Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) – Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) , Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) have entered into a Long Term Purchase Agreement (LTPA) for upcoming dedicated ethanol plants across the country.has done. Shri Sandeep Pondrick (IAS), Principal Secretary, Industries Department, Government of Bihar, Shri Ashwini Bhatia, MD, State Bank of India and Shri Sukhmal, Executive Director I/C, Marketing Corporate, BPCL, on the first set of Tripartite-cum-Escrow Agreement (TPA) The signing was done between OMCs (Oil Marketing Companies), project proponents and banks associated with ethanol plant projects in the presence of Jain. State Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank and Indian Bank are the three banks involved in this tripartite agreement with OMCs and project proponents. This agreement has been done to ensure that the payments received by the ethanol plants will be used to repay the finances given by these banks. According to the agreement, The ethanol produced by these plants dedicated to ethanol production will be sold to OMCs for blending with petrol as per the Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) program of the Government of India. The payment to be made for supply of ethanol to OMCs will be credited to an escrow account opened with the financing bank to ensure repayment of the loan to the banks as per the stipulated time. TPA was signed with Micromax Biofuels Pvt Ltd, Bihar, Eastern India Biofuels Pvt Ltd, Bihar, Muzaffarpur Biofuels Pvt Ltd, Bihar, KP Biofuels Pvt Ltd, Madhya Pradesh and Visag Biofuels Pvt Ltd, Madhya Pradesh. In the Ethanol Supply Year 2021-22, India achieved 9.90% ethanol blending by consuming 186 crore liters of ethanol, thereby saving more than 9000 crores of foreign exchange. Although,
