1. Government set a target to reduce air pollution by 20 to 30 percent by 2024

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Prakash Javadekar has said that under the National Clean Air Program , the government has set a target of reducing air pollution by 20 to thirty percent by 2024 . An MoU was signed today to implement action plans for 132 selected cities of the country to reduce air pollution . On this occasion, Mr. Javadekar said that under this program, a target has been set to improve air quality in one hundred cities.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and South Korean Defense Minister Suh Wook inaugurated the India-Korea Bilateral Friendship Park in Delhi Cantonment . This Friendship Park has been constructed to commemorate the contribution of Indian peacekeepers in the Korea War during 1950 to 1953. Mr. Suh Wook also paid tribute to the martyrs at the National Summer Memorial in New Delhi . Mr. Suh Wook of South Korea is on a three-day visit to India.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has extended the validity of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988 and the Central Motor Documents Vehicle Act-1989 till June 30 this year . Documents related to fitness, permit, driving license and registration are included under this Act. The Ministry has said that this step has been taken with the objective of controlling the speed of vehicles.

The Tuberculosis Eradication Program in Kerala was awarded the National Award by the Central Government for reducing the spread of the disease through various systemic aspects . Kerala is the only state to have been selected in the state category. A panel of experts created by the central government recently found that the southern state has reduced TB prevalence rates by up to 37.5 percent in the last five years as they meet the goals of sustainable development. Because of this, the state was given this national honor. The panel also said that the TB research system in the state is one of the best research systems in the world.
