Hyderabad -based company Anant Technologies has received approval to launch India’s first private satellite broadband service . The project has been approved by IN-SPACe (Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center) and is expected to be launched in 2028. The service will be operated entirely through satellites built in India. The move is a significant effort by India to compete with global players like Starlink, OneWeb and Amazon Kuiper in space-based internet services. The service will be operated from a satellite installed in geostationary orbit , which is located at an altitude of more than 35,000 kilometers from the Earth . In this orbit, the satellite remains stationary above the same point on the Earth , ensuring continuous and stable internet service . The project has been approved by IN-SPACe, the official space regulatory body for private companies in India.
