The Meghalaya Enterprise Architecture (MeghEA) project was launched with an aim to improve governance and service delivery for the people of the state by harnessing the power of various digital technologies. Enterprise Architecture (EA) is the process by which different organizations standardize and organize their information technology related infrastructure to achieve different business objectives. This initiative of Meghalaya State Government is spread across 6 different pillars which are Human Resources, Governance, Priority Sector, Entrepreneurship, Environment and Infrastructure. Through this initiative, Meghalaya will be made a high income state by 2030.
4.Palli: India’s first ‘carbon-neutral panchayat’
Palli village in Samba district of Jammu is carbon neutral, India’s first panchayat to be completely solar powered and all its records have become digital which will help in getting all the benefits of the central schemes easily. Prime Minister Modi inaugurated a 500 kW solar plant in this carbon-neutral panchayat. With this inauguration the parish has become the first panchayat in the country to become carbon-neutral. A 500 kW solar plant was installed in the parish in a record time of three weeks. The parish has taken a major step towards Glasgow’s goal of making the country carbon-neutral. The parish will now be seen as a model panchayat, and will inspire Jammu and Kashmir and other panchayats in India to become carbon-neutral. A total of 6 in the parish, 1500 solar panels have been installed in an area of 408 square meters. These solar panels will provide clean electricity to 340 houses located in the panchayat. The electricity generated will be distributed by the local power grid station. The central government is emphasizing on key technological measures, modes of payment and e-Swaraj with the aim of making the country’s Panchayats more powerful. To take the panchayats to new heights, the government’s plan is to improve the panchayats. Panchayats are also being encouraged to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers.

The Economic Action Committee of the Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi , has given its approval for the construction of 540 MW Kwar Hydroelectric Project on Chenab River in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir at a cost of over Rs 45 billion . Chenab Valley Power Projects Private Limited will implement this project. It is a JV company between NHPC and JKSPDC. Nineteen thousand seven hundred and 50 lakh units of electricity will be generated from this project and it will be commissioned in about four and a half years.
