Prime Minister  Narendra Modi  laid   the foundation stones of various national projects worth Rs 11,000 crore and dedicated some to the nation  at the Sarusajai Stadium   in  Guwahati , Assam . These include  the foundation stone of  a bridge connecting Palashbari and Suwalkuchi  over the Brahmaputra river  , the beautification project of Ranggar in Sivasagar, the inauguration of a 500 TPD menthol plant at Namrup and the dedication of five railway projects to the nation. The Prime Minister also watched a colorful Bihu program presented by over 10,000 Bihu dancers.

2. PM addresses Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Gauhati High Court at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati, Assam

The Prime Minister  , Shri Narendra Modi,  addressed   the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations  of  the Gauhati High Court  at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra,  Guwahati  ,  Assam . During the event, the Prime Minister launched ‘Assam Cop’, a mobile application designed by the Assam Police. The app will facilitate the tracking of accused and vehicles with the help of the database of Crime and Criminal Network Tracking System (CCTNS) and National Register of Vehicles. The Gauhati High Court was established  in 1948 and  functioned as a common court for the seven north-eastern states of Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh  till March 2013  . Year In 2013,  separate High Courts were created for Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura. The Gauhati High Court now has jurisdiction over the states of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh. It has its principal seat at Guwahati and three permanent benches at Kohima (Nagaland), Aizawl (Mizoram) and Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh).

3. Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister Shri Purushottam Rupala launched Animal Epidemic Preparedness Initiative and World Bank funded “Animal Health System Support for One Health”

Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying  Shri Purushottam Rupala  launched  Animal Epidemic Preparedness Initiative  and  World Bank  funded “ Animal Health System Support for One Health”launched, to boost India’s preparedness and response to potential animal pandemics in line with the One Health approach. The initiative aims to boost India’s preparedness and response to animal pandemics, with a focus on zoonotic diseases that pose a threat to both animal and human health. The initiative will aid in improving veterinary services and infrastructure, disease surveillance capabilities, early detection and response, capacity building among animal health professionals and awareness generation among farmers through community outreach. The event also saw the launch of the World Bank funded “Animal Health Systems Support for One Health (AHSSOH)”.

4. 12th Session of India-Spain Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation in New Delhi

Commerce Secretary  Mr. Sunil Barthwal  and Trade Secretary to the Government of Spain  Ms. Gianna Mendez  co-chaired the 12th session of the India-Spain Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation (JCEC)  on April 13, 2023   in  New Delhi . Both sides celebrated the golden jubilee year of the India-Spain Joint Commission Arrangement, which was established in 1972. During the last 50 years, there has been a significant increase in bilateral trade and investment. With an investment of $3.7 billion, 250 Spanish companies are operating in India, while 40 Indian companies are operating in Spain in various sectors such as IT, pharma, renewable energy, automobile, infrastructure.

5. GI tag for Cumbum grapes of Tamil Nadu

Recently  Tamil Nadu  ‘s famous  Cumbum Panneer Thrachai also known as  Cumbum grape ,  has been granted Geographical Indication (GI) tag .  The Cumbum Valley on the Western Ghats in Tamil Nadu  is known as the ‘ Grape City of South India’.‘ where Panneer Thrachai is cultivated. This variety, also known as Muscat Hamburg, is popular for its rapid growth and early maturity, and the crop is available almost year-round. Panneer grapes were first brought to Tamil Nadu by a French priest in the year 1832, they are rich in vitamins, tartaric acid and antioxidants, as well as reducing the risk of some chronic diseases. Apart from being purple brown in color, they are also known for their superior taste. GI is a sign used for products that have a specific geographical origin and possess properties or characteristics that are due to that geographical origin. Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration and Protection) Act, 1999 seeks to provide better protection and registration of Geographical Indications relating to goods in India. It is governed and guided by the WTO Agreement on TRIPS.

6. Bihu dance of Assam created two Guinness World Records

Assam  ‘s  Bihu dance  created   history by breaking two world records  with a performance of  11,304 dancers and musicians at  the Surasajai Stadium   in  Guwahati . Artistes attempt to create world records in two categories –  Largest Bihu dance performance  and  Largest performance by folk musicians, This marked a turning point for the traditional folk dance Bihu, which is popular throughout Assam and is especially performed during Bohag Bihu or Rongali Bihu (the spring festival that marks the beginning of the Assamese New Year in mid-April). The President of India has extended greetings on the occasion of various traditional New Year festivals celebrated across India including Vaisakhi, Vishu (Kerala and other neighboring regions), Naba Barsha (West Bengal), Puthandu-pirappu (Tamil Nadu) and Vaishakhadi. Celebrated during the spring season, these festivals mark the beginning of the new year in India according to different regional calendars. Vaisakhi is celebrated by Hindus and Sikhs and marks the formation of the Khalsa sect of warriors under the leadership of Guru Gobind Singh. These festivals bring together people of different castes and religions from all over India and celebrate the country’s rich cultural diversity.

7. India’s first semi-high speed regional rail service named ‘RapidX’

India’s first ‘ semi high speed regional ‘ rail service  has been named  ‘ RAPIDX ‘ by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) . These trains will run on Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridors, which are being constructed to connect important urban centers of the National Capital Region (NCR). The name ‘Rapidex’ has been chosen because it is simple to read and pronounce in different languages. It may be noted that the RapidX service on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTC corridor will significantly reduce the travel time between Delhi and Meerut. The 17-km Sahibabad-Duhai section of the corridor is expected to have train operations in 2023, while the NCRTC aims to open the entire Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor to the public by 2025.

8. Solar Energy Corporation of India got ‘Miniratna Category-1’ status

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy  has granted Miniratna Category-I Central Enterprise (CPSE) status  to   state-owned  Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) . SECI, which  was established on  9th September 2011 , is the principal implementing agency for renewable energy schemes/projects to meet the global commitments of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. SECI has played a significant role in accelerated growth of energy generation capacity in the country and has contributed towards the nation’s climate commitments, decarbonization strategies and sustainable energy transition. Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited   is headquartered in New Delhi .

9. Ghana approves Oxford’s malaria vaccine R21

Ghana  has   approved  a new malaria vaccine from the University of  Oxford  ,  becoming the first country in the world to do so.  This vaccine, known as  R21 , is available domestically to  children aged 5-36 months. It is approved for those at highest risk of death from malaria. It is unclear when the vaccine will be rolled out in Ghana as other regulatory bodies including the World Health Organization (WHO) are assessing its safety and effectiveness. The vaccine is the second malaria vaccine to be approved for use and the first major vaccine to be approved in an African country outside of rich countries. Serum Institute of India has tied up with Oxford to produce up to 200 million doses of the vaccine annually. The WHO states that there has been a 10 percent drop in child mortality from all causes in areas where the Mosquirix vaccine has been given.

10. Demand for Scheduled Tribe status by Kurmi community

Recently,  the Kurmi community  started   a movement in Bengal  demanding inclusion in  the Scheduled Tribes (ST) list  from  the Other Backward Classes (OBC) . They also want that their  Kurmali language should be included in the Eighth Schedule  of the Constitution.  be included in The Kurmis were not included in the communities classified as Scheduled Tribes in the 1931 census and were dropped from the list of Scheduled Tribes in 1950. In 2004 the Government of Jharkhand recommended that the community be added to the list of Scheduled Tribes instead of being classified as an Other Backward Class. Following the recommendation, the matter went to the Tribal Research Institute (TRI), which held that the Kurmis were a sub-caste of the Kunbis and not a tribe. On the basis of this, the Center rejected the demand of Kurmi community to be considered as a Scheduled Tribe. The Kurmis are a landowning farming community whose status varies from place to place. Kurmi is considered a “progressive farmer” who takes maximum advantage of all the development schemes available in the area. Kurmis are found in many states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand,

11. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy India’s Richest Chief Minister: ADR Report

According to a report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR),  29  chief ministers of  28 states and two union territories in India   are crorepatis . Andhra Pradesh’s  Jagan Mohan Reddy is  the richest  with assets of ₹510 crore  , while  West Bengal  Chief Minister  Mamata Banerjee  has  the least assets of ₹15 lakh. Is. The report also states that Jammu and Kashmir, which is a union territory, currently does not have a chief minister. ADR said that 29 (97 per cent) of the 30 chief ministers analyzed are crorepatis, with an average net worth of Rs 33.96 crore for each chief minister. The top three chief ministers in terms of assets are Jagan Mohan Reddy of Andhra Pradesh (more than ₹510 crore), Pema Khandu of Arunachal Pradesh (more than ₹163 crore) and Naveen Patnaik of Odisha (more than ₹63 crore). The three chief ministers with the least declared assets are West Bengal’s Mamata Banerjee (more than Rs 15 lakh), Kerala’s Pinarayi Vijayan (more than Rs 1 crore) and Haryana’s Manohar Lal (more than Rs 1 crore), the ADR said.

12. It is necessary to take policy decisions at the global level regarding crypto assets – Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman

Finance Minister  Nirmala Sitharaman  has said that it   is necessary to take policy decisions at the global level of  crypto assets as it can affect both emerging and developed economies.  He said this while briefing the media at the conclusion of the second meeting of G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors  under  India’s G20 Presidency  in  Washington DC . The meeting was held on the 12th and 13th of this month on the sidelines of the 2023 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group.

13. Telangana government announces an award in the name of Baba Saheb Dr. BR Ambedkar on his birth anniversary

The Telangana government  has   announced  an award in the name of Babasaheb Dr. BR Ambedkar  on his birth anniversary  . Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao unveiled a 125 feet tall bronze statue of Dr. Ambedkar  on the banks of   the historic  Hussain Sagar Lake.  After unveiling, announced it in a public meeting. Prakash Ambedkar, former Member of Parliament and grandson of Babasaheb Ambedkar was also with the Chief Minister on this occasion. The Chief Minister said that a fund of Rs 51 crore has been created for the award and every year on his birth anniversary, an award of Rs 3 crore will be given to a person who has contributed in the field of Dalit welfare. The Chief Minister said that fifty thousand Dalit families have been benefited so far in the State under the Dalit Bandhu Program and in the current year more than one lakh families would be benefited from it.

14. Japan, India and France announce a common platform for bilateral creditors’ dialogue to coordinate Sri Lanka’s debt

Japan, India and France  set up  a common platform for dialogue between bilateral creditors to coordinate debt restructuring of Sri Lanka has announced. This will help in solving the debt crisis of middle income economies. Japan’s Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki said it was historic to start the negotiation process with such a broad-based group of creditors. He said that this committee is open to all the lenders. French Treasury Director General Emmanuel Molin said the group was ready to hold the first round of talks as soon as possible. Sri Lanka last month took a two billion dollar loan from the International Monetary Fund to deal with the huge debt burden. Only low-income countries can apply for debt relief under the G-20’s general framework. Countries with middle income economies cannot take advantage of this system. Sri Lanka owes seven billion dollars in debt to bilateral creditors. This includes $3 billion from China, $2.4 billion from the Paris Club and $1.6 billion from India.

15. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar inaugurates Buji Setu built with Indian collaboration in Mozambique

External Affairs Minister  Dr. S. Jaishankar  began   his program  in  Maputo, Mozambique by meeting with the Speaker of the Assembly, Esperanca Bias . They discussed the historic cooperation between the two countries and reiterated India’s support for the sustainable development of Mozambique. The talks focused on counter terrorism, dealing with disasters and green development. Dr. Jaishankar   also inaugurated the Buji Setu through virtual medium. The bridge is part of the 132 kilometer long Tika Buji-Nova-Sofala road project. He said that this bridge is an example of solidarity and friendship between India and Mozambique.

Qatar and Bahrain  have announced that   they will restore their diplomatic ties two years after the  Arab boycott of Qatar ended. In January 2021  , Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt  ended a three-and-a-half-year embargo on Qatar, but all countries except Bahrain have already restored trade links and travel with Qatar in 2021. The decision to restore diplomatic relations was taken at the second meeting of the Bahrain-Qatar Implementation Committee held at the Gulf Cooperation Council General Secretariat in the Saudi capital. Alula announcement on 5 January 2021  was signed. The agreement marked the conclusion of the Gulf Cooperation Council summit held in AlUla, Saudi Arabia. Due to this agreement the dispute with Qatar ended. The agreement called for strengthening the ties and bringing unity among the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council. The declaration also reaffirmed the commitment of the Gulf Cooperation Council member states to bring coordination and integration in all areas to form a federation of states. Earlier this month, the UAE and Qatar held their fourth joint meeting in Abu Dhabi on the implementation of the AlUla Declaration.

17. National Highways Authority of India signs MoU to facilitate vehicular access to Nagarjuna Sagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve

The National Highways Authority of India  has   signed an MoU to provide seamless access to vehicles coming to the Nagarjuna Sagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve  spread over  Andhra Pradesh and Telangana forest areas . The Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways informed that the objective is to provide FASTag based payment system at the entry points of the tiger reserves. With this system, the audience will get rid of long lines and delays. This partnership between the Indian Highways Management Company Limited and the Forest Department is an important step towards promoting sustainable tourism and protecting natural resources by preventing vehicular pollution at forest entry points.

18. The Union Minister for Culture and Tourism and the Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment jointly flagged off the Bharat Gaurav tourist train on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti.

The train will visit places associated with Dr. Ambedkar’s life and Buddha’s legacy, such as New Delhi, Mhow, Nagpur, Sanchi, Varanasi, Sarnath, Gaya, Rajgir and Nalanda. A total of six hundred tourists will be able to travel in this Bharat Gaurav tourist train with ten air-conditioned coaches.

20. SEBI celebrates its 35th foundation day, new logo released

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI)  released a new logo  on the occasion of   its  35th Foundation Day . During this, former chairman of SEBI as well as former and present whole-time members were also present. SEBI said in the statement that the regulatory body continues to believe in and adhere to its rich tradition of partnership and consultation with the industry. SEBI   was established in April, 1988 . SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) is a regulatory body for the securities and commodities markets in India. It was established  on 12 April 1988  and is owned by the Ministry of Finance. SEBI was given more power and authority in 1992 with the SEBI Act after the Harshad Mehta scam.

21. Greek-Indian Air Force to hold large-scale joint exercise

The Greek and Indian air forces will cooperate on a ten-day joint training exercise with Su-30, F-16, and Rafale fighter jets in Greece and the Mediterranean Sea. The exercise will be conducted as part of the annual Greek exercise Iniokos 23, led by the Hellenic Air Development Center of the Hellenic Air Force and the Ministry of Defence. The training is scheduled to begin on April 18 and end on April 28.

22. WHO: China records first death from H3N8 bird flu

First death  due to  H3N8 bird flu has been  recorded in the world. A Chinese woman  has become the first person to die from a type of bird flu, which is rare in humans, the World Health Organization (WHO)  said  . But this strain does not seem to be spreading among people. Bird flu is common in China, with sporadic infections among people, as avian flu viruses continue to circulate in large numbers of poultry and wild bird populations. H3N8 is a subtype of influenza A virus. It primarily affects birds, particularly wild waterfowl and shorebirds. It is not commonly found in humans, but rare cases of human infection have been reported.

23. Freedom House Index: Tibet is the least free country in the world

A recent report has been released by the press that   according to the 2023 Freedom in the World Index  published by  the international investigator Freedom House , Tibet  is  the country with the least freedom in the world . The report titled ” Freedom in the World 2023 Report ” was released by Freedom House on 9 March and identified Tibet, South Sudan and Syria as the “most unfree countries”. This is the third year in a row that Tibet has been placed at the bottom of the list in the surveys conducted by Freedom House. The report suggests that residents of Tibet are denied both Chinese and Tibetan basic rights and that the Chinese government is unjust in suppressing any sign of dissent among Tibetans.

24. Aman Sehrawat wins India’s first gold medal at the Asian Wrestling Championships in Astana

In wrestling  , freestyle wrestler  Aman Sehrawat  won  the first gold medal  for India  at the Asian Wrestling Championships 2023  in  Astana, Kazakhstan. Won. Aman Sehrawat, who became the first Indian wrestler to win gold at the Under-23 World Championships in Spain last year, clinched the gold in the men’s 57kg freestyle category on the final day of the competition. Aman Sehrawat defeated Japan’s Rikuto Arai 7-1 in the quarterfinals. In the semi final bout, Aman Sehrawat defeated Zhou Wanhao of China by a score of 7-4. In the final, Aman Sehrawat defeated last year’s bronze medalist Almaz Smanbekov of Kyrgyzstan 9-4. Among other Indian wrestlers, Deepak won a bronze medal in the 79 kg category. With the two freestyle medals, India’s tally in the competition went up to 13. Greco-Roman wrestlers won four medals while women wrestlers won seven.

Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was born  on April 14, 1891  , he was the 14th and last child of his parents. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s father   was Subedar Ramji Maloji Sakpal . He   was a Subedar in the British Army . Babasaheb’s father  was a follower of Saint Kabir Das  and was an educated person. On August 15, 1936, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar formed the ” Independent Labor Party ” to protect the interests of the depressed classes.formed, consisting mostly of working class people. In 1938, the Congress introduced a bill to change the name of the untouchables. Dr. Ambedkar criticized it. He was of the view that changing the name could not solve the problem. In 1942, he was appointed as a Labor member in the Executive Council of the Governor General of India. In 1946, he was elected to the Constituent Assembly from Bengal. At the same time he published his book, ” Who were the Shudras “? After independence,  in 1947 , he was  appointed as the Minister of Law and Justice   in the first cabinet  of the country’s first Prime Minister Shri Jawaharlal Nehru.Appointed as. But in 1951, he resigned from the ministerial post, expressing his differences over Prime Minister Nehru’s policy towards the Kashmir issue, India’s foreign policy and the Hindu Code Bill. In 1952,  Columbia University  awarded him the degree of LLD  in recognition  of his contribution in drafting the Constitution  of India  . In 1955, he published his book entitled “Reflections on Linguistic States”. Dr. BR Ambedkar   was awarded the doctorate degree  by  Osmania University  on  January 12, 1953 . Finally after 21 years, he proved true what he had said in Yeola in 1935 that ” I will not die as a Hindu “. On 14 October 1956 , he converted to Buddhism  in a historic ceremony at Nagpur   and died on 06 December 1956. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was honored with the title of ” Bodhisattva ” by Buddhist monks at the ” Jagatik Buddhism Council ”  in Kathmandu, Nepal  in 1954 . The important thing is that Dr. Ambedkar was awarded the title of Bodhisattva while he was alive.
