1 Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh launched AI-enabled voice chatbot ‘Samadhaan Didi’

 

Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions,  launched   ”   Samadhan Didi,” an AI-enabled voice chatbot  for CPGRAMS ,  in  New Delhi . Developed by  the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances  in collaboration with Bhashini,  the chatbot enables citizens  to register public grievances  through  a conversational interface  . Addressing reporters, Dr. Jitendra Singh described Samadhan Didi as a significant step towards the government’s grievance redressal system. He stated that Samadhan Didi currently supports all 22 scheduled Indian languages, and efforts are underway to include additional regional and local languages. Samadhan Didi is a voice-based and multilingual grievance registration system designed to simplify the grievance redressal process for citizens. It helps them connect with the appropriate department or authority quickly and efficiently. Citizens can register complaints in multiple Indian languages ​​via voice or text, making grievance redressal faster, smarter, and more accessible.

2 Myanmar President Oo Min Aung Hlaing arrives in New Delhi for a five-day visit to India

 

Myanmar  President  Oo Min Aung Hlaing has arrived in New Delhi on a five-day visit   to India  . Union Minister of State for External Affairs  Kirti Vardhan Singh welcomed him at the airport . Earlier, the Myanmar President  visited Gaya in Bihar and offered prayers at the Mahabodhi Temple . He is accompanied by a high-level delegation of several ministers, senior officials, and business leaders. This is President Oo Min Aung Hlaing’s first visit to India while in office.

3 Centre notifies two new Special Economic Zones in Puducherry

The Government of India  has notified  two new Special Economic Zones (SEZs)   in  the Union Territory of Puducherry . The proposals were approved by the Board of Approval for SEZs, which functions under the Department of Commerce.

First SEZ developed by an Urban Local Body (ULB) : An IT/ITES SEZ is being developed by the Oulgaret Municipality in   Thattanchavady village  , one of the notified areas  . This is a historic milestone as it is the first SEZ to be developed by a municipal body (urban local body) in India. Spread over 8.62 hectares, it involves a proposed investment of ₹725 crore and is expected to generate 3,500 direct and indirect jobs. Multi-Sector SEZ developed by PIPDIC : The second project  is a multi-sector SEZ developed by the Pondicherry Industrial Promotion Development and Investment Corporation (PIPDIC)  in Karasur village (Villayanur taluk) . It aims to establish a variety of manufacturing and service industries to boost regional exports.

4 Finance Ministry approves restructuring of ED cadre

Recently,  the Union Finance Ministry  approved a major  cadre restructuring of  the Enforcement Directorate (ED)   , increasing its  sanctioned posts by nearly 60% from 2,029 to 3,256  . The legal cadre has been strengthened to support prosecution and advisory functions, while a new adjudication wing has been established with positions at various levels. This restructuring aims to strengthen the agency’s operational, legal, adjudication, ministerial, and security capabilities. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is a multidisciplinary financial investigation agency under the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India. It was originally established on   May  1  , 1956 , as an enforcement unit in the Department of Economic Affairs  , with the objective of  combating violations of foreign exchange control laws  under  the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1947.  It typically operates when proceeds of crime are suspected to be generated from a scheduled offense and are being laundered, layered, possessed, used, or presented as laundered money.

5 Defence Minister and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister inaugurated ‘Naval Shaurya Vatika’ in Lucknow

 

Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh  and  Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath   jointly inaugurated the  ‘Navy Shaurya Vatika’ in Lucknow on May 30, 2026.  Built at a cost of ₹19 crore on an area of ​​over two acres, this open-air museum is dedicated to the spirit, valour, and valour of  the Indian Navy  . It showcases artifacts and weapon systems from  INS Gomati  , which was decommissioned on May 29, 2022,   after 34 years of service  . The park displays the naval warship’s AK-726 gun, the ZIF-101 launcher for surface-to-air missiles, surface-to-surface and surface-to-air missiles, as well as INS Gomati’s radar, torpedo launcher, anchor, ship’s mast, and other artifacts. It also features a walk-through museum of the Tu-142M, a long-range maritime patrol aircraft that is no longer in service. Built in the second phase of the Naval Valour Museum, the park also offers several tourist amenities such as a restaurant, souvenir shop, and advanced lighting and sound system. INS Gomati is named after the vibrant Gomati River and was commissioned into Mazagon Dock Limited on April 16, 1988, by the then Defence Minister. The third ship in the Godavari-class guided missile frigates, INS Gomati was also the oldest warship in the Western Fleet when it was decommissioned.

6 Multilateral Exercise ‘Pragati 2026’ concluded at Umroi, Meghalaya

The first edition of the multilateral exercise “Pragati 2026,”   held at  Umroi Military Station in Meghalaya, concluded with a 72-hour trial exercise. It demonstrated the participating armed forces’ interoperability, mutual trust, and collective resolve to address common security challenges. Six Vice Chiefs of Staff and over 40 senior military officers from 13 friendly countries participated in the event. Lieutenant General Dheeraj Seth, Vice Chief of Army Staff, hosted dignitaries from all participating countries. Pragati stands for Partnership of Regional Armies for Growth and Transformation in the Indian Ocean Region . The exercise brought together over 400 soldiers from India, Bhutan, Cambodia, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Laos.

7 Eight lion cubs die in Gujarat due to suspected Babesia infection

 

Recently,  the Gujarat Forest Department  has  strengthened disease-control measures in   the Gir landscape and surrounding areas , following the deaths of eight lion cubs   due to  suspected Babesia infection in  the Gir, Somnath, and Amreli districts  . Babesiosis  is  a tick-  borne  parasitic disease   caused by  the Babesia parasite. It  infects red blood cells and  can affect both humans and animals  . It is caused by protozoan parasites of the genus Babesia. Significant species in humans include Babesio microti, Babesio divergens, Babesio duncani, and the MO-1 strain. In animals, various Babesio species can infect livestock, pets, and wildlife. The disease is primarily transmitted through the bite of an infected tick. In humans, it can also be transmitted through blood transfusions, but in animals, transmission by ticks is the main route.

8 A rare dragonfly in Arunachal Pradesh

A rare dragonfly, Gynacantha khasiaca  , or the Long-tailed Duskhawker ,  has been rediscovered in the Changlang district   of  Arunachal Pradesh after last being seen in   the then  Abor Hills  in 1914. Its new sighting  was recorded in  Namdapha National Park and Tiger Reserve  , located about 600 kilometers east of its previous location  . Dragonflies and damselflies belong to the order Odonata and are important components of freshwater ecosystems, serving as both predators and prey in aquatic food webs. The Long-tailed Duskhawker has two compound eyes, each containing thousands of tiny lenses and photoreceptor clusters, giving it acute vision. The Gynacantha genus includes large, light brown and green dragonflies that are active at dusk. It comprises 92 species globally, about 30 in South-East Asia and 10 in India. The global diversity of Odonata extends to 6,442 species in 693 genera. India is home to 504 species and 27 subspecies of Odonata spread across 152 genera and 18 families, while Arunachal Pradesh alone has 110 species.  Namdapha National Park is located near the India-Myanmar border in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh  . It is situated between the Dapha Bum Range and Patkai Range of the Mishmi Hills.

9 Pusa Conference prepares roadmap for agricultural revolution, emphasis on ‘Save Farm’ campaign

 

For the first time in the country’s history, the National Kharif Conference, held on May 28th and 29th at the Pusa campus in New Delhi, brought together agriculture ministers from 22 states on a single platform  .  The  two   day  conference  resolved  to  view agriculture not just as a matter of production, but as a national mission, linking it to soil, environment, farmer income, and future security. On the first day, senior officials from the state agriculture and horticulture departments discussed in detail the Kharif season’s preparations, including seeds, fertilizers, water management, and crop planning. On the second day, state agriculture ministers resolved to strengthen the Kharif strategy at the policy and implementation levels. The conference highlighted the “Save the Farm Campaign” as a key initiative, aimed not only at protecting agricultural land but also at safeguarding the environment and future generations. Emphasis was also placed on the balanced and scientific use of chemical fertilizers to maintain soil health.

10 Hindi Journalism Day

Some dates in history are not merely part of chronology; they bear witness to events that changed the course of civilization.  May 30, 1826,  is one such immortal date in the history of Indian journalism. On this day, the first Hindi newspaper, “Udant Martand,” was published from   Calcutta’s Kolu Tola neighborhood,   under the editorship of  Pandit Jugal Kishore Shukla  . This was not just the birth of a newspaper, but also the declaration of a renaissance of the Indian people’s linguistic consciousness, cultural identity, and national pride.
