The new parliament building   is built in  65 thousand square meters . Due to its triangular shape,  it has made maximum use of the space. The Lok Sabha chamber has 888 seats  and its theme is  the national bird peacock. based on. The Rajya Sabha chamber has 384 seats  and   is based on the theme of the national flower lotus .

 President  Recep Tayyip Erdogan  has once again won the general election in Turkey . Turkey also gets a lot of importance due to its geographical location. 3 US President and House Speaker agree to deal to raise federal government’s $31.4 trillion debt limit

 There has been an agreement in principle between  President  Joe Biden  and  the Speaker of the US Parliament  and  Cabinet McCarthy  of  the Republican Party on the issue of increasing  the government’s debt limit in  the US from 31 trillion. There was a deadlock between the two on this issue for several months. This agreement will save the country’s economy from becoming unstable, although the approval of the Congress is yet to be received on this agreement. The US Treasury Department had warned that if the debt limit is not extended till June 5, financial instability may arise.

4 High Commission of India in Bangladesh launches G-20 mega beach cleanup campaign at Patanga beach in Chittagong

 The High Commission  of India  in  Bangladesh  launched the G-20 Mega Beach Cleanup campaign  at  Patanga Beach  in  Chittagong  in collaboration with  local organizations . During the event, a pledge was taken to protect the oceans from pollution and garbage. The objective of the G20 Mega Beach Cleanup campaign was to sensitize and create awareness among people about the impact of marine waste on the environment. Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranab Verma said that Bangladesh’s acceptance of Indian invitation as the guest nation during the G20 meeting chaired by India reflects the deep and comprehensive partnership between the two countries.

5 Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ will be on an official visit to India from May 31 to June 3

Nepal  ‘s Prime Minister  Pushpa Kamal Dahal  ‘ Prachanda ‘   will be on an official visit to India from May 31 to June 3  at the invitation of  Prime Minister Narendra Modi . This is his first bilateral visit to India after assuming office in December 2022. A high level delegation will also come to India with him. During the visit to India, the Prime Minister of Nepal will call on President Draupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and hold in-depth discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on various areas of bilateral partnership between India and Nepal.

6 Union Minister Shri Parshottam Rupala to launch the sixth phase of “Sagar Parikrama” in Andaman tomorrow

Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying,  Shri Parshottam Rupala  has  met fishermen, fish farmers and beneficiaries of various government schemes  and directly discussed their problems and suggestions to take forward the fisheries sector in the country, for the benefit of fishermen and other stakeholders. To interact with them,  this unique initiative of Sagar Parikrama  has been started to visit the coastal areas of the entire country through a predetermined sea-route. The first phase of Sagar Parikrama  started on 5 March 2022 from Mandvi, Gujarat, and so far five phases of Sagar Parikrama have covered Gujarat, Daman and Diu on the west coast  ,  coastal areas of Maharashtra and Karnataka . In  the sixth phase  of Sagar Parikrama The areas of Andaman and Nicobar Islands  to be covered include Kauria-Ghat, Port Blair, Pani Ghat Fish Landing Centre, V K Pur Fish Lending Centre, Hutbay, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island etc. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands, because of its long coast of 1,962 kilometers and continental shelf area of ​​35,000 square kilometers, have vast potential for development of fisheries. The Exclusive Economic Zone around the island is about 6,00,000 square kilometers, which has immense potential in fisheries.

7 Three Indian peacekeepers to be awarded UN’s Dag Hammarskjold Medal

Three Indian  UN peacekeepers  will be posthumously awarded the Dag Hammarskjold Medal  at a felicitation ceremony at  the UN Headquarters . Three Indian peacekeepers who lost their lives while serving under the UN flag last year are among 103 military, police and civilian peacekeepers to be posthumously awarded the prestigious medal for their supreme sacrifice of service and line of duty. The three Indians include Border Security Force Head Constables  Shishupal Singh  and  Sanwala Ram Vishnoi  , who served with the Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and  Shabar Taher Ali , who served in a civilian capacity with the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq .

8 R Dinesh appointed as CII President for 2023-24

 Executive Vice President,  TVS Supply Chain Solutions R. Dinesh  has taken over as the president of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)  for 2023-24  , while Sanjiv Puri, managing director of ITC, has been named as the chairman. The National Council of CII meeting held in New Delhi to elect new office bearers for 2023-24 has nominated Rajeev Memani, President, India Region, EY as the Vice President.

9 Central government signs agreement with 6 states to launch digital crop survey

The Central Government   signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 6 State Governments  of  Assam, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh (MP), Odisha, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh (UP)  to launch  Digital Crop Survey . This agreement was signed during the National Conference of State Agriculture Secretaries and State Revenue Secretaries on Digital Crop Survey organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) in New Delhi, Delhi to discuss with the State Governments for the implementation of the Digital Crop Survey Scheme. was signed. A manual for web portal and mobile application for digital crop survey was also unveiled.

10 Clean energy investment faster than investment in fossil fuels: IEA

 According to   a new report  World Energy Investment 2023 (WEI 2023) by the International Energy Agency (IEA), clean energy investment  has grown by 70% more than investment in fossil fuels. Comparing the IEA’s projections for 2023 and 2021, annual  clean energy investment  grew faster than investment in fossil fuels (24% versus 15%). The report states that in 2023, the investment in energy is estimated to be around US$ 2.8 trillion. Of this, over US$1.7 trillion will be invested in clean energy (renewable energy, nuclear, grids, storage, low-emission fuels, efficiency improvements and electrification) and the rest (over US$1 trillion) will be spent on fossil fuels.

Apex steel industry body,  Indian Steel Association (ISA)  and  ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations)  Iron and Steel Council (AISC)  have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to open new avenues of growth and sustainability in steel sector . The MoU signed for bilateral cooperation aims to leverage the strengths, expertise and resources of both the organizations to open new avenues for growth, innovation and sustainability in the steel industry. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Dilip Oommen, ISA President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel AM/NS India and AISC President Purwono Widodo – AISC President and PT Krakatau Steel President Director – Indonesia in Manila Philippines.

12 South Korea launches NEXTSat-2 first commercial-grade satellite on Nuri

South Korea  successfully   launched  Next Generation Small Satellite 2 (NEXTSat-2), the first commercial flight  of  Korean Satellite Launch Vehicle II (KSLV-II) ,  from the launch pad at  Naro Space Center in Goheung  , South Jeolla Province, Seoul, South Korea.  -grade satellite  , which   has been named Noori . NEXTSat-2 is the main payload of Nuri, whose mission is to deploy a total of 8 satellites (NEXTSat-2 and 7 small cube satellites (CubeSats)) into a sun-synchronous orbit orbiting the Earth at an altitude of 550 km. This is also the third launch of Korea’s domestically developed Nuri rocket.

13 GCC’s Araku coffee from Andhra Pradesh gets organic certification

Girijan Cooperative Corporation (GCC)  has received National Organic Production Program (NPOP)  certificate  for GCC procurement of  coffee and black pepper  from tribal coffee farmers of   Chintapalli Division, Andhra Pradesh (AP) . The certificate was granted by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI). This certification will provide scope for higher price for coffee and black pepper. On 2,184.76 acres, 1,900 tribal farmers from the Gondupakalu, Lambasingi and Kappalu groups in Chintapalli division cultivate coffee. Girijana Vikas Swachhand Sanstha, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), assisted in obtaining organic certification for GCC Araku Valley Coffee.

14 PhonePe becomes first payment app to link Rs 2 lakh credit card with UPI

PhonePe , a digital payment service provider,   announced that it   has become the first digital payment app to enable integration of  Rs  2 lakh credit cards with the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) . It has also processed a total payment value (TPV) of Rs 150 crore through RuPay credit on UPI. TPV refers to the total transaction value processed through the platform in a given time period.

15 India’s HS Prannoy won the title of Malaysia Masters Badminton Tournament

India’s  HS Prannoy  has   created history by winning the title of  Malaysia Masters badminton tournament . In the men’s singles final in Kuala Lumpur  , Prannoy   defeated  Weng Hongyang of China .  Prannoy is the third Indian player  to win this title after  Saina Nehwal  and  PV Sindhu . With this, he   became the first Indian to win men’s singles gold medal .

World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen  won   the  2nd leg of  the Grand Chess Tour (GCT) 2023 Superbowl Rapid & Blitz Poland  at the Museum of the History of  Polish Jews . World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen, the Norwegian Grandmaster, finished with a score of 24/36 and won the first place prize of $40,000. Jan-Krijstof Duda finished second after winning the final game against Carlsen, the local favorite and defending champion, who led on the final day and finished just one point behind with 23/36, forcing a playoff .

18 UNGA declares 26 November as World Sustainable Transport Day

 During the 70th plenary meeting of the 77th session of the  United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) , the resolution A/RES/77/286 was adopted and  declared 26 November  every  year as the World Sustainable Transport Day . The day aims to raise awareness and educate the general public about the importance of international cooperation in addressing issues related to transport sustainability. The first World Sustainable Transport Day will be celebrated on 26 November 2023. The resolution was initiated by Turkmenistan. November 26 was chosen to mark the anniversary of the first United Nations (UN) Global Sustainable Transport Conference.  Which was held on 26 and 27 November 2016  in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan .
