Originating in the high altitude regions of Leh-Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir , the world famous pashmina wool products will now be made in Varanasi as well. Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has taken a pioneering initiative in Varanasi and Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh .Four Khadi institutes in the districts have been persuaded to process raw pashmina wool and weave it further into woolen cloth. Pashmina cloth will be woven in Varanasi. This is the first attempt to introduce the heritage Pashmina weaving craft outside J&K and introduce this unique art to artisans from rest of India. Pashmina weaving in Varanasi will start from January next year. 20 Khadi artisans from Sewapuri Ashram in Varanasi will be given 30 days training in Pashmina weaving, for which 2 master trainers from West Bengal have been persuaded by these institutes.

10.IREDA and BVFCL sign MoU to enhance green energy cooperation
