1. Supreme Court simplifies the process of euthanasia

The Supreme Court has amended its 2018 order regarding euthanasia . The Court has made provision to make the process of withdrawal of life support from terminally ill patients less burdensome for the patients, their families and doctors. The Supreme Court has removed the condition that required the approval of a magistrate to take a seriously ill person off life support. Justice K.M. A five-judge constitution bench headed by Joseph said that the document will now have a ” living will “.shall be signed in the presence of two witnesses. The bench also said that the witness and the notary shall satisfy that the document has been executed voluntarily and without any coercion or inducement or coercion and with the full understanding of all. A living will in the form of an advance directive is a legal document that states what a person wants to do or not want to do in case they are unable to express their wishes. Euthanasia is the process of intentionally ending a person’s life in order to end pain or suffering.

2. First Made in India Cervical Cancer Vaccine Launched

On the occasion of National Girl Child Day and Cervical Cancer Awareness Month , Union Home Minister Amit Shah has launched the country’s first Made in India cervical cancer vaccine ‘ Servavac ‘. Cervical cancer is the second deadliest disease affecting women. Cervical cancer vaccine ‘ServVac’ is a collaboration between Serum Institute, Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation . The company has taken about six to seven years to produce this vaccine. Serum Institute had received market authorization from the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) in the year 2022 to develop a vaccine for cervical cancer.

3. All India Radio News Services Division conferred with the National Award for Outstanding Contribution towards Voter Awareness

4. Indian Army to buy robotic mule and jetpack suit

Taking the next game-changing leap, the Indian Army has decided to procure hi-tech equipment jetpack suits and robotic mule for deployment in special situations. For this, the army has decided to spend the money received under emergency power . The Indian Army has floated a tender to buy 100 robotic mules and 48 jet pack suits to add hi-tech equipment to its inventory. According to the information, where the soldiers will be able to lift heavy loads on the basis of robotic mule, on the other hand, on the basis of jet pack suits, they can also run at a speed of 50 km. This will increase the mobility of Indian soldiers tremendously.

5. Six day ‘Bharat Parv’ organized at Red Fort, Delhi

As part of the Republic Day celebrations , a six-day mega event Bharat Parv will be organized at the Red Fort in Delhi from January 26 to January 31 . The Union Ministry of Tourism has told that during this time some of the best tableaux of the Republic Day parade will be shown. Apart from this cultural performances by regional cultural centers as well as cultural troupes of states and union territories, an all India food court with 65 handicraft stalls and craft market will also be organised. After a gap of two years, this program is being organized directly in front of the Red Fort. Branding and promotion of Dekho Apna Desh, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, G-20 and Mission Life will also be done during the event.

6. 43 people will get Jeevan Raksha Padak series awards

President Draupadi Murmu has approved the conferment of Jeevan Raksha Padak Series of Awards – 2022 on 43 persons . Out of these 7 people will be given Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, 8 people will be given Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak and 28 people will be given Jeevan Raksha Padak. Four persons are being honored posthumously. The Ministry of Home Affairs has informed that these awards are given for doing commendable work in saving the life of a person.

7. Firefighters and Home Guards honored with President’s Award

Fire service personnel and home guards and civil defense personnel have been awarded the President’s Medal on the occasion of Republic Day this year . According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, 47 personnel were awarded Fire Service Medals . Two of these personnel were awarded the Fire Service Medal for their gallantry and courage. Seven personnel were awarded Fire Service Medals for distinguished service. 55 jawans were also awarded Home Guard and Civil Defense medals on the occasion. One personnel was awarded Gallantry Medal for gallantry and courage.

11. Agreement signed between Prasar Bharati and Egypt

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Hassan Shoukry on Wednesday signed an MoU in the field of content exchange, capacity building and co-production. The tie -up is part of Prasar Bharati ‘s efforts to expand the reach of its DD India channel , to showcase the country’s progress through programs focused on economy, technology, social development and rich cultural heritage. The agreement, which will be valid for three years, will also facilitate co-creation and training of executives of both the broadcasters in the latest technologies. Prasar Bharati currently has 39 foreign broadcasters for cooperation and collaboration in the field of broadcasting.have entered into an agreement with.

12. Increase in allowances of gallantry award winners in Jammu and Kashmir

The Administrative Council of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir , under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha , has approved the increase in the annual allowance of soldiers of the state who have been honored with gallantry awards . Due to inflation, the allowance was increased for the gallantry awardees of other States and Union Territories. In view of this, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has also approved the increase in the annual allowance. According to the revised rate, the Param Vir Chakra winner will now get Rs 1 lakh 75 thousand instead of Rs 1 lakh 25 thousand . Rs 1.5 lakh to Ashok Chakra, Mahavir Chakra and Kirti Chakra winners and Rs 1.5 lakh to Vir Chakra winnersWill get an annual allowance of Rs 75 thousand .
