1.Jammu and Kashmir selected to celebrate National Panchayati Raj Day
The Palli Panchayat of Jammu district has been selected for the Panchayati Raj Day celebrations this year . On the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day, on 24 April , Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address panchayats across the country virtually from Palli village in Jammu district. On this occasion, the foundation stone of industrial development schemes worth Rs 38,82 crore will be laid in the presence of eminent industrialists of the country and abroad. This will create more than four lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities in various sectors. in a record time of 20 days by Central Electronics Limited (CEL) , a Government of India Enterprise under the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology .Ground Mounted Solar Power (GMSP) plant is being set up. This will enable clean electricity to the households of the Palli Panchayat, making it the first carbon neutral panchayat under the ‘ Gram Urja Swaraj ‘ program of the Government of India . First National Panchayati Raj Day 2010was celebrated in Since then, National Panchayati Raj Day is celebrated every year on 24 April in India. Panchayats are mentioned in Article 40 of the Constitution of India and Article 246 empowers the State Legislature to make laws with respect to any matter relating to local self-government. To establish democracy at the local level, through the 73rd Constitutional Amendment Act, 1992, the Panchayati Raj Institution was given constitutional status and was entrusted with the task of rural development in the country.
2.Integrated command-control centers to be set up in all smart cities
Under the Smart Cities Mission (SCM) , 100 cities of the country are being developed, out of which Integrated Command and Control Centers (ICCC) have already been established in 80 of them. Integrated command and control centers will be set up in the remaining cities by August 15, 2022 . The project aims to develop 100 self-sufficient, citizen friendly urban settlements. The objective of the Ministry of Home Affairs is to finalize the ICCC model as well as implement this scheme in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan.To be implemented as a pilot project in the states. Integrated Command and Control Centers are designed for real-time monitoring and were previously intended to monitor and control electricity and water, traffic, sanitation, city connectivity, integrated building management and internet infrastructure. However, ICCCs will now also be linked to the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) of the Ministry of Home Affairs. During the COVID-19 pandemic, these command centers also functioned as war rooms.
3.Rajasthan becomes first state to get L-Route server
Rajasthan is the first state in the country to get L-Route server . With seamless internet connectivity, this server will assist the state government in providing its flagship digital services and implementing e-governance. This new facility will strengthen the state’s internet infrastructure and will also help in improving the resilience and security of all internet-based operations. This new server is located at Bhamashah State Data Center , Jaipur , Rajasthan by Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).established in collaboration with With this newly installed root server, for the domain name system, the state will no longer depend on a root server. Now if there is any problem in internet connectivity due to any natural calamity or technical glitch in whole of India or Asia, Rajasthan state will be able to access internet without any interruption. Also, this server will ensure that the state gets high-speed internet connectivity. The new route server will benefit the industry as well as the general public with better load management along with reduced round-trip latency time between servers and users. Presently, there are three J-Route servers deployed in Mumbai, New Delhi and Gorakhpur and two L-Route servers in Kolkata and Mumbai. The L-Route server installed in Rajasthan is the first to be deployed at the state level.
4.India’s first portable solar rooftop system unveiled in Gandhinagar
The first portable solar rooftop system in India has been inaugurated at the Swaminarayan Akshardham temple complex in Gandhinagar , Gujarat . The 10 photovoltaic PV port systems have been manufactured by New Delhi-based Servotech Power Systems Ltd and the German development agency Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit – GIZ).Designed by. The systems have been set up under the initiative of the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy to develop renewable energy cities across India. The PV ports are manufactured by New Delhi-based Servotech Power Systems Limited (SPSL), a leading manufacturer of high-end solar products such as LEDs, oxygen concentrators and EV charging equipment, under the Make in India project. PV port system is highly cost effective, requires low maintenance, has a long shelf life of 25-30 years, can be easily installed by a single person and is ideal for Indian climate.
5.Supreme Court reconstitutes expert committee for Delhi-Dehradun corridor project
The Supreme Court of India has reconstituted an expert committee to oversee compensatory afforestation and other mitigation measures for the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor Expressway project . An independent 12-member expert committee was constituted by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) under the chairmanship of Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Sukhbir Singh Sandhu . The Director General of Forests, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change will head the reconstituted committee. Chandra Prakash Goel , Director General of Forests in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has been made the chairman of the expert committee. Besides the new chairman, the Supreme Court has also included Anil Prakash Joshi (founder of the Himalayan Environmental Studies and Conservation Organization) and Vijay Dhasmana (environmentalist) as additional members in the committee.

Mrs Sitaraman also discussed the economic situation in the meeting with Sri Lanka’s Finance Minister Ali Sabri.

The report of the International Monetary Fund has said that the growth rate of the global economy will be slow due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict . The global economy will grow at the rate of 3.6 % this year as compared to 6.6% last year . The report said that earlier this growth rate was likely to be 4.4%. The conflict between Russia and Ukraine is expected to have broad and far-reaching implications for the economy. This effect is being reflected in negative trends such as inflation in fuel and food prices and disruption in trade. The growth rate of Russia’s economy is expected to decline by eight and a half percent. Ukraine’s growth rate is projected to decline by 35 percent. Due to this conflict, the growth rate of America, China and Europe is also likely to slow down.
9.Launch of INS-Vagshir, the sixth and final submarine of Project-75 Scorpene class submarines
INS-Vagshir , the sixth and final submarine of the Project-75 Scorpene class submarines, was launched in Mumbai. It has been built by Mumbai – based Mazgaon Dock Shipbuilders Limited-MDL under the Make in India initiative . Defense Secretary Dr. Ajay Kumar was the chief guest of the function and in keeping with the Naval tradition of launching or naming by a woman, the submarine ‘ Vagsheer ‘ was launched by Mrs. Veena Ajay Kumar . Deep sea sandfish found in the Indian Ocean named after Vagshir submarine made in the name of. INS Kalvari, INS Khanderi and INS Karang and INS Vela are already in service under ‘Project 75’ . The fifth submarine under the project, INS Vagir, is undergoing sea trials and is likely to be inducted by the end of this year. The project is being implemented with technical assistance from France.
10.Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates and lays foundation stone for development projects worth Rs 22,000 crore in Dahod, Gujarat
Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave Rs 22 thousand crore in a special function organized in Dahod , Gujarat .Inaugurated and inaugurated various projects costing Rs. These include the 9000 HP Electric Locomotive Manufacturing Project at the Rail Production Unit at Dahod. About 20 thousand crore rupees will be spent on this project. These include the Dahod District Southern Regional Water Supply Scheme, which will be built on the Narmada river basin at a cost of about eight hundred and forty crore rupees. With this the water supply requirement of about 280 villages of Dahod district and Deogarh Baria town will be met. Prime Minister Dahod worth about Rs 335 crore Launched five smart city projects. These projects include Integrated Command and Control Center ICCC building, rainwater drainage system, sewerage works, solid waste management system and rain water harvesting system. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, facilities worth Rs 120 crore have been provided to ten thousand tribal people of Panchmahal and Dahod districts. Shri Modi also inaugurated 66 KW Ghodia Sub-station, Panchayat Bhawans and Anganwadis. The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of various projects of the State Government worth about Rs. 5 hundred and fifty crores. These include projects related to water supply worth about Rs 300 crore, Dahod smart city projects worth about Rs 175 crore, works related to Dudhimat river project and Getco sub-station at Ghodia, among other projects.
11.India and Finland agree for cooperation in the energy sector

The UDAN scheme launched in 2016 aims to fulfill the aspirations of the common man with an advanced aviation infrastructure and their air connectivity in Category II and III cities, following the vision of Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik. Ministry of Civil Aviation by the year 2026UDAN is planning to build 100 new airports in India by 2024 with 1,000 new routes under the RCS scheme and is committed to it. Recently, the tableau of the Ministry of Civil Aviation was named as the best tableau of the Union Ministry for the Republic Day 2022. The tableau of the Ministry of Civil Aviation had displayed Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) – UDAN i.e. UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) as its central theme.
13.MoU signed between Indian Navy and M/s L&T
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Indian Navy (IN) and M/s Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on 20 April 2022. The MoU was signed by Vice Admiral Sandeep Naithani, Chief of Materials (Com) on behalf of the Indian Navy and Jayant Damodar Patil, Member of the Board of Larsen & Toubro and Whole Time Director (Defence and Smart Technologies). The objective of this MoU is to integrate technologies from different sectors for induction into the Indian Navy.M/s L&T is to be included as the knowledge partner. In addition, the MoU aims to bring the Indian Navy and Larsen & Toubro together to collaborate on innovative and pioneering projects relating to contemporary and emerging technologies of mutual interest. The MoU covers all aspects relating to power, weapons, engineering, machinery and controls and the structure of a naval warship.
14.Defense Ministry signs MoUs with Ministry of AYUSH to start Ayurveda Centers in 37 Cantonments and 12 AFMS Military Hospitals
Defense Ministry has signed two MoUs with Ministry of AYUSH . The first MoU is for starting Ayurveda Centers in 37 Cantonment Hospitals . At the same time, the second MoU is regarding starting of Ayurveda Centers in 12 Military Hospitals of Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) . These MoUs were signed during the three-day mega event Global AYUSH Investment and Innovation Conference to be held at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat from April 20-22, 2022. The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, addressed a grand gathering during the inaugural function. The Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) was also present at the event.
15.Vice President visits the birthplace of revolutionary freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju at Pandrangi, Andhra Pradesh
Revolutionary freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju (1897 – 1924) at Pandarangi , Andhra Pradesh by the Vice President of Indiavisited the birthplace of Alluri Sitarama Raju was an Indian revolutionary who launched an armed campaign against British colonial rule in India. He became a saint at the age of 18. Born in present-day Andhra Pradesh, Sitarama Raju became involved in anti-British activities against the Madras Forest Act of 1882. The act prohibited the free movement of Adivasis (tribal communities) in their forest habitats and allowed them to do the traditional form of podu (shifted farming and shifting cultivation). Growing discontent with the British led to the Rampa Rebellion/Manyam Rebellion of 1922, in which Alluri Sitarama Raju played a major role as a leader. He was nicknamed “Manyam Veerudu” (hero of the forest) by the local villagers for his heroic deeds. In the year 1924, Alluri Sitarama Raju was taken into police custody.

United Nations in the year 1999East Timorese voted for independence in the U.S. supervised referendum, but this encouraged violent activities until peacekeeping forces were allowed to enter the region. The country was officially recognized by the United Nations in the year 2002. East Timor has also applied to become a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) . Presently it has observer status.
17.SBI raises USD 500 million through IFSC GIFT City branch
State Bank of India (SBI) , India’s largest commercial bank, raised USD 500 million through a three-year syndicated loan facility through its International Financial Services Center (IFSC) Gujarat International Finance Tec (GIFT) City branch Huh. The facility is worth US$400 million, with a greenshoe option of US$100 million. SBI, on the other hand, did not provide pricing information. SBI’s GIFT City branch has extended its first offshore USD Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR) linked syndicated loan.

Indian Grandmaster Domaraju Gukesh won the 48th La Roda International Open Chess Tournament title in Castile-La Mancha , Spain . He defeated Viktor Mikhalevski of Israel in the final round. On 16 April 2022, the Invictus Games 2022 started in the Netherlands . These games are being organized from 16 to 22 April . The first edition of the Invictus Games was held in London in the year 2014 . The Games have been held in Orlando, USA in 2016, Toronto, Canada in 2017 and Sydney, Australia in 2018. Düsseldorf, Germany will host the 2023 edition of these Games . The Invictus Games is an international sporting event similar to the Paralympics but for wounded and sick military war veterans and service personnel . These games took inspiration from the poem ‘ Invictus ‘ by the poet William Ernest Henley.
