1.The President will be on tour of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh from May 20 to 24 :-

President Shri Ram Nath Kovind will be on tour of Punjab (Mohali) and Himachal Pradesh from May 20 to 24, 2018. During his visit (May 20-24) in Himachal Pradesh, His Excellency will stay in The Retreat in Mosobra near President Shimla.  

 

2.BRICS Ministerial Meeting on ‘Green Good Deeds’ launched by Dr. Harsh Vardhan on global accredited environment has included Green Good Deeds in its official agenda :-

3.Prime Minister inaugurated the Kishanganga hydroelectric project; Pakal Dul Power Project in Jammu and Kashmir :-

Image result for pmPrime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the Kishanganga hydroelectric project in Jammu and Kashmir today and laid the foundation stone of Pokal Dul Power Project. With completion of Pakal Dul with 1000 MW capacity, Jammu and Kashmir will be the largest hydro power project. It is also the first storage project in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Kishanganga hydroelectric project will provide 13 percent free electricity to the state which will be equivalent to about 133 crore rupees per year. The project will have other benefits to the state as the people of Jammu and Kashmir will get employment, the infrastructure in the state will be developed etc. It is estimated that 1850 local people will be involved in this project through direct and indirect employment during the construction phase and 750 local people will be involved during the operational phase.

 

4.Talks between PM Modi and President Putin on the issues of oil, Iran and America :-

Image result for PM Modi and President Putin on the issues of oilPrime Minister Narendra Modi is going on a trip to Russia from Monday. Here he will discuss key issues with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This meeting is very special in many respects. This visit of PM Modi is also special because Putin invited the Prime Minister himself to visit Russia after holding the president’s fourth term for the fourth time. This meeting between the two leaders is going to happen in the city of Sochi, Russia. PM Modi will also visit Putin’s resort here. In Sochi, Putin also talked to German Chancellor Angela Merkel about the US. In the past ten days, Putin has met here many heads of state. However this is the first meeting between Modi and Putin this year. Let us know that by the end of this year, President Putin will also visit India. Earlier, Modi Modi also met Chinese President Xi Chunfing last month. Had to PM Modi tweeted about this tour and gave information.

 

5.Gurusach Kaur becomes the first turban Sikh woman officer of New York Police :-

Image result for New York Police DepartmentBharatwanshi Gurusoch Kaur has become the first turbaned Sikh woman to be appointed as Assistant Police Officer in New York Police Department (NYPD). After completing his studies from the New York Police Academy, Kaur has been given this appointment. It is expected that the appointment of Gurusoch will encourage other women to join the NYPD and increase awareness about Sikhism in the country.

 

6.India will build unmanned tanks, ships and aircraft for future war :-

Image result for Artificial IntelligenceUnder an ambitious defense project, the government has started work on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the Armed Forces. The objective of the project is to enhance the safety forces by equipping them with unmanned tanks, ships, planes and robotic weapons in their strategic preparations so that the Indian Army, Air and Navy can be prepared for future war. Explain that China is also increasingly investing in its army for the widespread use of Artificial Intelligence. Artificial Intelligence is a field of computer science related to the creation of skilled machines.

 

7.India is the sixth richest country in the world, know who is included in Top 5 :-

In terms of top 5 richest countries in the US 62,584 occupies the top spot with a net worth of billions of dollars. After this, China is second with $ 24,803 billion and Japan third with $ 19,522 billion. After the fourth comes the UK with dollar assets 9,919 billion, has replaced Germany ranked fifth with a total assets of $ 9,660 billion.

10.Jammu Kashmir to get 12% free electricity from Pakal dul hydro power project :-

In the Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir, the proposed 1,000 MW capacity of Pakal Dul hydroelectric power on the river Marusadar will provide 12 % free electricity to the state . The project will be completed in 66 months. Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the construction of the proposed hydro power project.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Power here today said that all clearances have been obtained for the project of the Pakul Dul. It aims to generate 333.02 million units of electricity annually . The total cost of the project is estimated at 8,112.12 crores. It is not only the state’s largest hydroelectric project but also the first storage unit. The goal of this hydroelectric project is to complete in 66 months. It expects 3,000 people to get employment in the construction phase . On the same, 500 people will be employed in the operational phase .
