1.NASA’s InSight detects first likely ‘quake’ on Mars:-

NASA’s robotic Mars InSight lander has recorded a likely marsquake for the first time ever.The US space agency said the faint seismic signal, detected by the lander’s Seismic instrument, was recorded on April 6.NASA said this is the first recorded trembling that appears to have come from inside the plane.Scientists still are examining the data to determine the exact cause of the signal.

2.Bhandarkar, Helen get Deenanath Mangeshkar Award:-

National Award-winning filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, popular scriptwriter Salim Khan and yesteryears dancing diva Helen were honoured with the prestigious Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Award at a ceremony Mumbai, Maharashtra.This year, the Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Award for music and art has been given to classical dancer Sucheta Bhide-Chapekar.

 3.Benny Antony conferred National IP Award:-

Benny Antony, Joint Managing Director, the Kochi-based Arjuna Natural Ltd, has been conferred with the National Intellectual Property Award for 2019 in the category of Top Individual for Patents and Commercialization.Along with the National IP Award, the Intellectual Property Office India and the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) have jointly conferred the ‘WIPO Medal for Inventors’ also to Antony.

4.ABU Media Summit on Climate Action and Disaster Preparedness underway in Nepal:-

5th Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) Media Summit on Climate Action and Disaster Preparedness began in Kathmandu on Thursday.The theme of the two-day summit is “Media Solutions for Sustainable Future: Saving Lives, Building Resilient Communities”. Nepal’s Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota inaugurated the summit. The basic aim of the summit is to address the issue of fully utilizing media’s potential of accelerating climate action and disaster preparedness and connect stakeholders to media professionals for collaboration and joint practical projects. According to ABU, over 200 participants including political leaders, representatives of UN agencies and NGOs, climate change and disaster management experts, scientists and media persons are attending the event.

5.World Intellectual Property Day is being celebrated worldwide:-

World Intellectual Property Day is being celebrated today in the world. Our correspondent has said that intellectual property is the use of symbols , names and images in intellectual creation , invention , literature and artistic work as well as in business activities .This day is celebrated around the world to create awareness about intellectual property rights related to patents , trade marks , industrial design and copy rights. The main purpose of the Intellectual Property Act is to promote the creation of intellectual property on a large scale for consumers and to increase the knowledge and understanding of the people.

This year’s World Intellectual Property Rights Day is the main theme – Reach The Gold: Ip And Sports. India had accepted the National Intellectual Property Rights Policy in 2016. Whose main purpose is to raise awareness of the importance of intellectual property rights.

6.Integral Coach Factory Chennai team won the second Marshal Arjan Singh Memorial International Hockey Tournament:-

The Integral Coach Factory Chennai team has won the second Marshal Arjan Singh Memorial International Hockey Tournament. In the final, he defeated the South Central Railway Secunderabad team by seven goals in six matches.

7.Amit Pangal to Gold and Deepak Singh and Kavinder Singh Bisht silver medal in Asian boxing championship in Bangkok:- 

In the Asian Boxing Competition, India today won a gold and two silver medals. Amit Pagal won the second place in the 52kg category and won the second gold medal this year. Earlier, he took gold medal in Asian Games. This year, he has won the first international competition after coming in from 52 kg class to 48 kilograms. National champion Deepak Singh and Kavinder Singh Bisht lost in the 56kg final and they got silver medals.

8.Shooter Divyansh secures Olympic berth by winning a silver in ISSF World Cup:-

India’s Divyansh Singh Panwar secured the country’s fourth Olympic quota place in shooting by winning a silver in the ISSF World Cup in Beijing. The 17-year-old teenager Divyansh finished second in the 10m air rifle event in the International Shooting Sport Federation World Cup for pistol and rifle shooters.This is India’s fourth 2020 Tokyo Olympic quota after Anjum Moudgil and Apurvi Chandela (10m air rifle women) and Saurabh Choudhary (10m Air Pistol men) had secured berths in the earlier World Cups and last year’s World Championship.

9.SBI launches Green Car Loan:-

State Bank of India announced the country’s first ‘Green Car Loan’ (Electric Vehicle) to encourage customers to buy electric vehicles.The new scheme will offer loan at 20 basis points lesser than the interest rate on the existing car loan schemes. The EMI per Rs.1 lakh will be lower at Rs.1,468 for 96 months against Rs.1,622 for 84 months, based on the maximum tenor, in line with the existing scheme.
