7.Sri Lankan legend Herath announced his retirement, England will retire after the first Test:-

Rangana Herath , Sri Lankan veteran and Test cricket’s most successful left-arm spinner, is going to retire now. Herath will say goodbye to the cricket world after the first Test played at Gaul in the three-match series against England.

At present, Herath is the only Test cricketer who has started his career in the 90s. In his Test career, Herath has played 92 Test matches and has taken 430 wickets. Apart from this, he has taken 74 wickets in 71 ODIs and 74 wickets in T20 matches. He is the 10th most successful bowler in the history of Test cricket.

Gaul is a memorable field for Herath because he started his Test career in 1999, and now he will take 100 wickets here with the only wicket on this field. Muralitharan will be the second spinner to do so. Along with this, he has also taken 10 wickets against Pakistan.

The 40-year-old spinner has not played a full series of three matches since the beginning of the year 2017. Since Muralitharan’s retirement, the responsibility of the team’s spin attack was on their shoulders.

Rangana Herath, also known as Sri Lankan cricket, who is going through difficult times, will be considered a big loss. Because any spinner at the level of herath is not present in the team. However, Akila Dhananjaya, Syndicate Sandakan and Melinda Pushpakarma are trying to fill the place by making a place in the team. But he still lacks experience.

Herath has taken 430 wickets in the total of 92 Test matches for Sri Lanka and is at number 10 in the list of highest wicket taker bowlers. But if Herath succeeds in taking five wickets in his last Test, he will move to seventh place in the list, behind Richard Hadlee (431 wickets), Stuart Broad (433 wickets) and Kapil Dev (434 wickets).
