1.Railways to launch themed Bharat Gaurav trains

Recently, Indian Railways has announced a new scheme ‘ Bharat Gaurav ‘ to tap the vast tourism potential . Under the scheme, now there will be a third section for tourism in trains . Till now the railways had a passenger section and a goods section . These are not regular trains which will run according to a timetable but will be operated on the lines of Ramayana Express run by IRCTC . This was announced under the theme based tourist circuit trains . These trains will be run by private partners and IRCTC in theme based circuits.will be run by both. By Theme Based Tourism (Circuit) Railways means those trains like Guru Kripa which are operated to all the places related to Guru Nanak or Ramayana themed trains are operated to the places related to Lord Rama. One can apply to societies, trusts, consortia and even state governments to take these trains and operate them on theme based special tourist circuits. The service provider will provide all inclusive package to the tourists including rail travel, hotel/resting place, sightseeing arrangement, historical/heritage sightseeing, tour guide etc.

2.’CSIR Jigyaasa’ program

India’s first virtual science laboratory for children has been started under the ‘ CSIR Jigyaasa ‘ program connecting scientists from across the country with students . This virtual laboratory is a new beginning, which is in line with the ‘New National Education Policy’ of the country and will help students in every part of the country to do innovative experiments in science. Students of Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas and Government Schools will be greatly benefited by this new facility. ‘ Scientific and Technical Research Council of the platform by’ (CSIR) ‘CSIR curiosity under the’ Program ‘ IIT Bombay‘, which facilitates classroom learning along with laboratory research for school students. The main objective of this virtual lab is to help school students to conduct quality research through an online interactive medium with scientific experiments, pedagogy based content, videos, chat forums, animations, gaming, quizzes. Initially this content will be available only in English, but soon it will be made available in Hindi and other regional languages ​​as well. This virtual platform will provide a virtual tour of the CSIR laboratories and expose the students to the research infrastructure, which would otherwise be relatively difficult given the safety standards.

3.NITI Aayog launches SDG Urban Index 2021-22

NITI Aayog launched “ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Urban Index and Dashboard 2021-22 ”. Shimla tops the list of cities with the highest score in this index . Coimbatore and Chandigarhplaced in second and third place. Thiruvananthapuram, Panaji, Pune, Kochi, Tiruchirappalli, Ahmedabad and Nagpur are among the top 10 cities in the index. SDG Urban Index and Dashboard (2021-22) was launched by NITI Aayog on November 23, 2021. It ranks 56 urban areas on 77 SDG indicators in goals such as zero hunger, ending poverty, quality education, good health, gender equality. Of the total 56 urban areas included in the index, 44 have a population of more than one million. The top ten urban areas in the index are: Shimla, Coimbatore, Chandigarh, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Panaji, Pune, Tiruchirappalli, Ahmedabad and Nagpur. The bottom ten urban areas in the index are: Faridabad, Kolkata, Agra, Kohima, Jodhpur, Patna, Guwahati, Itanagar, Meerut and Dhanbad.

4.Sagar Shakti exercise held in Kutch peninsula

The Sagar Shakti exercise was conducted from November 19 to 22, 2021 in the Creek sector of the Kutch Peninsula . It was a four day mega military exercise. During the exercise, India’s capability and readiness to face any multi-faceted security threat was tested in detail. Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, Gujarat Police, Border Security Force and Marine Police in this exerciseparticipation was observed. The Indian Army’s Southern Command conducted the exercise with an aim to test the combat readiness of the agencies in real time. The exercise also includes deployment of troops and complex maneuvers to simultaneously deal with any potential security challenges in land, water and airspace. The exercise was conducted at a time when India has enhanced its maritime warfare capability in the light of evolving security scenarios in the Indian Ocean region.

5.President Kovind presented Vir Chakra, Kirti Chakra and Shaurya Chakra

Vir Chakra: In February 2019, Group Captain Abhinandan Varthaman was awarded the Vir Chakra (wartime gallantry award) by President Ram Nath Kovind for his role in pushing back Pakistan’s fighter jets . Abhinandan Varthaman was then the Wing Commander. In the ensuing aerial combat, he shot down a Pakistani F-16 fighter plane on February 27, 2019.
Shaurya Chakra: Major Vibhuti Shankar Dhoundiyal was awarded the Shaurya Chakra (posthumously) for his role in an operation where five terrorists were gunned down and 200 kg of explosive material was recovered. His wife Lt. Nitika KaulAnd mother received the prize. Naib Subedar Sombir was awarded the Shaurya Chakra posthumously for killing an A++ category terrorist during an operation in Jammu and Kashmir . His wife Suman Devi and mother Rajendra Devi received the honour. The President also awarded the Shaurya Chakra to Major Maheshkumar Bhure , an alumnus of Sainik School Satara. According to the citation, Major Bhure led an operation in which six top terrorist commanders were killed.

7.Goldman Sachs forecasts India’s GDP to be 9.1% in FY22

Wall Street brokerage, Goldman Sachs , in its recent Macro Outlook 2022 note, has revised its forecast for gross domestic product (GDP) to 9.1 per cent , up from the earlier calendar year 2022 estimate of 8 per cent. For 2021-22 (FY22) , it projected economic growth at 8.5 per cent . Goldman Sachs expects core inflation to rise as producers increase input costs to consumers. As a result, global research and brokerage houses have placed headline consumer price inflation in India at 5.8 per cent year-on-year in 2022, up from 5.2 per cent in 2021.

8.ICICI Bank launches online platform ‘Trade Emerge’

9.International Emmy Awards 2021 announced

10.Education Minister launches Center for Nanotechnology at IIT Guwahati

11.Australia signs submarine agreement with US and UK
