1. The President inaugurated the centenary celebrations of South India Hindi Campaign –

President Shri Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the centenary celebrations of South India Hindi Campaign in New Delhi today (September 22, 2018). Speaking on the occasion, the President said that languages combine people. There are many languages and dialects in India. All of them have their own special nature and beauty. This diversity enhances the culture and goodness of India. He said that institutions such as South India Hindi Promotions Sabha have strengthened the foundations of country’s unity and harmony. I am told that the meeting has developed a network of about 20 thousand active campaigners.

The President said that every Indian should try to learn an Indian language other than its own language. When a Hindi-speaking youth learns Tamil , Telugu , Malayalam or Kannada , then present them with a very rich tradition. This information can create new opportunities for each person.

3. Assamese Film, Village Rockstars Oscar Award for 2019 –

India’s official entry for the Assamese Film Village Rockstars Oscars 2019, directed by Rima Das will be. The Indian Film Federation- All India Judicial Commission of FFI announced today in Mumbai. Kannada producer Rajendra Singh Babu was the chairman of the jury. Village Rockstars is the story of children who are poor but they are full of energy. This film received the Best Feature Film Award for the Paithav National Film Awards.

 

4. PM to launch Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana at Ranchi –

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, will launch the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) at Ranchi, Jharkhand, on September 23, 2018. Under this scheme, over 10 crore families will be provided health assurance worth Rs. 5 lakh each, every year. The Prime Minister will visit an exhibition on the PMJAY. He will witness a demonstration of activities such as beneficiary identification, and e-card creation. On September 24, the Prime Minister will inaugurate Pakyong Airport, which will bring the State of Sikkim on the country’s aviation map.

 

5. PNB drags Lanco Vidarbha Thermal Power to NCLT –

Lanco Vidarbha Thermal Power Limited, a subsidiary of Lanco Infratech Limited, now faces proceedings in the National Company Law Tribunal with the Punjab National Bank dragging it to the tribunal in Hyderabad for resolution. The diversified Lanco group’s woes seem to continue with Lanco Infratech Limited already on liquidation process and another group entity tackling legal proceedings and the Vidharbha unit is now taken to NCLT, Hyderabad. Petitioning the NCLT Hyderabad bench, the PNB has pleaded to take the case for the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Plan under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code.

8. Seasonal air service will begin from October 1, from Bangkok to Bangkok now in three and a half hours –

From October 1, Thai Smile is going to launch direct flights between Benares and Bangkok. According to the information received from the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport of Varanasi, this service will be available on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. At 12.30 am, the plane will fly from Bangkok and Varanasi will land at 3.50 a.m. in the daytime. In return, the aircraft will fly for Bangkok at 4.45 PM and will land at the Swarnabhoomi International Airport Bangkok at 8 o’clock at night. Meanwhile, it will cover the distance of 2253 kms. Online ticket booking has started. Ankur Singh, local manager of the airline, said that the time can be changed after 28 October, considering the number of tourists. This flight service will continue till March 2019.
