2. Operation Kaveri for Indians stranded in Sudan
In the midst of the civil war in Sudan , the Sudanese army has agreed to the safe evacuation of citizens of another country. After which the Government of India has taken up the task of evacuating the Indians trapped there through Operation Kaveri . Two C-130 aircraft of the Air Force and INS Sumedha of the Navy have reached Saudi Arabia and Sudan to bring back Indians stranded in Sudan’s civil war. Air Force ships are stationed at Jeddah in Saudi Arabia while INS Sumedha has reached Port Sudan. Around 3,000 Indians are stranded in Sudan. Violent clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Force on April 15 continue unabated.

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) recently released a report titled The Status of Women in Agrifood Systems , which examines gender inequalities in agriculture and its impact on the global economy and food security. sheds light on. This report presents comprehensive data and lessons about gender differences in agricultural food systems, and puts gender considerations into action to achieve better production, nutrition, the environment and livelihoods. This report shows that eliminating gender discrimination in agriculture could have significant positive impacts on the global economy and food security. Currently, more than 345 million people are estimated to experience severe food insecurity. Closing the gender gap in agrifood systems could increase global GDP by 1% (or about $1 trillion), and reduce global food insecurity by about 2%, leading to 45 Millions of people will be benefitted.

5. Over 181 members of Karnataka’s Hakki Pikki tribe community are stranded in violence-hit Sudan
The Hakki Pikki tribe is a nomadic tribe that inhabits several states in western and southern India . They are specially concentrated in forest areas where they practice their traditional occupation of catching and hunting birds . The name of this tribe itself tells a lot about their history and identity. “Hakki” means “bird” in Kannada , while “Pikki” means “catcher”. This highlights the tribe’s close association with birds and their expertise in catching them. The 2011 census figures show that the population of the Hakki Pikki tribe in Karnataka was around 12,000. This tribe is divided into four clans, namely Gujaratiya, Panwar, Kaliwala and Mewara . origin of the tribe They originated in the border districts of Gujarat and Rajasthan , but over time, they migrated to different parts of India, where they faced social, economic and political marginalization. Some members of this tribe also sell Ayurvedic products in Africa, indicating their entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to explore new markets. 6. Rajasthan government launched dearness relief camp
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot inaugurated the Mehngai Rahat Camp at Mahapura Gram Panchayat of Sanganer on 24 April . The aim of this camp, which will run till June 30 this year , is to provide relief to the general public and the underprivileged from rising prices and inflation. The Chief Minister said that the main objective of the Mehngai Rahat Camp is to empower the common people. Through this camp, the aim of the government is to provide complete information about the rights, schemes and entitlements to the general public and the deprived sections. This camp will act as a platform to connect people with the public welfare schemes of the state government, to provide relief from inflation and rising prices.
7. Ministry of Tourism is organizing G20 Tourism Expo in Jaipur

Several dignitaries including H.E. Mr. Chang Jae-bok, Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea to India were present during the inauguration of the G20 Tourism Expo organized by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India as well as FICCI and Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan . 20 Tourism Expo organized 12th edition of Great Indian Travel Bazaar (GITB) being done simultaneously. GITB is one of the biggest inbound tourism events in India. The special G20 tourism expo will include panel discussions, ambassadors’ roundtable, cultural events, golf games and other events. It is being organized after a gap of three years. Himachal Pradesh has become the first state to prepare a DNA database of unidentified dead bodies . The process was started in April last year and so far records of 150 DNA samples of unidentified bodies have been stored in the database. The database will help in identification of bodies, which will prove to be a great relief to families searching for their loved ones and wandering from door to door with photographs and other details. The DNA samples of the relatives will be matched with the data/samples stored in the DNA profiling database and the exact details will be available within seconds.

The Super Pressure Balloon Imaging Telescope (SuperBIT) which launched on April 16, 2023 on a scientific super pressure balloon from Wanaka, New Zealand , took its first research images from this flyby of the Tarantula Nebula and the Antennae Galaxies . These images were captured aboard a balloon-borne telescope floating 108,000 feet above Earth’s surface, giving scientists the opportunity to view these scientific targets from a balloon platform in the near-space environment. Compared to an equivalent satellite, SuperBIT is relatively cheap, costing around £4.1 million/$5 million USD. Despite its low cost, SuperBIT has an impressive range of optical sensitivity from near-infrared (900 nm) to near ultraviolet (300 nm).
12. Danish fort to be restored in Tamil Nadu
Tharangambadi , also known as Tranquebar, has a 400 -year-old Danish fort , which will be renovated at a cost of 3.5 crores . The Danish people built a Danish fort at Tharangambadi in 1620 , also known as ‘Fort Dansborg’ in Danish. The fort was used as a base for soldiers of the Danish East India Company, who established a colony along the Coromandel Coast. Later, its administration was handed over to the British and then to India after independence. Since then, the fort has now been converted into a museum, which displays artefacts from the 16th century, managed by the tourism department.

15. 28 States and Union Territories adopt National Common Document Registration System for land records
28 States and Union Territories have implemented the National Common Document Registration System (NGDRS) for safekeeping of land records . Department of Land Resources (DoLR) says that e-registration is being given priority in these States and Union Territories or the States and Union Territories have shared their data on the National Portal of NGDRS through User Interface / API started. As per the latest data provided by the Real Estate Division of the Department of Land Resources, Unique Land Block Identification Number (ULPIN) or Bhu Aadhaar has been issued in 26 States/UTs. It has been adopted by the Government and implemented on a pilot basis by 7 States and Union Territories. Some states are also using ULPIN (Survey of Village Population and Mapping with Advanced Technology in Rural Areas) proprietary portal. This year till April 18, out of more than six lakh 56 thousand villages, land rights records have been computerized in more than six lakh 22 thousand villages.

Labor and Employment Minister Bhupendra Yadav launched some new features in the e-Shram Portal in New Delhi . The objective is to increase the utility of this portal for the unorganized sector workers . 17. Mohammad Sahabuddin sworn in as the 22nd President of Bangladesh

In 1975, he led a demonstration along with his family members against the brutal assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, for which he was imprisoned for three years.

SpaceX’s Spacecraft and Super Heavy Rocket, jointly known as Starship , a fully reusable transportation system It is designed to carry both crews and cargo to Earth orbit, the Moon, Mars, and beyond. It has the capability to transport a payload of up to 250 MT in “Expandable Mode” and up to 150 MT in “Fully Reusable” mode. Starship is powered by a series of Super Heavy Raptor engines, which use liquid methane (CH4) and liquid oxygen (LOX). A total of 33 Raptor engines power the first stage boosters.

It is a festival celebrated in honor of the philosopher, statesman, social reformer and saint in the Shaivism Bhakti movement during the 12th century . Basaveshwara is known for his teachings which include gender equality, social reform, eradication of social discrimination, awareness against superstition and unnecessary rituals etc. Shukla Paksha or Tritiya of Shukla Paksha during the month of Vaishaka is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Basaveshwara by the Lingayats in the state of Karnataka. Basaveshwara started the practice of wearing the Ishtalinga necklace which is the symbol of Lord Shiva and is worn by all Lingayats. The Anubhav Mantapa established by Basava laid the foundation of social democracy.

National Panchayati Raj Day is observed every year on 24 April to commemorate the 73rd Constitutional Amendment , which came into force on the same day in 1993 when Panchayats were given constitutional status as the third tier of local self-government in India. However, some states like Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal have already made Panchayats local self-government bodies. The 73rd and 74th amendments gave it an all-India character. Panchayati Raj has been more successful in increasing women’s representation, with one-third of the total seats reserved for women at the local level and some states providing 50% reservation for women in local body elections. This increased representation of women at the local level has resulted in various policy outcomes, including increased spending on community-based welfare and financial independence for women through self-help groups in many places. There is considerable variation in the level of financial autonomy granted to local government bodies in different states. For example, the two states with the best implementation of autonomy are Kerala and Maharashtra, while the two least successful are Odisha and Assam.

The International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace is observed every year on 24 April .
