1 Saugat-e-Modi campaign launched

 In  Bihar , the BJP Minority Front  launched  the Saugat-e-Modi campaign  on the occasion of  Eid-ul-Fitr festival  . The campaign was launched from the Patna High Court Dargah. BJP leader Danish Iqbal and many other party leaders were present. The aim of this initiative is to ensure that poor Muslim families can celebrate the festival without any hassle. New clothes, dry fruits, vermicelli, sugar and other items are being provided to these families as gifts. Many women expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP.

2 Central Government launched ‘Sahakar Taxi’ service

In view of  the increasing demand for commercial auto, taxi  , now the central government  has  launched ‘Sahakar Taxi’ service  . Actually, the central government on Thursday launched the new cooperative taxi service ‘ Sahakar Taxi ‘. Its aim is to provide  bike, cab and auto service  . The launch of this cooperative taxi service will challenge the companies dominating the online taxi market. The move is aimed at providing an alternative transport service, where drivers will be able to earn directly without sharing profits with big companies. Sahakar Taxi will register two-wheeler taxis, auto-rickshaws and four-wheeler taxis across the country. Let us tell you that earlier  a similar service named ” Yatri Sathi ” is already running  in West Bengal , which was earlier available only in Kolkata. Kerala was the first state in the country to launch  the government online taxi service ‘ Kerala Sawari ‘ in 2022.  Although it has been discontinued due to low usage, the state government is now planning to restart it with revised fares and better software.

3 Delhi Government signs MoU with Physicswala for free NEET-CUET preparation

 

The Delhi government  has started a scheme to provide  free online coaching  to students  to prepare for  competitive exams like NEET and CUET  . For this, the government  has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with  the famous education platform Physicswala . Chief Minister Rekha Gupta  and Education Minister  Ashish Sood  were present on this occasion. This step has been taken towards providing better education resources to the students of Delhi for free. Under this MoU, Physicswala will provide special coaching for 180 hours for 30 days. Classes will start from April 1 and will be completely online, so that students can study from home. The special thing is that no fee will be charged from any student for this. The Delhi government says that this initiative is especially for those students who cannot afford expensive coaching.

 

4 SourceX India 2025 inaugurated at Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, New Delhi

 

The 3rd edition  of  SourceX India 2025, organised  by  Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) in collaboration with  Ministry  of  Commerce & Industry , Government of India was  inaugurated   on  March 26, 2025 at Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, New Delhi  . The event was officially inaugurated  by  Shri Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Government of India.  of over 150 global buyers from over 45 countries including regions such as Africa, CIS, EU, LAC, NAFTA, NEA, Oceania, SA, SEA and WANA  , SourceX India 2025 is a premier platform for Indian exporters to connect with international markets. The event has participation from Indian companies from diverse sectors including food & beverages, health & beauty, fast-moving consumer goods and FMCDs, apparel, home furnishings, e-commerce services and logistics.

5 National Intellectual Property Awards 2024

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal  said  at the National Intellectual Property (IP) Awards 2024  ceremony that innovation will play an important role in building a developed India. The event  was held at Bharat Mandapam in   New Delhi on Wednesday. This year, awards were given in  13 categories  under  the National IP Awards 2024.  Among the prominent winners,  Siddramappa Sivasankar Dharane (male)  and  Dr. Swagatika Panda (female)  were honored  in the Top Indian Individual (Patent) category  . IIT Kanpur  received the award in the Top Indian Academic Institution (Patent) category. The honor of Top MSME (Patent Filing)  went to West Bengal Chemical Industries Limited  , while the award of Top Startup (IP Filing)   was given to  Numeros Motors Pvt. Ltd. Tata Steel Limited (Manufacturing)  and  Jio Platforms Limited (Service Sector)  won awards in the Top Public/Private Company (Patent Filing) category. This time the National IP Awards  were combined with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)  Awards. The  WIPO IP Enterprise Trophy  was awarded to  Jio Platforms Limited  and  Tata Steel Limited . The WIPO Inventors Medal was awarded to Siddramappa Shivashankar Dharane  , while the WIPO Users Trophy   was awarded to Biocon Biologics Limited and IIT Kanpur .

 

6 India became the world’s second largest tea exporter, leaving Sri Lanka behind

 India has overtaken  its neighbour  Sri Lanka  to become  the second largest tea exporter in the world .  According to the latest data released by  the Indian Tea Board in this regard, India exported 255 million kg of tea in 2024.  In this sequence,  Kenya  has retained its top position. Despite uncertainties in the global market due to geopolitical tensions, India’s tea exports reached 255 million kg in 2024, the highest level in 10 years. The country’s exports in 2024 grew by a strong 10 percent from the same figure of 231.69 million kg recorded in 2023. India is one of the top five tea exporters in the world, accounting for  about 10 percent of total world exports  . India’s Assam, Darjeeling and Nilgiri teas are considered to be among the finest teas in the world. Most of the tea exported from India is ‘ black tea ‘, which  makes up about 96 percent of the total exports  . Other varieties include regular tea, green tea, herbal tea, masala tea and lemon tea.

 

7 BoB launches Baroda mDigiNext mobile app to improve corporate cash management

 In  March 2025 , Vadodara (Gujarat)  -based  Bank of Baroda (BoB) , one of India’s leading public sector banks (PSB), launched   a dedicated Cash Management Services app, ‘Cash Management Services’ for its corporate customers  using  Baroda Cash Management Services (BCMS) . launched a dedicated Cash Management Services app, ‘ Baroda mDigiNext . The app aims to transform the way businesses manage their working capital and cash flow, bringing greater efficiency and faster execution and ease of operations. This makes BoB one of the few banks in India to offer a specially designed app to meet corporate cash management needs.

8 Tamil Nadu wins National Award for efficient water resources management

 In  March 2025 , the Water Resources Department  (WRD)  of the Tamil Nadu  (TN) government was awarded the “ Excellence in Integrated Water Resources Management, 2024 ” by  the Central Board of Irrigation and Power (CBIP) , a body under the central government. This recognition  is funded by   the World Bank Tamil Nadu Irrigated Agriculture Modernisation Project (TNIAMP).  Launched in 2017, TNIAMP is a flagship project designed to enhance the productivity and climate resilience of irrigated agriculture across 47 river sub-basin areas in Tamil Nadu.

9 Paras Defence bags Rs 142 crore contract from CHESS to develop anti-drone laser system

In March 2025,  Mumbai  (Maharashtra)-based  Paras Defence and Space Technologies Ltd  has  secured a Rs 142.31 crore contract from   Hyderabad  (Telangana)-based  Centre for High Energy Systems and Sciences (CHESS)  , a division of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO)   under   the Ministry of Defence (MoD) . The company  will develop  a laser source module  and deploy it  on a mobile platform for  anti-drone and anti-missile applications and integrate it with a beam control system (BCS)  , leading to high-power laser technology for modern warfare. The project is planned to be completed in 24 months.

10 Bellatrix Aerospace and Astroscale Japan partner for space debris removal and in-orbit mobility

In March 2025,  Bengaluru  (Karnataka)-based  Bellatrix Aerospace Private Limited  has   acquired a subsidiary of  Tokyo ,  Japan-  based  Astroscale Holdings Inc.  to enhance efforts in active debris removal, satellite servicing, and in-orbit mobility signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with  Aerospace Japan,  in-orbit mobility. The aim of this collaboration is to promote a clean and safe space environment. The agreement seeks to explore opportunities for the growth of the Indian space industry and its further expansion in domestic markets. Astroscale Japan is at the forefront of developing advanced in-orbit servicing and space debris mitigation solutions. The company offers a wide range of scalable services, including: life extension of satellites, space situational awareness, end-of-life disposal, active debris removal

11 McLaren’s Oscar Piastri scores first F1 Chinese Grand Prix win

Oscar Jack Piastri  of  Australia , a  Formula One (F1) driver  for  McLaren  ,  recorded his first  Chinese Grand Prix (GP) 2025  win at the Shanghai International Circuit   in  Shanghai, China , leading the race from pole position to the finish. British racing driver  Lando Norris (McLaren)  finished second, making it a strong one-two result for McLaren. It is also the 50th such achievement for the team in F1 history.

World Theatre Day is celebrated every year on  27 March   to honour theatre, its artists and its role in cultural exchange and human expression.  This year’s theme is Theatre and Culture of Peace  . World Theatre Day was started in the year 1961 by the International Theatre Institute.
