1.Troubled Toshiba reports unaudited results after 2 delays :-

Toshiba Corp., whose U.S. nuclear unit Westinghouse Electric Co. has filed for bankruptcy protection, reported unaudited earnings on Tuesday and projected a 1.01 trillion yen ($9.2 billion) loss for the fiscal year that ended in March.

2.Tendulkar, Rekha poor at Parliament attendance :-

Former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and former actor Rekha have very poor attendance in the Rajya Sabha among the 12 nominated members, according to an analysis by Factly.in, a data journalism portal.

3.India, Australia sign six agreements :-

India and Australia have singed six agreements in various fields such as terrorism, sports, health, environment, aviation sector to boost bilateral cooperation.

Signed MoUs are :

(i)MoU on Cooperation in Sports.

(ii)MoU on Cooperation in the field of Health and Medicine.

(iii)MoU on Cooperation in the field of Environment, Climate and Wildlife.

(iv)MoU for Promotion and Development of Cooperation in Civil Aviation Security

(v)MoU on Cooperation in Combatting International Terrorism and Transnational Organized Crime.

(vi)Implementation arrangement between ISRO and Geoscience Australia on Cooperation in Earth Observation and Satellite Navigation.

4.Sindhu, Garg in fray for BWF athletes’ commission :-

Olympic silver-medallist and world No.2 P V Sindhu will be among the nine shuttlers vying for a position in the Badminton World Federation’s Athletes Commission.

The other Indian in fray for the four slots is relatively unknown male shuttler called Nikhar Garg, known more for his anti-establishment voice in the badminton fraternity than for his on-court performances.

5.Nepal tables new Constitution amendment bill to address Madhesis’ demands :-

The Nepal government on Tuesday tabled a new Constitution amendment bill in Parliament to address the demands of the agitating Madhesi parties which are demanding more representation and re-demarcation of state boundaries ahead of next month’s local elections.

6.Indian Coast Guard rescues Pak. Patrol :-

Coast Guard personnel and fishermen rescued two members of the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) after their boat capsized in Indian waters early on Monday.

The Coast Guard and fishermen also retrieved the bodies of three personnel, who were killed in the accident that occurred just hours before the Pakistan government announced that a military court martial had sentenced former Indian naval commander Kulbhushan Jadhav to death. One PMSA guard is missing.

7.Jadhav has 60 days to go on appeal :-

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Tuesday said Kulbhushan Jadhav, the Indian national who has been sentenced to death by a military court for alleged involvement in espionage, can appeal before the Army Chief and the President in 60 days and that the country would follow the legal course in the case.

8.Washington Post, NY Times win Pulitzers for work on Trump, Putin :-

The Pulitzer Prizes on Monday honored The Washington Post for hard-hitting reporting on Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and The New York Times for revealing Vladimir Putin’s covert power grab, praising their probing of powerful people despite a hostile climate for the news media.

The Daily News of New York and ProPublica, a web-based platform specializing in investigative journalism, won the prize for public service journalism for coverage of New York police abuses that forced mostly poor minorities from their homes.

9.Seven juniors get senior call-up :-

Seven players from the junior ranks found a place in India’s squad for the 26th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, announced here on Tuesday. Four of those — goalkeeper Sumit Karkera, defender Gurinder Singh, and midfielders Sumit and Manpreet (Jr) — are in line to debut, while Surender Kumar, Harmanpreet Singh and Harjeet Singh have already earned senior caps.

10.Jio rejigs ‘Summer Surprise’ :-

Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio has started offering ‘Dhan Dhana Dhan’ offer for ₹309 after telecom regulator TRAI asked the company to stop its ₹303 ‘Summer Surprise’ offer.

The new offer gives consumers 84 GB of data for 84 days for ₹309 and 168 GB of data for 84 days for ₹509 according to Jio’s website.
