1 Center launches ‘Bharat’ flour at MRP Rs 27.50 per kg

Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Textiles and Commerce & Industry,  Shri Piyush Goyal  flagged  off 100 mobile vans   for  sale of wheat flour under   ‘ Bharat ‘ brand from Duty Path, New Delhi . Flour   will be available at MRP of Rs 27.50 per kg . This is the latest in a series of steps taken by the Government of India for the welfare of common consumers. Retail sale of ‘Bharat’ brand flour will increase supply in the market at affordable rates and help in sustained reduction in prices of this important food item. ‘Bharat’ Atta   will be available at all physical and mobile outlets of  Kendriya Bhandar, NAFED and NCCF and will be expanded to other cooperative/retail outlets. Bharat Dal (Chana Dal)  is already being sold by these 3 agencies from their physical and/or retail outlets at the rate of Rs 60 per kg for 1 kg pack and Rs 55 per kg for 30 kg pack.

3 Prime Minister Narendra Modi becomes Chairman of Shri Somnath Trust, tenure of five years

Prime Minister  Narendra Modi  to  appoint Shree Somnath Trust (SST)   for  a five-year tenure been elected as the chairman of theThe decision, approved by the Charity Commissioner of Gujarat, underlines the importance of continuity and leadership in the management of the iconic Somnath temple near Veraval. The recent approval of the amendment in the deed of Shri Somnath Trust by the Charity Commissioner of Gujarat has paved the way for this landmark decision. Before this amendment, the Chairman of the Trust served a tenure of one year.

4 India to host World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly next year

India   is set to host   the prestigious  World Telecommunications Standardization Assembly (WTSA) in 2024 ,  an important step towards the progress of 5G and 6G networks . Union Communications and IT Minister  Ashwini Vaishnav made this announcement at the India Mobile Congress 2023,   emphasizing the country’s growing importance in the global technology landscape. The World Telecommunications Standardization Assembly (WTSA) is a quadrennial event and serves as the governing conference of the ITU Standardization Sector (ITU-T). It is one of three world conferences organized by the International Telecommunication Union, a unit of the United Nations system. The event plays an important role in setting global telecommunication standards, making India’s hosting of WTSA a significant milestone.

5 EESL launches ‘National Skilled Cooking Programme’ to transform cooking practices in India

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL)  , a Joint Venture of Public Sector Undertakings under the  Ministry of Power , launched  its ground-breaking  National Efficient Cooking Program (NECP)  and  Energy Efficient Fan Program (EEFP)  . The program was unveiled by the Union Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy and Industries,  Shri R.K. Singh  did it.  As part of these programmes, Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) will distribute 1 crore efficient BLDC fans  and  20 lakh energy-efficient induction cook stoves across the country. The National Energy Efficient Cooking Program (NECP) has introduced induction-based cook-stoves, which offer a cost advantage of 25 to 30 percent compared to conventional cooking methods. This stove offers the assurance of both energy savings and cost-effective cooking solutions.

6 APEDA signs MoU with Lulu Hypermarket to promote exports of Indian agricultural products

 To promote the export of agricultural products  to  the Gulf Cooperation Countries (GCC), the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Ministry  of   Commerce, Government of India, has  signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lulu Hypermarket LLC, a  global retail market leader.  ) is signed. Shri Abhishek Dev, Chairman, APEDA and Shri Yusuf Ali MA,  Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Lulu Group   on November 3, 2023 at the  World India Food (WIF) 2023  held in  New Delhi. This MoU was signed betweenThe objective of this MoU is to promote Brand India at the global level. With this MoU, APEDA will promote Indian agricultural products including millets across the GCC as Lulu Group International (LLC) has a presence with 247 Lulu stores and 24 shopping malls across the GCC, Egypt, India and Far East . Lulu Group is the fastest growing retail chain in the Middle East and Asia.

7 The first automated artificial intelligence-powered solution for agricultural information monitoring and analysis, Agri 24/7

Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (DA&FW)  in   collaboration with  Wadhwani Institute for Artificial Intelligence (Wadhwani AI)  has developed  Krishi 24/7 platform, the first Google.org  powered  automated AI for agriculture information monitoring and analysis. Intelligence-driven solution  . Krishi 24/7 will assist the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare in promoting sustainable agricultural growth through identifying relevant information, timely alerting and taking prompt action aimed at protecting the interests of farmers and making better decisions. The implementation of Krishi 24/7 meets the need for an efficient mechanism to identify and manage agriculture news articles of agriculture related interest for the purpose of assisting in taking appropriate decisions at the right time. The platform scans news articles in multiple languages ​​and translates them into English. Krishi 24/7 extracts essential information from news articles. These include title, crop name, program type, date, location, seriousness, summary and source basis. Krishi 24/7 ensures that the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare receives timely information on relevant events published on the web.

8 Information Commissioner Hiralal Samaria took oath as Chief Information Commissioner

Information Commissioner  Hiralal Samaria  took   oath as Chief Information Commissioner . President  Draupadi Murmu  administered him the oath of office at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Shri Samaria was currently holding the charge of Information Commissioner in the Central Information Commission. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar , Prime Minister  Narendra Modi  and Minister of State for Personnel  Dr. Jitendra Singh were present on this occasion   , later Chief Information Commissioner Hiralal Samaria   also administered the oath of office to Information Commissioners Anandi Ramalingam  and  Vinod Kumar Tiwari in the swearing-in ceremony held at the Central Information Commission. Took oath.

9 Jal Diwali – “Water for Women, Women for Water Campaign” launched

Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs is all set to launch a progressive initiative “ Water for Women, Women for Water Campaign ”  under  its flagship scheme –  Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT).  The National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM)  of the Ministry is also participating  in this scheme . Odisha Urban Academy is  its ‘ knowledge partner ‘. The celebration of this “ Jal Diwali ” campaign  will start from November 7, 2023 and continue till November 9, 2023. The campaign aims to provide a platform to involve women in water governance systems. They will be provided with first-hand information about water treatment processes through visits to Water Treatment Plants (WTP)  in their respective cities  .

10 Chile becomes 95th member of International Solar Alliance

ChileInternational Solar Alliance-ISA  Has become  the 95th member  of . ISA during the meeting of Chilean Ambassador Juan Angulo  with  Abhishek Singh,  Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, in New Delhi. Submitted supporting documents. Co-founded by India and France  in  2015  , the International Solar Alliance (ISA) is an active and member-driven and collaborative platform to increase the delivery of solar energy technologies. Its basic objective is to facilitate access to energy, ensure energy security and promote energy transition in its member countries. International Solar Alliance is the nodal agency for implementing ‘One Sun, One World, One Grid’ (OSOWOG), which aims to integrate solar energy generated in a specific region with the electricity demand of another region. Have to move to complete. Its headquarters   is in Gurugram (Haryana) .

11 Unveiling ceremony of Project 15B warship “Surat” of the Indian Navy

Indian Navy  ‘s latest, indigenous, guided missile destroyer, ‘ Surat ‘ was unveiled  by  the Chief Minister of  Gujarat , Shri Bhupendra Patel  at a ceremony held at Surat on 06 November 2023. Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar  also attended the ceremony  . It is noteworthy that Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh launched it on March 17, 2022 in Mumbai. Among the latest advance warship projects under construction, ‘ Project 15B ‘  is the construction of the fourth next generation stealth guided missile destroyer of this programme  , of which ‘Surat’ is the fourth and final ship. The warship is currently  under construction at Mazagon Docks Shipbuilders Limited, Mumbai  . The construction of this warship is dedicated to the nation’s pursuit of indigenous state-of-the-art warship building technology and strategic military advancements. At the time of independence, the country’s navy was small but at present the Indian Navy has become a very capable, war-ready, united, reliable and capable force for the future. It is well known that the city of Surat has been the most important maritime trading center for India and many other countries from the 16th to the 18th century. The city of Surat has also been a prosperous center for shipbuilding and during this period it has also been famous for the ships built here as many of the ships built here have served for more than 100 years.

12 Defense Minister approves provision of maternity, child care and child adoption leaves for women soldiers, sailors and airmen at par with their officer counterparts

Defense Minister  Shri Rajnath Singh  approved the proposal to extend the norms of maternity, child care and child adoption leave  for  women soldiers, sailors and airmen  in the armed forces  at par with their officer counterparts. With the issuance of this rule, granting of such leaves will be equally applicable to all women in the Army, whether officers or any other rank. This decision is in line with the Defense Minister’s vision of inclusive participation of all women in the armed forces, irrespective of their rank. The expansion of leave rules will greatly assist in addressing women-specific family and social issues related to the armed forces. This work will improve the working conditions of women in the Army and help them better balance the spheres of professional and family life.

13 NMDC expands its mineral range with inauguration of Mount Celia Gold Operation; Became the first gold mine in its extensive range

Shri Nagendra Nath Sinha , Secretary, Ministry of Steel    unveiled a foundation stone laying ceremony for mining operations at Mount Celia Gold Project  located in  Western Australia . Legacy Iron Ore Limited ,  a subsidiary of  NMDC Limited , the country’s state-owned steel CPSE,   has undertaken this initiative with great effort and reflects NMDC’s continued dedication and commitment in diversifying its mineral assets. The establishment of the first gold mine in the wider range of NMDC gives it distinct significance and is a remarkable achievement for the organisation. The first ore for processing at the Paddington gold mine  is scheduled in CYQ1, 2024 and is set to be a significant contributor to India’s gold production perspective.

14 Visakhapatnam: Around 12 thousand people participated in the Vizag Navy Marathon organized by the Eastern Naval Command.

 Nearly 12 thousand people enthusiastically participated in the 8th Vizag Navy Marathon  organized by  the Eastern Naval Command  at  Visakhapatnam . A large number of children, youth, senior citizens and naval personnel from all over India and abroad participated in the marathon in various categories.  The marathon was flagged off by Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar , Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command  .

15 5th phase of back-to-village program starts from today in Jammu and Kashmir

The 5th phase   of  the much publicized back-to-village program – B-2-V is starting  in  Jammu and Kashmir . The program   will be held till November 16 , during which officials will visit the panchayats and stay there for a fixed period to interact with the people and take their feedback. The B-2-V program aims to fulfill the mission of equitable development in rural areas.

16 Training started in Master Trainers and Assessors Program under PM Vishwakarma Scheme

 Ministry  of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship started training in Master Trainers and Assessors Program  under  PM Vishwakarma Yojana  . The objective of this scheme   is to empower artisans and craftsmen . Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship   said that as torchbearers of knowledge and innovation, master training will play an important role in shaping the future of the country. According to the ministry, this five-day training program is being organized at the National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development till Friday.

17 Global declaration for  river dolphins

Recently  11 Asian and South American countries   signed a historic agreement in Bogota, Colombia to save  the world’s  six surviving species of river dolphins from extinction. With river dolphin numbers having declined by a staggering 73% since the 1980s, this historic agreement provides a ray of hope in the fight against this dire situation. The Global Declaration on River Dolphins aims to halt the decline of all river dolphin species and strengthen the most vulnerable populations through concerted efforts. The declaration helps outline measures such as eliminating gillnets, reducing pollution, expanding research initiatives, and creating protected areas to protect river dolphin species. Countries that have adopted this declaration include: Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Cambodia, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Peru and Venezuela. Indonesia also has a representative of the regional government who has responsibility for the Mahakam River.

18 India’s first international cruise liner gets green signal

Recently  the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways  flagged   off the maiden voyage of  India’s first  international cruise liner, the ship Costa Serena, from Mumbai . This initiative is in line with the “ Dekho Apna Desh ” campaign, which emphasizes the government’s concept of promoting tourism. The development of cruise and lighthouse tourism  is part of the Sagarmala project  , which aims to establish India as a major cruise hub in the Asia-Pacific region by 2030. It aims to increase the annual number of cruise passengers in India from the current 4.72 lakh to 18 lakh by the year 2030. India plans to have 25 operational cruise terminals by 2047, with an estimated annual passenger capacity of 5 million.

19 ATL Marathon 2023-24

Applications have been invited for the national level innovation challenge ‘ Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) Marathon 2023-24 ‘  organized in collaboration with the Ministry of EducationYuWaah  and  UNICEF under the  Atal Innovation Mission (AIM)   of  NITI Aayog . The theme of ATL Marathon for the year 2023-24 is based on “ 75th Republic Day of India (26 January, 2024) ”. Teams of students can create projects on topics covered in this theme related to space, agriculture, inclusivity, disaster management, mobility, health, education and skill development. Students from across India can participate in this and develop innovative solutions to community problems. Its objective is to create an ecosystem of innovation in schools and to make students aware of innovation.

20 Chess: R Vaishali wins FIDE Grand Swiss Women and Vidit Gujarati Open titles in Britain

In chess  , India’s  R Vaishali  has   won the FIDE Women’s Grand Swiss 2023 . They   drew with Batkhuyag Munguntul of Mongolia in the last round game in  the Isle  of  Man,  Britain . Vaishali   has become the first Indian to win the Grand Swiss . On the other hand,  Vidit Gujarati  also  registered his seventh win  in this event by defeating  Serbia’s Aleksandar Predke and secured the top position in the open section . Both these players   have also qualified for the Candidates Tournament to be held in Canada in April next year. Both Vaishali and Vidit had 8.5 points in the competition and were half a point ahead of their nearest rivals.

21 5 November: World Tsunami Awareness Day

 World Tsunami Day is celebrated  by the United Nations every year on  5 November  . The United Nations  designated   the day in 2015 . The day   will promote goal (D) of the Sendai Seven Campaign which focuses on reducing disaster damage to critical infrastructure and minimizing disruption to basic services . Three weeks after the devastating Indian Ocean tsunami of December 2004, the international community came together in Kobe, Japan and adopted the 10-year Hyogo Framework for Action. It was the first comprehensive global agreement on disaster risk reduction.
