1 Yamuna water agreement between Haryana and Rajasthan
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the coordinated efforts of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, the much-awaited Yamuna Water Agreement was signed between Rajasthan and Haryana on Monday . The project, pending for nearly three decades, has now reached the decisive stage of implementation. This ambitious project, costing approximately Rs 34,102 crore, is considered an important milestone in the water history of Rajasthan. Under the Yamuna Water Project, Rajasthan’s share of 577 MCM Yamuna water will be transferred from Hathinikund Barrage in Haryana to Churu district through an underground pipeline of approximately 295.5 km. to the Hansiyawas Reservoir . The project has an estimated cost of ₹34,102 crore. The project will develop three underground pipelines of 3.6 meters in diameter, an inspection road, artificial reservoirs, and a modern water management system. Additionally, provision has been made to provide drinking water at 10 locations in Haryana, making the project beneficial for both states.
2 ‘e-Sushruta Clinic’ launched for small clinics, digital facility will be available for Rs 299 per month.
Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda on Monday launched a hospital management system called ‘ e-Sushruta Clinic ‘ for small clinics . . Developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), this digital platform aims to promote the digitization of healthcare services in small clinics by providing them with government-supported, affordable, and easy-to-use digital solutions. Most small OPD clinics in the country still rely on manual systems. Large hospital management systems are expensive and complex, preventing small clinics from adopting them. “e-Sushrut Clinic” will address this gap and facilitate the effective implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. It is a cloud-based, lightweight hospital management system developed specifically for small OPD clinics. It offers features such as patient registration, billing, MIS reporting, speech-to-text, clinical decision support systems, and Ayushman Bharat-related information retrieval. The base price of “e-Sushrut Clinic” is set at ₹499 per month (for five users). However, after receiving a subsidy of Rs 200 from the National Health Authority, its effective fee will be Rs 299 per month.
3 Jagat Prakash Nadda released new guidelines for ‘Anemia Free India Campaign’
Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda on Monday released new operational guidelines for the ” Anemia Mukt Bharat Abhiyan ” during the 16th meeting of the Central Council of Health and Family Welfare (CCHFW) held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi . This initiative will build on eight years of progress in the anemia elimination program in the country and implement a more comprehensive strategy based on screening, treatment, nutrition, public participation, and digital monitoring. With the new guidelines, ” Anemia Mukt Bharat ” has been renamed ” Anemia Mukt Bharat Abhiyan .” The program will no longer be limited to iron supplements but will also emphasize active community participation through screening, treatment, proper diet, and public awareness. The new framework expands the existing 6x6x6 strategy to a 7x7x7 framework . It includes low birth weight infants (0-6 months) as the seventh beneficiary group , to break the intergenerational cycle of anemia at an early stage. The campaign expands the earlier T3 strategy (Test, Treat, Talk) to a T4 strategy (Test, Treat, Talk, and Track) . This will ensure mass screening, treatment according to anemia management protocols, nutritional counseling, and continuous monitoring through referral and follow-up of beneficiaries. Under the revised guidelines, an integrated “Anemia Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Portal” has been developed for digital tracking of anemia-related services. Hemoglobin testing records for pregnant women will be recorded through the “Janani” portal, and records for children will be recorded through the RBSK and U-WIN portals. Jagat Prakash Nadda launched several digital initiatives for the health sector in New Delhi. These include the second phase of Arogya Setu , the Ayushman Sarathi chatbot , the Ayushman App , e-Sushruta Clinics , the National Health Claims Exchange , and health benchmarks to strengthen India’s digital public health infrastructure.
On June 29 , Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda released new rules for the National Ambulance Services (NAS) . Health Minister J.P. Nadda released the SUMAN (Safe Motherhood Assurance) Roadmap 2030 on June 29, 2026. This announcement was made at the 16th Central Council of Health and Family Welfare (CCHFW) conference. GIS-based mapping of accident-prone areas and hospitals will now be implemented to identify the nearest and most appropriate hospital. GPS tracking will be implemented in ambulances, enabling real-time monitoring of equipped ambulances. All ambulances will be mandated to comply with the government-prescribed AIS-125 (National Ambulance Code) standards . Ambulance services will be provided with a single emergency response number, 112, across the country. across the country . This aims to improve the quality and response time of ambulance services across the country. According to the new regulations, digital tracking and a centralized call center system will be made mandatory. The new regulations will ensure immediate patient access and fixed response times. According to the new rule, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will be implemented for ambulance services. After the new rule, ambulance personnel will be trained and security will be strengthened. Monitoring of services will be improved through digital technology and real-time tracking. Timely medical assistance will be provided in maternal and child health, accidents and other emergencies. Suman Roadmap 2030 was launched on May 29. Its main goal is to reduce maternal mortality rate (MMR) and neonatal mortality rate. Under Roadmap 2030, pregnant women will be provided free and quality health services.
5 India and Saudi Arabia sign MoU for cooperation in water resources
India and Saudi Arabia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in water resources during the Saudi Water Week held in Jeddah . The MoU was signed by Dr. Suhail Khan, Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia , and Abdul Rahman Abdul Mohsen Alfadhli, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture of Saudi Arabia. This MoU will further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries. The MoU aims to enhance bilateral cooperation in water resources planning, sustainable water management, irrigation systems, capacity building and exchange of technical expertise and best practices. Officials said that the agreement reflects the shared commitment of both countries to address the growing water challenges. Indian Consul General in Jeddah, Fahad Suri, was also present on the occasion.
Project Brahmank of Border Roads Organisation (BRO) celebrated its 16th Raising Day on 29 June 2026 at Ranaghat in Arunachal Pradesh . . The occasion marked the project’s 15 years of service in developing strategic infrastructure and connectivity in the Northeast region. Project Brahmank is responsible for the development and maintenance of strategic road infrastructure in Siang, East Siang, West Siang, Upper Siang, and Shi-Yomi districts of Arunachal Pradesh, as well as parts of Dhemaji district in Assam. The project has been entrusted with the development and maintenance of 811 kilometers of roads and approximately 86 bridges, ranging from small culverts to large steel and arch bridges. Major engineering achievements include the 100-meter-long steel arch bridge over the Siyom Nullah and the 165-meter-long PSC bridge over the Simang Nullah on the Along-Yingkiong road.
Five-time world chess champion Viswanathan Anand was awarded the Sports Journalists ‘ Federation of India (SJFI) Medal on June 24, 2026. It is one of the most prestigious honors received from peers in Indian sports. The ceremony was held at the famous Madras Cricket Club , organized in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Sports Journalists’ Association . Former Indian cricket captain and chief selector K. Srikkanth presented the medal to the 56-year-old Grandmaster. Anand currently serves as the Deputy President of FIDE (the global governing body of chess) . The SJFI is the highest honor given by the Sports Journalists’ Federation of India, established in 1976. Recipients receive a gold medal, a citation, and a memento. Anand, now the Deputy President of FIDE, joins the list of honorees who have received the medal, including Sunil Gavaskar, Vijay Amritraj, Prakash Padukone, P.T. Usha and Milkha Singh (posthumously).

The Government of India began celebrating this day in 2007 to highlight the crucial role of statistics in national policy formulation, economic planning, social development, and good governance . Professor Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis was born on June 29th, 1893 , in Kolkata . He is considered the father of modern statistics in India. He played a key role in the establishment of the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) and gave a new direction to statistical research in the country. The Mahalanobis Distance , developed by him, is still widely used in data analysis, machine learning, and scientific research worldwide. He also played a significant role in the formulation of India’s Second Five-Year Plan.
