pavel Durov) is a  Russian citizen  . Pavel  founded Telegram in 2013.  Telegram worked very fast on privacy and encryption.

 

4 Odisha Chief Minister Majhi launched Subhadra Yojana

 

Odisha  Chief Minister  Mohan Majhi  has   unveiled  the Subhadra Yojana , a landmark initiative of the BJP government. Under the scheme , Rs 50,000  has been promised   to  one crore women aged between 21 and 60 years in the next five years , with a total budget of Rs 55,825 crore  . The amount  will be distributed in  annual installments of Rs 10,000  , which will be divided into two installments of Rs 5,000 on Rakhi Purnima and International Women’s Day.  The Subhadra Yojana will start from the financial year 2024-25 and continue till 2028-29. Eligible women will get ₹50,000 in five annual installments, which will benefit one crore women of the state.

 

5 Vaccine-derived polio detected in a two-year-old child in Meghalaya

 Vaccine  –  derived polio (VDP) was  recently  identified   in a child in Meghalaya . VDP occurs when attenuated strains of the poliovirus used in  the oral polio vaccine (OPV)  mutate  and  regain the ability to cause paralysis  . VDP usually occurs in areas with low vaccination coverage, poor sanitation or in immunocompromised individuals. More than 90% of VDP cases are caused by wild poliovirus type 2 (WPV2) present in OPV. The Government of India does not list Vaccine-Associated Paralytic Poliomyelitis (VAPP) as polio, as cases are very rare and pose little or no risk to others. The World Health Organization  declared India polio-free in 2014  . It is noteworthy that this new case that has surfaced recently  will not  have any impact on India’s polio free status .

6 ADB supports Maharashtra in improving health care services

 

The Asian Development Bank (ADB)  has  committed a US$500 million loan package  to  improve  access to  quality and affordable tertiary health care services  and  medical education in  Maharashtra   . This will help establish four medical colleges in underprivileged districts with features that are climate and disaster resilient, gender sensitive and socially inclusive. It will reduce out-of-pocket expenditure (direct expenditure made by households to health care providers) and support policy action to recruit and retain quality medical staff. It envisages recruitment of at least 500 new doctors for four new government medical colleges. It will also support the establishment of India’s first state-led Centre of Excellence (CoE) in health care and medical education.

7 GAIL and Petron to set up 500 KTA bio-ethylene plant in India

State-owned gas firm  GAIL (India) Ltd  said it  has signed an agreement with US biofuel producer Petron Scientech to explore the possibility of setting up a  500 kilo tonnes per annum bio-ethylene plant  in India.The  memorandum of understanding (MoU) provides for exploring the possibility of setting up a bio-ethanol based plant in a 50:50 joint venture between the two companies, GAIL said in a statement.

8 Fastag recharge: RBI allows e-mandate for auto-replenishment

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI)  has  announced an update regarding  FASTag  . RBI  has decided to integrate  FASTag  and  National Common Mobility Card  with  e-mandate . After this, now if people’s FASTag balance goes below the prescribed limit, money will be automatically added to it.  This means that now FASTag users will not need to recharge FASTag again and again.

9 Goldman Sachs cuts India’s 2024 and 2025 GDP growth forecast

Goldman Sachs Group  has  decided to reduce India’s GDP forecast for  the year 2024 and 2025.   The bank has taken this decision due to the reduction in government expenditure. Goldman Sachs has   cut its  forecast by 20 basis points  and projected  GDP to be 6.7 percent in 2024. Goldman Sachs has reduced its GDP forecast for the next calendar year 2025 and the bank believes that it will grow at  6.4 percent  next year. and the bank believes that  the Indian economy will register growth at the rate of

10 Badminton: Tanvi Patri won the Under-15 Girls Singles title at the Asia Junior Championship

India’s top junior badminton player  Tanvi Patri  won  the Under- 15 girls singles title at   the Asia Under-17 and Under-15 Junior Championships   in Chengdu, China . Tanvi defeated second seed Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen of Vietnam 22-20, 21-11  in the final.   The 13-year-old shuttler won the title without losing a single game. Earlier, in the semi-finals, Tanvi defeated sixth seed Kungkaew Kakanik of Thailand with a score of 21-19, 21-10.   In  the Under-17 boys singles, Gyan Dattu TT  lost to  Indonesia’s Raditya Bayu Wardana with a score of 9-21, 21-13, 21-13 and  won the bronze medal .
