1. IPS Subodh Kumar Jaiswal new director of CBI
Subodh Kumar Jaiswal , a 1985 batch IPS, has been appointed as the new director of the CBI . The decision was taken in a meeting of the High Level Committee chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi . The committee included Chief Justice of India NV Ramana and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury. He will hold this post for two years. Subodh Kumar Jaiswal has been the DGP and ATS Chief of Maharashtra. He is currently the director general of the CISF. 58-year-old Jaiswal will retire in 2022.
2. Hemant Biswa Sarma elected to BWF Council
Badminton Association of India (BAI) President Himanta Biswa Sarma was elected to the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Council for four years by 2025 . On May 22, 2021, Sarma was chosen from 31 contestants of the 20-member BWF Council in the BWF’s Virtual AGM and Council elections, where he received 236 votes. He is also the Vice President of Badminton Asia and the Chief Minister of Assam . The Badminton World Federation is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and the President of the Badminton World Federation is Paul-Eric Hoyer Larsen.
3. Rajesh Bansal becomes CEO of Reserve Bank Innovation Hub
Board of Reserve Bank Innovation Hub (RBIH) Rajesh Bansal from May 17, 2021(Rajesh Bansal) has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of RBIH, RBIH said in a statement. The Reserve Bank Innovation Hub will develop internal infrastructure to promote fintech research and facilitate engagement with innovators and start-ups. Bansal has over twenty-five years of experience designing technology-based population-scale payment products, electronic cash transfers, digital financial services and digital IDs to enable inclusive growth in India and many Asian and African markets. He first got technology in RBI, Has served in various capacities in the areas of financial inclusion and payment systems. He was a member of Aadhaar’s founding team where he was instrumental in designing India’s direct benefit transfer system and electronic KYC (EKYC). The statement said that he has been a member of various committees of RBI and Government of India.
4. Cheetah will be seen in India after 71 years

The first phase of India’s first mission mode e-governance project , MCA21 was launched on May 24, 2021 by Anurag Thakur, Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs . This version of MCA21 is powered by data analytics. MCA21 version 3.0 was highlighted during the budget 2021-2022. The project uses new technologies to streamline corporate compliance and stakeholders’ experiences. It will be implemented in two phases for which the second and third phase will be started in October 2021. The first phase of the project includes new email services, websites, eBooks and e-consultations for MCA officers.

The Ministry of Power has decided to set up a national mission to increase the use of biomass in coal-fired thermal power plants . This decision has been taken with the aim of reducing the air pollution from the crop residues and thermal power generation plants and reducing the carbon footprint. It will also help in changing the sources of power generation in the country and moving towards clean energy sources. The mission will increase the current level of biomass in thermal power plants by five percent. It will also work on removing the current bottlenecks associated with the supply chain of biomass elements to power plants, including crop residues.

The first batch of this season’s royal lychee from Bihar was exportedto Britain byairto boost the export of GI-certified products. Plant-hygiene certification for export of royal litchi was issued from the newly established certification facility at Patna. The fruit was sourced from farmers in Muzaffarpur in Bihar and Sira Enterprises is exporting it. The import of litchi is being done by London’s H&J Wedge.

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has Director in Senior Administrative Grade (SAG) at National Disaster Response Force Academy, Nagpur .Has approved the proposal of Ministry of Home Affairs for creation of one (01) post. With the creation of the post of Director in the NDRF Academy, the command and control of the organization will be entrusted to a senior and experienced officer, who can operate the institute according to the intended objectives. The academy will provide annual skill-based practical training to over 5000 personnel from NDRF, SDRF, CD volunteers, other stakeholders and disaster response agencies of SAARC and other countries. It will also analyze training programs according to the changing needs and needs of the stakeholders and improve them. This makes the NDRF, in particular, The level of training provided to SDRF personnel and other stakeholders on disaster response will be greatly improved. The National Disaster Response Force Academy was established in the year 2018 with the merger of National Civil Defense College (NCDC) in Nagpur. The main campus of the academy is under construction, till then it is functioning from the existing campus of NCDC. The academy currently provides training to National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) / State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) / Civil Defense Volunteers and other stakeholders and is conceived to grow into a premier training institution of international repute. It will also provide specialized training to disaster response personnel from SAARC and other countries. Till then it is functioning from the existing premises of NCDC. The academy currently provides training to National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) / State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) / Civil Defense Volunteers and other stakeholders and is conceived to grow into a premier training institution of international repute. It will also provide specialized training to disaster response personnel from SAARC and other countries. Till then it is functioning from the existing premises of NCDC. The academy currently provides training to National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) / State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) / Civil Defense Volunteers and other stakeholders and is conceived to grow into a premier training institution of international repute. It will also provide specialized training to disaster response personnel from SAARC and other countries.
13. Eight new species of snakes in Delhi
Eight more species have been included in the list of snakes in the national capital after a five-year comprehensive study conducted by researchers from the University of Delhi . Through this research, the list mentioned in the book titled ‘ Fauna of Delhi ‘ of 1997 has been updated, which is widely used to track the native species of Delhi. With this research, the number of snake species present in the capital is 23.Has reached. A total of 329 snakes in 23 species and nine families were recorded in this study. New snakes included in the list include – Common Bronzeback Tree Snake, Common Trinket Snake, Common Cat Snake, Barred Wolf Snake, Common Cookery, Streaked Cookery, Common Sandboa and Saw-Scaled Viper. Delhi is a very important site in terms of conservation of animals, as it contains the last parts of the ancient Aravalli mountains. In this context, Delhi provides an important opportunity for conservation of native flora, fauna and biodiversity among its densely populated urban area.
