1 The world’s second largest Hindu temple outside India inaugurated in America

 In a historic moment for devotees of  Hinduism and lovers of art and culture, the  Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple  in   Robbinsville Township , New Jersey was inaugurated on 8 October 2023  under the guidance of  its spiritual head Mahant  Swami Maharaj . It is one of the largest Hindu temples in the world built outside India. The BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham Mandir in tiny Robbinsville Township, New Jersey, about 90 km south of New York’s Times Square or about 289 km north of Washington DC, has been built by more than 12,500 volunteers. This monumental temple built outside India,  the majestic Angkor Wat  in  Cambodia It is poised to become the second largest Hindu temple in the world after.

2 Election Commission announced the dates of assembly elections in five states

Assembly elections  in  Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Telangana will be held between 7th and 30th  next month   , while counting of votes in the five states   will take place on  December 3 . election Commission of India Has announced the assembly election schedule in five states. Voting will be held in Mizoram in a single phase on 7th November, notification for this will be issued on 13th of this month. In Chhattisgarh, the first phase of voting will be held on November 7 and the second phase on November 17. Notification for the first phase will be released on 13th of this month and for the second phase on 21st. Whereas in Madhya Pradesh, the notification for voting to be held on 17th November will be issued on 21st October, while in Rajasthan, the notification for voting to be held on 23rd November will be issued on 30th October. Voting will be held in Telangana in a single phase on November 30. Election notification in the state will be issued on November 3. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar in New Delhi said that the assembly elections in these five states have special importance because these will be the last assembly elections to be held before the 2024 general elections.

4 America’s Claudia Goldin announced the Nobel Prize in Economics for improving the understanding of women’s labor market outcomes

The Nobel Prize in Economics  for the year 2023   will be awarded to   Professor  Claudia Goldin of Harvard University . The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences  announced this today. The Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences   is known as the Sveriges Riksbank Prize . Claudia Goldin will receive  the award ” for advancing our understanding of the labor market consequences of migration.” Till now only two women ,  Elinor Ostrom and Esther Duflo, have received the Nobel Prize  for extraordinary contributions to economic science.  Has been awarded. Goldin will be the third woman to receive this honor. The announcement of the Nobel Prizes, which began on October 2, ended with the announcement of the prize in the field of economic sciences. Last week, the Nobel Prizes to be awarded in the fields of medicine, physics, chemistry, literature and peace were announced.

5 Telangana government decided to implement cashless health insurance scheme for pensioners

The Telangana government  has   decided to implement a cashless health insurance scheme  for  government employees, their families and pensioners covered under the Employees’ Health Scheme. The State Government yesterday  appointed the Employees Health Welfare Trust (ESCT) Formed. Employees and pensioners will contribute a fixed amount to the ESCT every month. This amount will be deducted from their salary or remuneration or pension every month. The state government will also contribute an equal amount to this trust every month. The Board of Trustees of ESCT will make recommendations to the Government on policy matters and in the coming days the State Government will also appoint a Chief Executive Officer for the Employees Health Scheme. Detailed guidelines will be issued to implement the new Employee Health Scheme.

6 NITI Aayog launches Women Entrepreneurship Platform

Inaugural edition of Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP)  –  NITI Aayog  ‘s State Workshop Series  on  Enabling Women-led Growth through Entrepreneurship on 3 October 2023 in Goa It was held at the CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) Auditorium located at. This workshop was organized in collaboration with the Government of Goa, focusing on the western region of the country. More than 500 participants including women entrepreneurs, local Self Help Groups (SHGs) and clusters, government officials, industry representatives, incubators/accelerators, financial institutions, philanthropic foundations participated in this workshop. The primary focus was to deliberate on a hub-and-spoke model aimed at taking women-led development to the grassroots level by covering the last mile.

7 NLC India Limited wins 810 MW Grid Connected Solar Photovoltaic Power Project in Rajasthan

NLC India Limited (NLCIL) is a Navratna Central Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Coal . It   has secured 810 MW solar PV project capacity from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Nigam Limited  (RRVUNL)  . NLCIL has acquired 2000 MW Ultra Mega Solar Park Project  of RRVUNL in  Pugal Tehsil of Bikaner District, Rajasthan.  It has successfully achieved the full capacity of 810 MW tender floated by RRVUNL in December 2022 to develop RRVUNL. The letter of intent for this project has been issued by RRVUNL. This achievement is an important step reflecting NLCIL’s commitment to clean and sustainable energy solutions. The project will bring power project capacity in Rajasthan to 1.36 GW, including 1.1 GW of green power, providing economies of scale and optimized fixed costs. The high CUF for this project is possible considering the good solar radiation in Rajasthan, which will generate more than 50 billion units of green energy and reduce emissions of more than 50,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide during the life of the project.

8 Annual Joint HADR Exercise 2023-(Cyclone 2023)

The Annual Joint HADR Exercise (AJHE)   is a result of the directive of the Hon’ble Prime Minister announced during the Joint Commanders’ Conference-2015 . The annual joint HADR exercise, Cyclone , since its first edition in 2015   has transformed itself into a multi-agency effort involving  the three services, paramilitary forces as well as a number of disaster response organizations, NGOs, academic institutions and international organizations. Participation of organizations  is included. The 2023 edition will further coordinate efforts at the national level among all stakeholders, as well as see the participation of eight countries in the Indian Ocean region. The exercise is conducted by the Indian Army, Indian Navy (IN) and Indian Air Force (IAF) on rotation basis since 2016. The last edition of the exercise was conducted by the IAF in Agra. of practice  The 2023 edition is being hosted by the Indian Navy  at   Goa from 09  to 11 Oct 23 .

9 Air India sets up storage facility for spare parts at Delhi airport

After facing several technical problems during flight operations  ,  Air India  has   opened a warehouse facility in Delhi  to  facilitate storage of over 1,000,000 engineering spares. According to airline officials,  the centralized warehouse, spread over 54,000 sq. ft., located adjacent to Terminal 3 in the cargo complex of the Air Cargo Logistics Division  of  Delhi airport  , will improve the quick turnaround of the airline’s flights operating from Delhi.

10. President inaugurates international conference of ICAR and CGIAR

President  Smt. Draupadi Murmu at the ‘ From Research to Impact: Towards Equitable and Resilient Agri-Food Systems’  organized by  the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) Gender Impact Platform  and  the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)  in New Delhi  on October 9, 2023.  ‘Inaugurated an international research conference on the topic.

11 Reserve Bank of India increased the monetary limit of gold loan under Bullet Repayment Scheme for Urban Cooperative Banks from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 4 lakh.

The Reserve Bank of India  has  increased the monetary limit of gold loan  under the Bullet Repayment Scheme for   Urban Cooperative Banks from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 4 lakh. The Union Ministry of Cooperation said that this will remove the difficulties faced by urban cooperative banks and will help in meeting the credit target in the identified priority areas. It said the government is committed to strengthening cooperatives and treating them at par with other economic entities both as beneficiaries and participants.

12 David Warner completed 1000 runs in the World Cup

Australia  ‘s experienced opener  David Warner  has   made a special record in his name in the fifth match of  the World Cup 2023 against India . In the match being played at MA Chidambaram Stadium  in  Chennai  , Warner   has completed his 1,000 runs in World Cup history. David Warner  crossed the 1,000-run mark in just 19 innings  while playing in the World Cup. In this way, Warner  has become the fastest  batsman to complete 1,000 runs in World Cup history. During this period, Warner met great Indian batsman  Sachin Tendulkar  and  former South African  captain  AB de Villiers. Like leaving the giants behind. Let us tell you that Sachin Tendulkar and AB de Villiers are jointly second in terms of completing the fastest 1000 runs in the ODI World Cup. Both these legendary batsmen had crossed the 1000-run mark in 20 innings of the World Cup. Sourav Ganguly and Viv Richards jointly occupy the third position. Ganguly and Richards had crossed the 1000-run mark in 21 innings.

13 World Dyslexia Day

World Dyslexia Day is observed  every year  on 8 October  , highlighting the challenges faced by individuals with dyslexia. Also,  Dyslexia Awareness Week  is celebrated every year from 2 to 8 October. Dyslexia is a specific learning disorder that primarily  affects a person’s ability to read, write, and spell accurately  . In this, the person faces difficulties in processing language-related tasks, including recognizing and decoding written words. However dyslexia has nothing to do with intelligence. Its theme for the year 2023 is:  Uniquely You .

Postal service in India provided employment opportunities to many people and this service also contributed to social and economic development. Indian Foreign Service (IFS) Day  is celebrated every year   on  9 October . Indian Foreign Service Day is celebrated to commemorate the day on which the Indian Cabinet established the Foreign Service.
