1.Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust wins “Rajbhasha Kirti Award” for 11thconsecutive time :-
Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) was awarded the “Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar” for the year 2016-17 in the category of ‘B’ region for autonomous bodies and boards, for its excellent implementation of the Official Language.
The award (second prize) was presented at an elegant ceremony at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on the occasion of Hindi Divas celebration on September 14, 2017. This is the 11th consecutive year that Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust has won this award.
Deputy Chairman of JNPT, Shri Neeraj Bansal accepted the award from the Honourable President of India, Shri Ramnath Kovind.
2.China opens Tibet to reach Nepal by highway :-
China has opened a strategic highway through Tibet to the Nepal border, which can be used for civil and military purposes. According to a media report, Chinese experts say about this move that Beijing will be able to enter South Asia.
The 40.4-kilometer long highway in Shirdesh airport and Shiges city in Tibet was officially opened on Friday for the people. The small portion of this highway connects it to the Nepal border.
This highway will reduce the distance between civilians used for military purposes and the distance between Tibet’s second largest city, half an hour
3.France creates Davis Cup final :-
France has confirmed the final in the Davis Cup semi-finals with a 3-1 lead unbeaten on Serbia.
Already due to the absence of players like Novak Djokovic, Yanko Tipsarevic and Victor Tricky, the Serbia team, already weak, gave a tough fight to France though.
In the final, France will be competing against the winner of another semi-final between Belgium and Australia. At the moment, Australia is leading 2-1 ahead.
4.Assam will have a state-of-the-art skill city :-
A state-of-the-art skill city with capacity of ten thousand training seats will be created in Assam. Under the mission, skill training centers will be set up at block level.
Every facility will be provided for skill development in the proposed Skill City. Within five years, this plan is likely to come true.
The government will provide skill development training to thirty thousand insurgents who surrendered.
5.64th National Film Awards Announced :-
64th National Film Awards have been announced. The film Kosav directed by Sumitra Bhave and Sunil Sukthankar has been selected as the best feature film.
For Akshay Kumar, Rustam for the film, Surabhi CM for Best Actor and Malayalam Film, Mina Minungu the Fire Fly.
Has been chosen as Best Actress. Neeraja has been declared the best Hindi film. Sonam Kapoor will be given a special award for his outstanding role in the film. The President of the Jury, Priyadarshan, while announcing the awards, said that the film directed by Nagesh Kukunoor will be given the Best Child Film Award.
6.Import duty on sports goods for Football World Cup :-
The Central Government has relaxed the import duty on sports goods and other items for players under the age of 17 years for the forthcoming Football World Cup.
This World Cup will be held in India from October 6 to 28 . This is the first major event of the International Football Federation in India.
7.SBI is reviewing the minimum amount :-
State Bank of India (SBI) has said that after receiving the response from the consumers, it is reviewing the fee on non-maintenance of monthly average amount. The managing director of the bank said , ” We have received feedback from consumers and we are reviewing them.”
The bank will take a proper decision keeping them in mind. He further said , we are discussing at the internal level whether the fee for the certain category of consumers such as senior citizens or students should be improved or not.
SBI reinstated the fee after not keeping the monthly average balance in April this year after the interval of five years. Under this, if the monthly average is not kept in the account 100The fees and GST of rupees were made.
Monthly average balance in urban areas was fixed at five thousand rupees. Monthly average balance for rural areas was fixed at Rs.1000 and for non-maintenance , provision of 20 to 50 rupees and GST was made.
8.Aamir Khan was honored with the 75th Master Dinanath Mangeshkar Award :-
Film actor Aamir Khan has been conferred the 75th Master Dinanath Mangeshkar Award for his magnificent film Dangle.
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat honored several area personalities in the program with the Dinanath Mangeshkar Award Special Award. After receiving the award, Aamir dedicates this award to the screenwriter of the film.
Film director Nitesh Tiwari expressed gratitude to the audience for making the film a hit. Cricketer Kapil Dev received the award for his contribution in cricket.
9.75th Master Dinanath Mangeshkar Award was announced :-
The 75th Master Dinanath Mangeshkar Award was announced yesterday in Mumbai. Actor Aamir Khan will be honored with special award for the film Dangle.
Famous cricketer Kapil Dev will be rewarded for his contribution to Indian cinema in Hindi cinema and actor Vaijayanti Mala Bali. Mohanvag award for best drama will be given to Sunil Barve for immortal photo studio Sudak Sangh’s drama.
Master Dinanath Smruti Pratishthan and Hridayesh Arts will organize awards ceremony in Mumbai on Monday.
10.These 6 banks will be invalid after September 30 :-
The country’s public sector bank State Bank of India (SBI) has asked its five former associate banks and Indian women bank customers to apply for a new check book.
The bank has asked customers to apply for a new check book with immediate effect, since the checks and IFS codes of the old bank will not be valid after September 30, 2017. These will be termed invalid.
SBI has asked the customers to apply for new check books immediately after going to internet banking, mobile banking, ATM or the branch.
For information, the associate banks which have been merged with SBI include State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Travancore and Indian Women Bank.
In State Bank of Mysore, SBI had 90 percent share, while Bikaner and Jaipur had 75.07 percent. SBI’s stake in Travancore is 79.09 per cent.
