The 72nd Inter-Services Football Championship was held from 15th to 20th October, 2021 at Maharaja Stadium, Kochi . Teams from Indian Navy, Army Red, Army Green and Indian Air Force participated in this four day championship organized by Signal School under the aegis of Southern Naval Command at Naval Base, Kochi. The final match was played between Army Red and Air Force. The championship was won by the Indian Air Force . The Chief Guest presented the Services Football Trophy to the Indian Air Force for the year 2021-22 and presented medals to the winning and runner-up team members. The objective of this championship is to select the Services football team for the Senior National Football Championship 2021-22.

10.’British museum’ to display world’s oldest map of celestial stars

The British Museum will soon display the world’s oldest map of the celestial stars in a major exhibition. According to experts , this disc- shaped map named ‘ Nebra Sky Disk ‘ was made in Germany about 3600 years ago. He was buried with two swords, axes, two spiral arm-rings and a bronze chisel at a place called ‘Nebra’. It is believed that these objects were buried as a dedication to the gods. The value of this disc is approximately $11 million. This map was discovered in the year 1999. About 30 cm. This disc with diameter was discovered along with other objects from the Bronze Age. It is considered one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the 20th century and is associated with the ‘Uniteis culture’ of parts of Europe around 1600 BC. The ‘Uniteis culture’ included early Bronze Age communities in Central Europe, including Bohemia, Bavaria, south-eastern Germany and western Poland.

11.RBI imposed a fine of Rs 1 crore on State Bank of India

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of Rs 1 crore on India’s largest public lender State Bank of India (SBI) . The penalty has been imposed for non-compliance of directions contained in the “RBI (Fraud Classification and Reporting by Commercial Banks and Selected Financial Institutions) Directions 2016”. The penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers vested in RBI under the provisions of section 47A(1)(c) read with sections 46(4)(i) and 51(1) of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.
