3 Hindustan Aeronautics Limited signs MoU with Russian public sector company United Aircraft Corporation for manufacturing SJ-100 civil aircraft in India

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Russia ‘s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) for the production of the SJ-100 civil commuter aircraft . The agreement was signed in Moscow by HAL’s Prabhat Ranjan and UAC’s Oleg Bogomolov , in the presence of HAL CMD D.K. Sunil and UAC Director General Vadim Badeka. The SJ-100 is a twin-engine narrow-body aircraft , with over 200 aircraft in operation with 16 airlines worldwide. HAL stated that this partnership will give a new direction to India’s regional aviation sector and promote short-haul connectivity under the UDAN scheme . The agreement grants HAL the rights to manufacture the aircraft. This is a historic step in India’s aviation history, as for the first time a complete passenger aircraft will be manufactured in the country. Previously, HAL manufactured the Avro HS748 aircraft between 1961 and 1988.
4 1000-year-old artefacts found during excavation near Villupuram village in Tamil Nadu

Archaeological discoveries near Kooteripattu in Villupuram district in Tamil Nadu have uncovered stone artefacts dating back nearly 1,000 years to the Chola period. Identified during a recent field survey by Villupuram historian Senguttuvan , the ancient artefacts were found in and around Alagramam village , already known for its historical significance. They include intricately carved statues of Vaishnavi deities, Kaumari, and a Buddhist figure , each believed to date back to around the 10th century AD. Experts say the discovery sheds new light on the region’s religious diversity and the artistic excellence that flourished during the Chola period.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has achieved another major milestone. This honor will be given to the metro corridor connecting Maujpur to Majlis Park in the category of ” Outstanding Prestressed Concrete Structure Award in the Country .” The award will be formally presented to the DMRC during the quinquennial conference, ACCON, to be held in Hyderabad in December. The Maujpur-Majlis Park corridor is a key part of the Delhi Metro’s Phase IV expansion. It is an extension of the existing Pink Line and, upon completion, will become the country’s first circular ring metro line.
